Been wanting to come here since reading Jamie's blog but a bit disappointed in the food.

Relaxing place. Stop by for a chill and cicada. BUT they are not serving cicada. Not sure if is the season. Waitiress and Waiter are all youngsters who seems more interested in entertaining themselve.
Food wise, pineapple rice no taste, ton yum soup salty, blue crab so so.
Not recommended to drive all the way from Patong/Karon/Kata just to sample the food and scenary. By the way, did not see any ‘live’ seafood. Not sure where they kept.

This was an accidental choice for us. We had planned for another place but found it was not opened. The driver suggested this alternative. First it is clean and offers a great view of the sea opening between Pha Nga and Mai Khao. The restaurant is located just next to the Sarasin Bridge on the Pha Nga side. You should not expect live (swimming type) seafood like those in Phuket but still the restaurant offer fresh seafood that is tasty. There is not a huge crowd when we were there that day. Judging from it's location it may well be it that way. For guests at the resorts in Mai Khao, love seafood and not wanted to pay for the 5 star hotel prices, this may be an alternative.

We ate here on a nearly full moon night. Tables are either by the water or not far away under a proper pavillion. We had fried morning glory (a dish of greens, spices & sauce) and another vege dish. Both were good. Mostly, it is a place where locals eat. On a busy Saturday night, we were surrounded by local Thai people at the restaurant & in the shopping stalls nearby & on the Sarasin Bridge, where fisherman shine lights in the water & haul up fish. We saw a 30-foot shark they'd just caught.

Wild dogs, cold food, ants on your feet! If this is your idea of a good restuarant then go ahead! Complained to the staff about the cold food and was presented with the bill............ No we won,t be back.:(

Just a short 15 min drive from Phuket's Mai Khao beach and we totally enjoyed a local seafood while the sun set. Tamarind shrimp, softshelled crab with garlic, squid with salted eggs and a spicy soup with shrimp and fried egg-dipped vegetable all tasted excellent. Just bring a bug spray as the mosquito will get you after the beautiful sunset.
