We enjoyed a weeks holiday 2 year ago and we have booked again. Large comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with all the mod cons. We had a lot of rain but had enough space to move about as there were 4 of us. The facilities were many. Nice pool areas and restaurants were varied. We were close to the village and that gave us a break. It's a bit far from Patong and expensive to takeaway taxi so if you want to be near the action this is probably not the place to stay. If you want a quiet retreat it's fabulous.

Just coming back from our vacation, we already booked our timeshare week for next year. After having been to several other vacation clubs around the world, in the US, Spain, France, Bangkok, this one is simply the best. As it is integrated into the JW Marriott, the guests can enjoy all the activities, luxury, service from the 5-star hotel. The only critique was that breakfast buffet on our 1st morning was too crowded and warm food was no longer warm but cold. But as we had our 2-bdr appartment with fully equiped kitchen, we enjoyed our breakfast on our terrace for the remaining mornings of our journey. The activities on site were varied compared to other marriott vacation resorts and most were free. Our 17-year old daughter enjoyed every day the slack- line activity at the main pool, eventhough this was a paying activity. With 3 pools, on-site activities and more and more restaurants within walking distance, we did not want to leave the resort. This is probably the 5th time we come back and we already booked our next stay for July 2015, all the staff are so friendly and make you feel at home, even better as you can relax and let yourself get pampered, away from stress or overcrowded party spots on the island. We definitely recommend our friends to come and try this vacatiotion club for a relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are between main lobby area/main pool for kids and turtle village for superm...

We have still not finished our two week stay at the time of writing but I can categorically say that this has been one of the most relaxing and easy vacations we have had with our four children. Away from the action of Patong Beach, the Mariott is a relatively quiet oasis centred around the very useful Turtle village servicing a very international customer base. Best for us was the kids club which had well planned activities and was ever present more for the kids than the parents which is not usually the case. Day trips by hire car to Phuket Town and. Patong and by taxi to the local water park were easy to organise with the hotel. Prices for meals around the hotel were reasonable with a good range choices. 5 stars!

We are still here with a couple more days to go but have been here long enough to exoerience it in order to submit a review.
Villa good, all you need. Gym, pools etc great, no complaints. Staff always greet you well.
Having said all that sadly my family wont be back.
As a family of vegetarians, i found the restuarants within the resort and those in turtle village really lacked a vegetarian choice and upon asking some of the restuarants if they could accomodate our food preferences, the resturants had either sold out of the only veggie dish they had or just couldnt make the dish vegetarian by taking out the meat fish and replacing it with tofu or more vegetables etc.
This happened on several occasions within the resort restuarants and turtle village. For that reason we wont be returning.
The resort as other reviews have said is very far from town so the taxi fares do mount up and arent cheap but for us it had to be done for the variety of food outside not to mention so much cheaper. Resort restuarants are ridiciously over priced.
Despite the negatives, i stand by the villa is great, pools n staff are great too.

Most importantly, you are going to enjoy this resort! The rooms are great, the staff is kind, the pool is nice, the restaurants are pretty good. There are fun things to do like yoga, bike riding, boating, swimming, eating, drinking. The health club is very good and the staff there great too. There is just some drawbacks to me that would exclude me from returning, but may be okay with you. The beach is just okay and there are no chairs, umbrellas, staff, bars, to make it more exciting. The current isn't conducive for swimming or riding waves, it's just a little boring with big quick shore breaks. The jelly fish can be prevalent, but that is to be expected anywhere in Phuket at certain times of the year. As others have said here, the food is pretty dam expensive like Hawaii, which can be expected and fair. I love massage and Thailand is famous for them, but I didn't get one from the massage tents on beach in front of the property. I had planned to get a lot, but they looked " not my style". Bottom line you is it's a very good place, but I wouldn't return although I met several people who do each year.

We stayed at MPBC recently and I must say after our last visit here 8 years ago, the resort is still well maintained. Kudos to the management. We stayed at the 2 bedroom villa, rooms were clean and in good order. Will come back again

Room Tip: If you are booking for villa, ask for the ones closer to the beach and high floors. We had the groun...
