The Angsanga laguna resort is an incredible resort. It is incredibly relaxing and peaceful with lots of things to do. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone traveling to Thailand. It has one of the largest pools. I've ever seen that travels all around the resort. There are lots of great, authentic restraints literally on the beach! You can have your feet in the sand while you eat. They are very helpful for booking tours and activities.

The second time this year in one of the Pool villas. We had a great welcome and in general a fun, relaxing and happy stay. By being back for the 3rd time we could see a big difference between service levels in high season (excellent and flawless) and low(er) season. July is considered lower season and unfortunately we noticed this on different levels. There was maintenance work on different locations in the resort which did not really add to the relaxing environment. Understand and appreciate maintenance needs to be done so we did not bother about this too much. What we did not like too much was the level of service of the tuk tuk between the Pool villas and the main entrance. When we mentioned one time that we had to wait for over 30 minutes one of the transportation employees had such a bad attitude that my husband made a complaint. After that the service level was back to 'normal' and we got some ad hoc transportation occassionally. In addition the Housekeeping this time was not in top shape and it happened on multiple occassions that there was not enough toilet paper, the bed sheets were dirty etc. We and especially our kids really love the place. The employees in the kids club still remembered the names of the kids from our last time (!) and we will most definitely try to go back again. Just hoping that the service levels will be more stable and up iso down...

Dear DutchieLa,

I truly appreciate the time you took to provide us with your valuable feedback.

Though I am pleased to read that overall you experienced an enjoyable stay at our resort, I regret that your 3rd visit did not entirely live up to our usually high standards. I apologize that the service extended to you was not as efficient and hospitable as you were used to from previous experiences, and assure you that your feedback has been shared with all concerned departments.

I am glad to hear about your intention to return, and wish to assure you that we are committed to providing you with a truly memorable experience during your next visit.

Please let us know once you are planning your next holiday with us, so that I can give your stay my personal attention and provide you with the complete Angsana experience.

We booked a two bedroom loft for a family of 5. The children loved every bit of our stay here. There were a lot of mosquitoes outside at night but I guess this is normal in a open resort. Breakfast was good. Would love to come back

My husband and I spent 8 nights at this resort and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a poolside room which was great. The pool was warm, you could swim or walk in the pool around the resort. Rooms were spacious and everything was spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff in a beautiful garden setting. Breakfast was excellent, also other cafe's and restaurants. Close to beach for cheap massages, manicures and pedicures. Suitable for children, water polo and nets to play games with plenty of balls and pool toys to use.

Room Tip: Poolside with own balcony to slip straight into pool.

Spent 7 days at Angsana Phuket in July 2014. It was a great family holiday, particuarly enjoyed by our 4 year old boy.

It's not a perfect resort, but certainly deserves a very good with some areas that could be improved.

The good;
-Excellent kids club. They run a wide variety of events for kids every day. The staff are engaging and clearly love their jobs and the kids they look after. Our son loved going here every day
-The rooms. We took a premier room with an extra bed for our son. The room was spacious and had a great view over the lagoon. Well equipped with espresso machine. Spotlessly cleaned every day
-Service. The staff are on the whole very well trained, friendly and helpful. Great staff in the restaurants and whenever we called for a request, it was done immediately. Very good.
-Facilities. Sailing boats (Hobie cats), Kayaks and windsurfs available to take out on the lagoon free of charge. Bikes for hire (100b per hour). Great!
-Pool. The pool is fantastic. It goes all around the resort so you can swim and explore at the same time. Great fun

The 'could do better'
-Breakfast. Really unfortunate let down in the Market Place restaurant. Poor quality and selection and very crowded. Not what we expected of a 5* resort. We complained to the hotel during our stay and they explained that they had had a large unexpected number of guests (and obviously tour groups) that had resulted in them compromising on the quality. They upgraded us to the a la carte breakfast at La Bodega, which was much better in terms of quality. However, based on our experience the Market Place breakfast needs a lot of work.
-Shuttle busses. The shuttle buses operate around the Laguna area, which is very convenient. However, they don't go to the nearest town (Chearng Talay), clearly becayse they want you to spend your money in the Laguna resort area. It seems a bit cynical and it would be much better if they extended the shuttle bus the extra 0.5km to town to save everybody the walk.

Tips
-Hire bikes and ride up the road by the beach to the most northen point. It's very quiet and beautiful nature area
-Albatros restaurant at Canal village does excellent Thai food at very reasonable prices. Singha beer on tap is also delicious. Try the local specialities (sour seafood curry and banana blossom salad). Particularly nice in the evening.
-Lotus restaurant on the beach for fresh seafood.
-phuketshuttle.com for airport transfers
-Hire a car for b1,100 per day from the shop next to Lotus restaurant (just behind the resort).
-Bang Pae waterfall, Gibbon project and small restaurant just next to the entrance of the national park area. A great day out.

Dear B_P10,

Thank you for taking the time to share your holiday experience with us and other travelers.

It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed the comfort of your Laguna Premier Room, the many complimentary activities, and most importantly, the genuine Thai hospitality of our staff. It was also great to hear that your son had an unforgettable time at our Tree House Kids Club.

I wish to also thank you for highlighting the areas that could be further improved. We are currently investigating ways to enhance the breakfast ambiance at Market Place, and I hope to share the improvements with you during a future visit.

While I would not recommend this hotel for singles or young couples (due to it's location) it was fantastic as a destination for a family vacation and I would recommend it to people holidaying with children.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom loft was perfect for traveling with an infant.

We spent 4 days here and enjoyed thoroughly. The property and the facilities are well maintained. The breakfast and dinner buffets are sumptuous with a wide spread. We also dined at Bodega(grill) and the Thai Restuarant which cater for those looking for a fine dining option..at this time of they year it was very windy hence the sea was not accessible for a dip.

This property is suitable for families with kids too. They have a great pool that snakes through the property and sufficient activities for kids- kids pool , play area etc

They town near by has fast food options but a taxi would be required to get there.

The staff were friendly and hospitable at all times.
