“Great Place for Beach Seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

This is the first review of Thanoon Seafood, although I have been here for several times.

The service and food quality vary every time when we visited this restaurant.

Let's start with the service personnel, depending who you got, the service level would greatly differ.

Overall, majority of the visit here have been great.

The taste of the food may have been above average, as I believe this is not one of the restaurant that the locals would visit. Perhaps more for the tourists.

The menu also seems to change. We were there in December, and then just few days ago, I noticed the menu has been altered. Perhaps, less items now.

The price also slightly adjusted.

Recommended if you want something decent, clean and yummy food.

“great food that does not cost you an arm and leg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

This place is far from Phuket and there is nothing much around. so, don't just drive up here for a meal unless you are prepared for it. However, if you do, you will definitely enjoy it - a great place to enjoy a nice meal and a good dinning experience.

We have been in this restaurant a few times and will still keep on coming. Everyone that we have taken to this place all enjoy it very much.

You will find locals here so this is not just a place that filled with tourists.

“Very Good Seafood, Reasonable Price but Staff Seemed Unhappy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

Good seafood - husband had whole fish (best he'd had on our tip) head, tail and all (enough really for 2), girls had prawns (good, ample portions). Table on the sand pleasant. However, staff seemed unhappy - no smiles, chattering, etc. -- quite different from other Thai people we met. That said, service was prompt, good, etc. - just not pleasant. Perhaps they were trying too hard to be like formal waiters in a five-star snobby restaurant?

Can be hard to find, though it's quite easy once you know. Travelling north over the Sarasin Bridge, take first (almost immediate) right turn, and loop around under the bridge. The restaurant is just under the bridge - west side, on the water. Their facebook page has a map: https://www.facebook.com/thanoonseafood

“Great Whole Cooked Fish - but Unhappy Seeming Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

Good to great food, interesting setting (we sat at a table on the beach), reasonable prices. Staff seemed unhappy - not like most of the Thai people we met. It was quite a switch. In all worth a try as the seafood was good and reasonable, but if you're looking for atmosphere and friendly enviornment, might not be the place.

Tricky to find, though once you know it would be easy. Heading north, go over the Sarasin Bridge, then take 1st exit RIGHT and loop around under the bridge - restaurant is on the west side of the bridge, almost under it, right on the water with beach front dining.

“Over Hyped ?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

Read lots about this "lovely" seafood place and finally we drove there to have our fill.

First off, it's really way off from the main areas in Phuket. By that, I mean, you travel all the way there and there's not much else. Only the Sarasin Bridge, a small fishing village n a row of shops that sells mostly dried seafood stuff n pineapples.

The food was good..... live steamed fish,, softshell crabs, tempura prawns etc.....
SInce we have late lunch, the weather was hot n we had 2 rounds of drinks (5 of us)
Rather boring place as nothing much to do or see...... save the simple n plain beach n the views of the Sarasin Bridge...... therefore, not really worth the trip. Better restaurants (Batik Octopus etc) are located nearer at the Nai Yang beach area.....which is more "happening"

My kids hailed Kan Eang2 as the best seafood they had during our food trail in Phuket
(ha ha ha)

Again, just sharing......cheers !
