We were attracted to this destination because of the location and climate. The hotel is located on the North side of the island of Mallorca, close to Alcudia. Close to the sea with direct access to the beach. Car hires are readily available to explore Palma and the rest of the island.

The hotel offers both all-inclusive as half board options. We choose All-Inclusive, and fully took advantage of the benefits (all meals, non- & alcoholic beverages included).

Upon arrival we were somewhat surprised by the size of the hotel. Although the websites indicate the Albufera Playa is a 359 room resort, we did not expect that the adjacent IB Albufera Park would share facilities and entertainment with our hotel. This totals to more than 600 (!) bedrooms, which mostly families sharing accommodation. One can imagine the queue for breakfast/dinner and incredibly busy pool areas with loads of children. Guests mainly came from Spain, Germany or Switzerland.

The room we received was very clean and apparently refurbished. We could argue about the size of the room, but with the seaview, private balcony and a properly working AC unit we did not complain. The only thing to note is that all doors slam with a loud bang, and that the isolation of the rooms is far from perfect. We could hear the neighbours flushing, talking and walking, and the outside music came into the room, like we opened all windows...

The Entertainment bit we found a bit tricky at first. We understand this is common practise in All-Inclusive hotels, and varies from sport events, music, dancing and varieté. The only thing we noticed is that if you are not into it, there is no escape because of the volume of the PA system is so loud - you will hear every beat in your hotel room. Perhaps not too adequate for families with smaller kids that have to get to bed early...

We have to say that this Iberostar property exceeds in food and beverage offering; varied every day with plenty of choice, an abundance of freshly made dishes at a very well kept and clean restaurants / bars.

We enjoyed our holiday because of the great weather, excellent food and car hire to explore the island (Tip!). We would not return to this property because of the size and feeling somewhat a number in the eyes of the staff. Besides one breakfast waitress we did not have any staff interaction that we could mention.

Overall a nice hotel - but too crowded for us!

Room Tip: If you do not want to be troubled by the entertainment, do ask for a silent room away from the disco...

I have just returned from this great hotel, as others have said its very clean, the rooms are comfortable & the service is good. My personal drawbacks are as it was my first holiday as a widower, I found I was either the only person or almost the only person from the UK. If you like to promenade in the evening you will need to take a taxi as it’s a few Kilometres from the resorts. Only other gripe is not being shown to a table in the dining room with being on my own I found on two occasions that despite leaving something on the table I returned with my meal to find it had be occupied. However these as I said are minor gripes, The food was better than I have had at any hotel I have previously stayed in in Spain. Overall It was a great holiday hotel lots of entertainment, I would return & a tip I up graded to all inclusive in the hotel for 25 Euro s per day you may find that cheaper than your holiday company charge.

I stayed here with all the family. Mam dad sister her hubby and my nephew, we met my Aunty and her family out there. I am so picky, but this hotel ticked all the boxes. The food was amazing. Fillet steaks, lobster, everything you could want.
Rooms were clean if a little small for the price but still nice.
Staff were lovely and we had champagne arrival, which was a lovely touch.
Entertainment is never ending and the kids were very happy with this.
I am 28 and as I tagged along on holiday I was happy to watch but if your a couple this hotel may not be for you.
The beach is on your doorstep and its beautiful, green sea which you just keep walking out to and its up to your waist.
I would definately return with the family, not with by boyfriend, but thats only because its such a family friendly hotel. (which isnt a bad thing)

The only poor thing I can say is the bar service of an evening. One member of staff and it takes a good half an hour to get served or if waited on just same time to get your drinks.

Room Tip: parents asked for a sea room and you had to lean over balcony to see it, they changed their room and...

We have been to this hotel 3 times previously. This is very unusual for us - we don't often go back to the same place and prefer to try new hotels. However, this hotel is excellent and we really love the luxury of the place. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food and drink in the all inclusive option is exceptional. The staff are all very friendly and the hotel is in a great location near the beach and far enough away from the not very nice resort of Alcudia. We didn't venture out other than to the beach, we just wanted a few days of sun and relaxation which is what we got.

My only slight criticism was the price of the spa treatments at the Thai Zen - very expensive so I didnt use it which was a real shame as this is one of my treats on this type of holiday. Also the jacuzzi was only half full when I went to use it so I had to give that a miss. My husband used the gym every day though.

Definitely recommended and we will probably be back next year. One tip - if you are going, it is definitely better to go all inclusive.

We booked a sea view junior suite at the albufeira playa but knew our room could be located in the sister hotel right next door as it stated this in the brochure. We checked in and our room was at the albufeira park, the location of the room was fantastic, looking right over the beautiful beach , the bathroom was very spacious, huge shower and jacuzzi bath, two balconies, separate bedroom with kingside bed and a lounge area.
The A Park is definatly more for families, most of the rooms here are one bedroom apartments, where as next door they are just hotel rooms sleeping unto three people, our room type we stayed in meant we could dine at either the A. Park or the A. Playa buffet restaurant we preferred the park as we had our two yr old daughter here they had a childrens section of food the other restaurant at the Playa we found it was mainly adults and much quieter- so if it's no kids u what book into the Playa! The food was fantastic, I am a very fussy eater too , spoilt for choice, lobster, steak etc and lovely desserts !!
The entertainment we found to be very good, mini disco every night followed by a show, the staff worked so hard.
The hotel is 6km from alcudia port ten euros one way by taxi or one euro pp one way by bus, outside the hotel there are a few shops and restaurants , it is a very small resort, mainly just all inclusive properties.
We never had a problem getting
sunbeds around the pool Area, letters were delivered to your room
saying do not reserve, this seemed to work, our only problem which
was nothing to do with the hotel
was the sunbeds on the beach,
people were reserving them for the
full duration of their holiday by
paying the sun bed man who would
then stick a notice up on the
umbrella saying reserved, you could
see people getting very annoyed
with this - we just bought a huge
sun umbrella ten euros and sat
right on the waters edge this was
much better than paying ten euros
a day for sunbeds !!!
Overall we had a great stay, would
only want to stay in a junior suite if we were to return, the views were
beautiful and the room so spacious!

We've just got back from our 2nd visit (my partners 5th).
The hotel is faultless on all levels. The food is exemplary with more than enough choices to suit all tastes, we even had lobster on one occasion!
The hotels location is superb, although wouldn't suit those looking for somewhere full of disco's and noisy bars.
From the rear of the hotel it is only a 2 minute walk (and I DO mean 2 minutes) through an attractive sandy path to a vast unspoilt beach with sunbeds and shades. Please note these sunbeds are NOT part of the hotel, so have to be paid for separately (about €10 per day) for 2 beds under a shade, AND ARE WORTH EVERY CENT. There's a guy who works on the beach who you'll have to find (he usually wears a straw hat, shorts and a money belt) and he'll rent you a pair of beds and a shade from a minimum of 3 days to probably however long you'll need them. BE WARNED they go fast so you might have to wait a day or two to get them.
If there are any negatives to mention, the two I can think of is that the TV is very limited for English speakers (BBC World) so I'm now an expert on the Asia stock Market. And the hotel cocktails are of questionable quality, they seemed a bit watery to us.
TOP TIP. Don't miss the freshly brewed coffee from the two coffee making machines (they have the beans on show on top of them) it is as good as any coffee house.
In summary this hotel and it's staff could not have done any more to enhance our stay and we'll DEFINATELY be returning.

Stayed here for 10 nights last September and thoroughly enjoyed it,
Location on the beach is fantastic ( it would have made it perfect if they had a beach bar too though ). Not much going on outside the hotel but the entertainment was great so didn't really need to venture out much anyway.
Food here was terrific and the main restaurant was very modern, clean and bright, also enjoyed the outdoor restaurant for lunch.
Drinks were great, was nice to be served in glasses instead of plastic cups for a change.
We stayed in a junior suite with a sea view, however the trees infront of our balcony were blocking most of the view but how long to we really spend on the balcony, whirlpool bath was lovely and complemented the very spacious bathroom.
We spent most of our days beside the quite pools but there were activities going on around the pool of the albufeira park if you wanted abit more action.
If there was one thing that I found let this hotel down it was the service by certain bar / restaurant staff as the more polite you were with them the ruder they become, and I heard some people who were talking to the staff like dirt got treated like royalty, so if you can't beat them join them and you will receive much better service.
I would return to this hotel again and would recommend it for a relaxing holiday.
