“Good hotel, poor location...”
Reviewed 13 September 2010

Spent an interesting 7 nights with my wife and 4 yr old daughter..First impressions of the hotel were excellent, champagne on arrival, good welcome by reception. Before we arrived we specifically asked for a quiet room..Having a four yr old child, we felt that this was important. When we checked into the room it was a decent size, not fantastic decor but worst of all was right above the hotel night club..The room was shaking until 1am! Not a good start...Complained and was moved to a much better room..Positives for this hotel are excellent pools, excellent childrens pool, superb food. Negatives are, some rooms are very noisy, hotel appears expensive compared to the albufera park which is linked to the playa and you share all the facilities, no room service and the location of the hotel being in the middle of nowhere...All in all, hotel is ok, but for four star, I have stayed in better..

I've just returned from the most wonderful week at this hotel. I was a little concerned having read a few reviews, but I must have been staying at a different hotel as everything exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is contemporary, which I loved. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated in shades of white. I stayed in 7240 overlooking the pool and I suffered neither, banging doors or noise from the entertainment.
The restaurants were very clean and stylish with show cooking. I'm a fussy eater but found it hard to resist the appetising variety on offer-the service was good too.
A lovely beach was only a few metres from the complex, this complemented the grounds of the hotel.
We found the animation team to be tremendous. My 2 grandsons were having their first holiday abroad and to them, the team were magic. They were a group of young people who seemed to work around the clock to keep you entertained. We saw four really good shows during the evenings, including a Celtic, an 80's, Spanish Gypsy and tropical show. We have stayed in four/five star hotels for the past 25 years and these were the best shows and entertainment team we've seen. We're planning to return next year and we're looking forward to it already.

My husband and I spent 5 days in the Albufera Playa. Overall, our stay was good but we were certainly surprised by a few things...mostly that it's totally set up to be a family resort. We were looking for a quick weekend getaway to somewhere reasonably quiet and relaxing. Granted, we did this trip in the middle of August which is European high vacation season. But here were our likes and dislikes about this hotel:

Likes:
- Beautiful property right next to the beach (although the hotel doesn't own the beach so you're on your own out there)
- Location is at the end of the Acludia beach strip so while there's a lot of touristy stuff around, if you walk the other way you're in the middle of the pine forest and the Albufera National Park

Dislikes:
- We had a really hard time getting a good night's sleep at this resort. The open balconies create a wind tunnel so you're woken up by slamming doors all throughout the night. Then the maids start working at 7:30 am and not quietly. (Oh and they'll knock to clean your room as early as 8:00 if you don't have your "do not disturb" sign out)
- The hotel rules say no one is allowed to put out their towels to save pool chairs, but they didn't enforce it. So very, very frustrating. And since you have to put a deposit on towels, you would think the hotel could easily enforce this rule by removing any towels and charging owners their deposit. Anyway, you have to get up and save pool chairs by 8:30 on a nice day or you're out of luck. And of course, there are THOSE people who put towels on their chairs at 8:30 and don't show up to use them until noon.

So-so:
- The food was really mediocre. It wasn't bad and there was certainly lots of it, but I wasn't wowed by anything. Very bland flavors.
- Staff was helpful but not happily so. No one was rude but the only ones who were super friendly were the managers wandering around with their walkie-talkies. I can imagine it's hard to be friendly in high season when they probably get lots of rude and demanding people.
- The entertainment was pretty bad. Be prepared for some college students without a whole lot of talent singing on stage. While fun for the kids, we saw one night and decided to spend our time with a bottle of wine on our lovely balcony.

And while maybe we should have guessed in advance, this place is a super-family resort and we weren't expecting it. Constant kids activities; clowns running around the dining room; screaming by the pool; a constant parade of strollers. I can't say this is a "dislike" because for families this would be a plus. But if you're expecting a quiet getaway, stay in the mountains of Majorca away from the tourist strips.

My partner and I stayed here for a week all inclusive with our 6 month old baby for a week.

The Albufera Playa and Park form one big complex and you can use the pools/facilities at both hotels.
We booked a Junior suite in the Albufera Playa, however, on arrival we were allocated a suite at the Albufera Park. When we queried this we were told that all the suites are situated on the sea front and can be in either the Park/Playa. Also the Iberostar brochure states that the room has a minibar. We just had an empty fridge, when we queried this we were told that it is just a fridge not a minibar!.. so a little frustrating as we were going to room quite early because of our daughter ad it would of been nice to not have to carry drinks upto the room!

The Albufera Playa is quite formal and we found that The Albufera Park had a slightly more relaxed atmosphere about it, and we found that we used the restaurant there.

The food was very good. For breakfast you could have cooked breakfast, pastries, yoghurts or cereals. The lunch and dinner were very good and there was a god choice. The kids selection was very good also.

We would not book a Junior Suite again as we saw the apartments and they were just as nice.
The satellite TV is all german apart from one channel..bbc news!

The hotel has supermarkets on the doorstep and an excellent bus service to the Port of Alcudia and C'an Picafort. The Alcudia Port is well worth a visit.

I checked in for an all inclusive seven night stay on Friday 16 Oct 09, I had to leave after three nights.

Attitude of staff, disinterested and unhelpful.

Rooms, freezing cold.

Food, cookhouse slop always cold and uninterested staff.

Entertainment and TV, I am not xenophobic but unless you are from a particular european country they are not interested in you.

I stayed in this hotel in May, 09 while the business trip. Albufera Playa is a nice hotel with good service in the charming place. The most wonderful thing for me in this hotel was good cuisine. All dishes was very delicious. By the way, here's the best paella on Mallorca.
Rooms are not really big, but very bright and clean.
The beach is also very clean with white sand and it's just about 5 min. from room to beach.
There's a SPA-centre on the territory (near the pool), personally i don't know how good it is, but people who was there said they make good massages.
As the resume i would say, that is a really nice hotel for a good quite vacation in the beautiful place far away from big city life.

Really clean and well maintained. Quiet after about 11 p.m.so no disturbance but no night life either. Clientele and hence style a bit germanic but really good spread for breakfast. Modern room, not over spacious, but good bed and shower room. really good shower. Excellent poolside. Choice of several pools. Lots of comfortable loungers and good towels. Direct access to one of the best beaches but loungers etc there are not so good and charged for. Alcudia (old town) is a 15 euro taxi ride so best with a car
