We stayed in a family room with a 1 yr old and a 4 yr old. The king bed was huge and the outside deck area meant that even with the cot we had plenty of room. We upgraded to club toward the end of the visit and it was worth it as the ladies there totally spoilt the 4yr old. The food is very good. We had a meal next door at Dunsit which was terrible and v overpriced. Definitely go into the village Chaba to a restaurant called Flame. Amazing and cheap. There is a bakery there as well which is fabulous. Pool is great and water slide fantastic. The kids never tired of it. Kids club ok, tucked away and never that full, the eldest went voluntarily but got bored quickly. Overall was a really good holiday and would go again.

This hotel has to offer the most genuine people I've ever seen in any hotel … the service, food, and setting are 2nd to none. If someone is coming to Phuket for the first time, this is a safe location and the employees can't do enough to make your visit a memorable one … including their mascot, Candy, the baby elephant!

Just arrived back from an excellent 3-night stay at the Outrigger Beach Resort in Phuket.

We stayed at what must have been a fairly recently renovated 1-bed suite on and with direct access to a sprawling Bangtao beach. Great views, and the space was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and lounge area. The day-bed in the main sleeping area was covered with sheets and made into a bed for our 3 1/2 year old - it could quite easily accommodate 2 small children being the size of a double bed.

Public spaces and restaurants all very stylish, gardens all landscaped so provide fabulous photo opportunities.

Staff all very helpful and friendly - they even helped fix the sole of my training shoe that had become a bit flappy...

Kids room was fairly basic but we were happy to let our child play in the main pool where the water slide is situated. The twice daily appearance of the baby elephant is great fun for the kids too. Beautiful soft sand on the beach and kids will love playing in the surf too. Should also mention there's free use of kayaks, SUP and other such equipment.

There are local shack-type stores and restaurants on the beach that sell drinks (soft drinks / beers / coconuts etc) and snacks. They look like they're part of the hotel but they're not. We enjoyed the benefits of the Club which meant complimentary drinks there all day and some
snacks at certain times.

Would definitely stay again if bringing kids along...

All the facilities were still in new status and the service quality of the staffs were very nice.

The most surprise for us was that maybe we visited in low season, it upgraded my Deluxe Lagoon Room to Club Lagoon Room with a good discount price upon arrival.

The main benefit of the Club Lagoon Room was that it offered you to have the right to use the "Club" facilities. For instance, the guests might have breakfast more privately in the "Club", the Club provided complimentary soft drinks all the time and even it provided complimentary cocktail in the evening.

Room Tip: try to request for upgrading to Club Lagoon Room with discount price upon arrival, it is really valu...

This is the second year we have gone to Thailand with the kids now. This year they were 9yrs, 6yrs and 4yrs. This hotel is perfect.

There was just enough of everything for them - baby elephant in the morning, beach for sand castles, swimming with great pool that goes to waist height for the two little ones and another pool they all gravitated to with a water slide.

I played a couple of games of squash with my 9yr old. Then went drawing pictures for a bit with my youngest daughter in the kids club.

Restaurant to test out are peppered down the beach. We spent Sonkrat at a beach club called Bliss a bit further down.

Breakfast is good. A huge choice.

We often took the free shuttle us that would leave whenever you wanted - simply turn up at reception and it would arrive within 5mins. There is a fab restaurant called flame that we went to a few times to give the kids a break from us making then eat Thai noodles and rice the whole time on the beach.

Room Tip: We were sea facing second floor 347 and 349 from memory. It was near the pool so down in 30 seconds...

Arrived to a wonderful reception everyone making us feel welcomed
nice cold towel and cold refreshing drink on arrival check in was handled swiftly and we was taken to our room and shown round the hotel, room was great good space and nicely furnished cant fault it.

After a 18 hours of travelling we arrived at 9pm so just wanted to sleep but when we woke up and we walked out and saw the hotel in its true glory AMAZING BEACH AND LAGOONS,so it was off to breakfast witch had a great variety there is something for everyone, then off to grab some towels all included and have a day at the pool and beach were this hotel is at its best just relax and order some beverages and great pool and beach food.

I thought the hotel staff was great always greeting us and smiling cleaners were great and always asking if everything was okay.

Yes eating and drinking in hotel is a tad expensive but witch hotel isn't at the end of the day still cheap compared to regular prices in the united kingdom, make sure you go to BBQ night witch takes place right next to the beach STEAK LOBSTER CHICKEN PORK AND MORE for around 1100 BAHT Well Worth it.

I WILL BE RETURNING TO THIS HOTEL I CANT RATE IT HIGHLY ENOUGH
we was treated like royalty and i have stayed in many great hotels but this is up there with the very best SIMPLY STUNNING.

Bored take a stroll down the beach go left or go right great beach shack shops and restaurants fancy a nice drink drop in at Xana beach club, great Seafood and local food in shacks along the beach you get a real feel for Thai food try something different but a trusty Thai green curry is always available.

Take a stroll outside of the resort you have supermarkets and restaurants and bars at the front if you fancy something different.

You can still do the normal tours and head down to patong or phuket town from this hotel local taxi is available at reception strike a deal barter they love it i went phuket market twice witch I highly recommend.

GREAT HOTEL
GREAT STAFF
GREAT BEACH
GREAT POOLS
GREAT FOOD AND DRINK
GREAT WATER SPORTS witch is free.

AMAZING SIMPLY STUNNING
THANK YOU OUTRIGGER LAGUNA BEACH RESORT PHUKET

Excellent hotel located directly at sea. Great service (although at a price...) and overall friendly, helpful staff. Luxurious setting and atmosphere. Located on a very large property owned by “Laguna” company, hence if you want to go somewhere else, you need a taxi and it will take you from 20-30 minutes easily. Upon checking in they (off course) offer you an upgrade at a “special price” to the next bigger room type in hierarchy, just be prepared.

Concept of hotel is therefore to keep you on premises and make maximal extra money out of you from lunches, dinner etc. Given the large property and number of other, affiliated hotels (which you can go to by free shuttle) , it has a somewhat similar concept as Disney World Orlando.

We stayed for 3 days and made one excursion (Phang Nga bay, must do!) booked by the hotel service and operated by Laguna Tours (yes, they have their own tour operator, buses , boats etc)
So if you want to be pampered at a luxurious hotel, without having to leave it and have the convenience of everything on site: go for it. After travelling Thailand for 1,5 weeks and arranging our trips, hotels, excursions, restaurants etc ourselves, we choose this hotel for 3 days of relaxation at the beach and it fits the bill completely. Would not be our choice for a longer period (more than a few days), then the isolated location becomes too much of a problem. What’s the point then in travelling half the world to Thailand, if you are not going to see the country itself?
But we really enjoyed our stay at Outrigger.

One thing to consider: we were there at low season (may 6 – may 9) and occupancy was low enough not to have any problems whatsoever with access to facilities, availability of food a buffets etc.. We did notice a pretty high percentage of Russian guests although and they completely lived up to their boorish reputation. I can imagine that this gets irritating in high season.

Last but not least: location at a laguna means there are rats nearby and we had some in the hollow room above the ceiling and nibbling at the door at night (so not in the room!), so if that’s a showstopper for you.
