We'd been looking forward to this holiday for ages and it proved a real disappointment. To be honest, it probably depends how much you're paying but at high season prices, this just felt like a rip-off.

The rooms look great in photos but when you arrive, they just feel cheap and nasty . We were initially given a room with no view at all, and on asking for a move were, under sufferance and with bad grace, offered a room with a "sea view" (standing up and craning your neck). The second room smelled stale and unpleasant, but we'd had to make such a fuss to move, we accepted it. To be honest, it's hard to see how you could have a good room - those that had sea views were on the top floors and had no lift. Those looking on to the swimming pool also overlooked the entertainment area and would be incredibly noisy...

The food quality varied from reasonable to very good, but was often cold - particularly at lunchtime. Again, though, given the prices we were paying this is the minimum you might expect.

Pools etc were nice and our 2 year old did have a great time. The beach looked lovely and was pleasant. The resort outside the hotel was more than a bit grim and I was glad we were AI as I'd have been in despair if we'd had to eat out in the area...

Honestly, if this had been a cheap package, I'd have thought it really good but for what it cost, I was pretty outraged at the rooms and the service. This certainly isn't the trreat yourself splash out we'd imagined...

We booked this holiday through First Choice Holidays. We were taking my nephew who is 4 yrs old away for the first time and it was my brothers birthday. We will never book through First Choice again as we feel totally mislead by them.

The hotel was advertised as a 4 star Plus hotel but only just reaches 3 star standards.

We were allocated a Family suite as apparently they didnt have any other rooms next door to each other even though the Hotel looked half empty. When we arrived, the fridge, air conditioning and kettle didn't work and the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. We were told this was due to the room not being serviced since the Winter season.

The room was also very close to the road which proved to be very noisy and despite us being told by reception that it was very quiet. We attempted to change rooms but were told nothing was available til my brother's birthday - 1st July and we didnt think it would be much fun for him to be lugging clothes about on his birthday so didn't bother.

The hotel allows you to have pool towels but for a 15 euro deposit each. It wasn't actually a deposit because they take the money there and then. If you pay this by credit card they give you it back in cash - why would we need 60 euro's cash on the day we went home so I insisted on recrediting the card and it cost me money due to the exchange rate.

You would expect a 4 star hotel to provide a pool service for drinks but think again because this one only does it when they are conducting a customer satisfaction survey.

If you book All Inclusive, be prepared to receive smaller measures of drinks and only a glass of water rather than a bottle if you are paying for it.

This was a fantastic family hotel. Great food, excellent service. Rooms were big and plenty of space. The pool area was not overcrowded and only 20m to the wide expanse of beach. The hotel next door offered a wider range of services and you were free to use the facilities if you wanted a more active holiday but it was busier and it suited us to be at the quieter village next door. We went half board but the all inclusive option looked like a great deal if you could get it at a reasonable price. The only down side was that alcoholic drinks were expensive but I think this was down to the stronger euro and the present economic climate. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends going to Majorca. All the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Second visit to Playa de Muro Village and still excellent standards throughout. Arrived June 5 and stayed for 14 nights.
Going in school term time made for a very quiet time (we went in August last year). Large numbers of families with babies/toddlers and sometimes the restaurant became very noisy. Food generally excellent although our second week the menu was not as varied but the desserts are wonderful. Entertainment wasn’t bad although only about 10 people watching (perhaps Euro 2008 had something to do with it). I felt sorry for those putting all that effort in but it passed an hour. We only paid for a double room but were allocated a suite. (Although looking at the floor plans all the rooms seem to be suites). Very spacious, bedroom, separate living area with a fridge, patio doors off both bedroom and living room. Lovely large balcony. Bathroom spacious with a great shower. Stayed in 6426 last year and 6430 this time round. Balcony overlooks gardens this time but pool view from 6426.
The beach is fabulous, we spent all our time there rather than round the pool area which is quite shady. You do have to pay if you want a bed. It was 8 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella. The ‘pineapple man’ does his daily sales from the beach and for 4 euros you can sample the sweetest pineapple (or water melon and coconut), just what you need to refresh you. Lovely!
Drinks are expensive with your meals as we didn’t stay ‘all inclusive’ but you can get your own and stick them in the fridge from the supermarket over the road. Costs about 19 euros for a bottle of wine at dinner and 2 euros for coke or fanta etc. Choice for lunch if you are on half board isn’t great and for the buffet they charge 20 euros per person so we just bought baguettes, cheese, ham from the supermarket and had a cheap lunch on our balcony.
First Choice rep was lovely but didn’t have a clue! He was new to the job and admitted that he was a bit disorganised! We had taxi transfers arranged both to the hotel and back to the airport but nobody could tell us what time the taxi was picking us up to take back to airport but the rep came good in the end.
Weather was a bit unsettled for the first few days but then out came the sun and it was lovely.
Had another great holiday and would certainly go back to the Play de Muro Village.

Stayed here at the Village middle week of June 2008.
Couldn't ask for a better room. Very Modern, clean, and bright...and enormous beds.
View from our room on the terrace was of the pool and part of the bay. Perfect at night time for relaxing on terrace listening to the evenings entertainment.
Even though my Husband is classed as disabled, we didn't come across any obstacles. Bath sides really low with grab rails and towel rails to help out. Ramps into room corridors, ramps down to eating area and the whole of Playa De Muro is flat.
Only stopped half board but no problems with finding any where to eat, restaurants everywhere, from English ones to Chinese.
Bus stops outside, not many taxi's, but we didn't visit anywhere, we were happy to stay and relax by the pool where there was plenty of sunbeds available each day.
Didn't make it onto the beach - even though it was 30 secs walk away, but did see that the sea is very shallow for about 200yrds so good for kids and water games.

Perfect for a week of relaxation and from comments from others holidaying at the same time - perfect for families with young children.
