Wide selection for breakfast with very friendly staffs. Most of the staffs can speak good english and we could get around without any issue. They were also kindly enough to send us to nearby resturants and pick us up from JW Marriot.

However, there werent much good views from the room. The swimming pools were small but since it was low season there werent much people around. Spa is not bad but not the best.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff (especially at The Sandbox). And the beach was amazing. Would strongly recommend going to this hotel.

Great choice if you're looking for a comfortable, modern, well-appointed room with friendly service. The hotel has everything you need on-site. However, if you're a traveler who prefers to venture outside of your resort, you may find the Renaissance to be a little isolated from the rest of Phuket. And, while the hotel is located on a quiet beach, there's not much room due to erosion.

Service: 5/5. Front desk staff were very friendly and spoke English well. Service was excellent for a large resort.

Room Quality:
R Deluxe Room - 4/5. Modern design and a very comfortable bed (as one would expect from a Marriott/Renaissance branded property). Couldn't really see the ocean from where our room was located (even from the top floor).

Location: 4/5. Quiet location that would best appeal to travelers who prefer to stay within their resort. The beach next to the hotel is quite narrow due to erosion. On the plus side, it's a quick 10 minute ride from the airport to the resort and if you're looking to do elephant trekking in Phangna province, the drive will be 45 minutes shorter compared with the other resort areas in Phuket.

Food: 4/5. Breakfast buffet was good, but I would have preferred a wider selection of local Thai dishes. Didn't try the other hotel restaurants after reading other TripAdvisor reviews. Instead, we followed the tip from some other reviewers of ordering delivery from a local Thai restaurant (Kin Dee). The food was authentic, fresh, and quite reasonable when compared to the hotel prices. Total cost was $40 USD for 2 people including tom yum soup, entrees, dessert (mango sticky rice), and a large beer.

Overall: 4/5

My husband and I spent 7 wonderful nights at this resort. We loved the modern rooms, huge shower and bathroom. Staff were really nice. Breakfast was fantastic - made to order hot meals were available, and we liked that we could have breakfast inside rather than in the open air. The resort could probably do with another restaurant but we really liked what was offered. The resort is intimate, well kept and you feel like you are miles away from anywhere. The location of the resort will not suit everyone. The beach was quite rough while we were there so we stuck to the pool which was never overcrowded and there was never a problem getting a pool-side lounge. We really felt relaxed after our stay here.

This is a fantastic well run resort far away from the Patong beach action.

**Pros
Check in was smooth, fast and friendly
Breakfast - simply amazing, so much choice and superb quality, doubt you have had anything close to this choice and quality!!
Happy Hour cocktails 260 bhat for two!
Stylishly designed hotel
Service - 5 star quality, prompt, polite and friendly service
Rooms - big, clean, well designed
Bed - plump, firm and comfy
Poolside recliners - great pool and bar
Free DVDs for a night in

**Cons
If you want to get to Phuket town for the weekend market - costs 500 Bhat round trip each and takes 45 mins
If you want loud bars and nightlife then you need to go to Patong I guess, depends on your interests
Meals are not low price, however I thought they were of a very high quality (guilty pleasure - bugers were fantastic as a break from Thai food)

Room Tip: Room 319 was perfect! Phuket town weekend market, great tshirts and goods to buy Singer in lounge bar is top quality - not the usual cringeworthy resort singers! Pasta dishes in Loca Vera restaurant are really tasty - very big portions so dont order a starter
