Enjoyed a fabulous 2-day outing on the Rio Grande with NMRA. One day white water rafting and one day paddle boarding. Both completely different from each other and both fullfilling in adventure. Great food and service from this outfit. Super guides.

We tried the new company in town, New Mexico River Adventures, and though they are new, they are super experienced and have it down pat! From a nice new office with excellent facilities where you have orientation, to the actual raft trip with a fun, experienced and personable guide, to the tasty lunch - can't wait to go back next summer!

If you are in Taos this is worth a quick look. Its a few miles drive outside of town but the views from the bridge that spans the gorge over the Rio Grande are wonderful. There is a rest stop where one can park and walk over to the bridge. You can walk across the bridge on sidewalks so you are not in traffic. Take a camera. The river that carved the deep canyons, that you can see for miles, is hundreds of feet below and looks like a small stream. We found the rest area quite clean. At the time we stopped it appeared the bridge was getting ready for a major make-over so there may be construction for the next several months. You can see this attraction in about 30 minutes. For those that want exercise there is a long (7-8 mile ?) hiking trail that runs along the gorge rim.

One can drive across the bridge or park nearby and walk across. It can get very windy, so be careful.
