“Sun lizards haven!”
Reviewed 23 October 2007

Phuket Pavilions is a sun lizard's haven! We booked into the 1 bedroom pool villa - wow! It’s huge! The infinity pool stretches the entire length of the villa from bedroom to living room - sheer indulgence for sun lizards. Loved the unobstructed view from the bedroom and the living room overlooking the pool and the ocean. You can choose to take a nap under the shady sala next to the pool to cool down. Thai massage in the room is a must! The bar at the top of the property is built around the natural forest - worth a visit. Hotel staff generally observes the privacy of guests and only turn up when you ask them to. The property is perched on the hills, and you get around from reception to your villa to the bar with the hotel buggy. Will definitely return to Phuket Pavilions when visiting Phuket!

  • Liked — the spaciousness of the pool villa, the generous pool size, and the view to die for!
  • Disliked — the bugs from the forest

We got a three bedroom villa, I asked one bedroom villa though. This is nice. But, the construction noise from just next villa was horrible. During our vacation, the jack-hammering would begin early in the morning. I couldnt relax at the villa. Moreover, the three bedroom villa has no view at all... So, we asked to change to one bedroom. But, no rooms are available. This was not exactly the relaxing stay which we had expected, and the Pavilions'staff did not appear to care about the situation. In fact, we got the feeling that they were tired of hearing guests repeatedly complain.

Another disappointing aspect of our stay was the terrible front desk staff. The women (long hair) at the front desk/reception, in particular, were unfriendly. When I ask to change a villa, they said that the villa is ready around morning time. So, we went to Patong beach for shopping and tour. We got into the Pavilions at 3 but villa was still not ready. I was so upset. Moreover, I went to seafood restaurant outside of the resort and they suppose to pick me up but never show up...

When I check out, I and my hubby complained things I mentioned. But he never say I am sorry...What should I expect from this resort...

On the positive side of things, 360 dining is stunning. Must visti around 5:30~6:30 when is happy hour.

So, it's a mixed bag at the Pavilions, but I certainly would not recommend anyone booking this property.

What an amazing Honeymoon! We had five glorious nights at the Pavilions after a couple of nights stay in Bangkok. It all began when we were greeted by our butler “Nutt” . Nutt escorted us upstairs to the main lobby, where we were offered a drink, refreshing washcloth and my wife was given a lovely bunch of flowers. We were driven by buggie to our villa. We had done our research on different accommodation in Thailand and after reading the reviews and seeing the photos on this site we decided to stay at the Pavilions. Even with seeing numerous photos of the villa we were still totally blown away when we walked in and knew right then and there that we had made the right decision. Everything was bigger then we had imagined and the attention to detail was amazing. Being our honeymoon we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne, a fruit platter and on our bed were towels that had been transformed into two gorgeous swans. Awaiting us was a prepared bath filled with scented floating flowers. After showing us around our villa Nutt gave us a business card with his mobile number and told us if there was anything we needed to give him a call any time of the day, he also mentioned if we could not get a hold of him through the main desk that we could call him on his mobile. This sort of service was not something we are a custom to back in Australia. At one stage Nutt had gone to the local village to get us some Aloe Vera for our sun burns so we did not have to miss the cocktail happy hour. Nothing was ever a problem and every request was met with a simile and genuine sincerity.
We were given one of the villas we had requested #13. We requested 13 or 15 after reading that they were the best villas. A couple of staff had also mentioned that 13 was one of the best villas. I would imagine that 11,13,15,17 would be the pick of the lot as you will have unobstructed views of the ocean. If you are after privacy then this is your place. We did not hear or see any one while in our villa. We also did not need to bring a bathing suit. (As the motto says “No Tan Lines”)
The meals were good, although some of the portions were small. My favourite was the banana pancakes which I had every morning. We also enjoyed the Pad Thai for dinner. Breakfast was included in our package and we were able to order as much as we wanted. If this is not the case for you then we suggest that you eat in the restaurant as they have complimentary breads, fruit, yogurt, salmon as opposed to room service.
We made happy hour almost every night which is good value. Our waiter most nights was Bird who was Brilliant! They have some unusual drinks like Espresso Martini and a Chilli Moon Martini that were very tasty. Our favourite was the Pina Colada. Just beware the happy hour is one for one, which means your second drink has to be the same as your first. We thought this was odd as the cocktails were the same price but all the drinks were good and after a couple it really didn’t make a difference.
The resort provides a shuttle bus to the local shops at Laguna (not worth going) and to the beach about 6 times a day (Didn’t make the beach). One day we asked to go into a local shop to get a few things. We were given a ride by Martin another one of the Pallivians fantastic staff members. He was so accommodating he even went into the shops to help translate any thing we had problems with.
The only thing we thought could be improved is for them to provide a free shuttle bus once a day to Patong Beach, as other local Hotels in the area provide this. To visit Patong Beach from the Laguna village cost approx 600 Bhat each way or a limo is provided from the Pavilions for 900 Baht. We also experienced the in room spa treatment, which consisted of a 30 min body scrub, 1hr body massage and a 1 1/2 hour facial. We both agreed it was one of, if not the best massage that we ever had. If your looking to get pampered and do not want to leave your room then this is the way to go.
Over all this place is amazing and we would highly recommend it for honeymoon couples and any other couples that are looking for a private quiet get away with first class service.

We have just recently returned from a ten day stay in Thailand (5 days of which were spent at ‘Phuket Pavilions’). After growing tired of always being apart the love of my life, of whom I hadn't been reunited with in basically 5 years, and I decided to meet in Thailand. I live in South Korea and he in Canada. We booked the intimate honeymoon package (which was a wonderful price during low season-though we were not on our honeymoon) and made our ways to Phuket. Out of excitement we had checked tripadvisor on an almost daily basis so we had read all of the wonderful reviews and had seen all of the beautiful pictures. I have to say despite that fact we were still blown away. I am still in awe sometimes when I look at the pictures we took and how beautiful the room and the surroundings were. I, in particular, loved the beautiful high ceilings, the gorgeous bathroom, the infinity pool (which was definitely private and could cater to those wanting to take advantage of the promise of no tan lines), the tropical surroundings, the view of the sea from our bedroom, and the pool side bed. I also have to say I was thrilled to have such a comfortable bed (after sleeping on the hard ones here in Korea) and a large bath tub with room for two. The size of the fridge in the kitchenette was handy as well. We were able to bring food and drinks from the small town nearby and stock it if we pleased, though the prices were reasonable within the mini-bar itself. We enjoyed the complete privacy and wonderful service. And there was always a small crowd at the 360 bar during happy hour if you felt the need to mingle with people. The meals were superb and I was extremely happy with the breakfasts as well. We were even served heart-shaped waffles, which was a nice, little touch.
With the honeymoon package we received a dinner for two which consisted of fresh prawn, duck, rice, fresh fruit, bubbly, and peanut/chicken sautés (all of the main dishes were doused with wonderful Thai sauces). It was served poolside with candles and was very romantic. We also had a 1 hour couple’s massage included in the package that was done in the room and it was extremely relaxing and very professional. We were very pleased and very lethargic afterwards.
We traveled several times outside of the hotel and were conveniently provided with a shuttle service and if we wanted to go in another direction, such as Patong, were able to pay a driver. Upon leaving the hotel we were to be provided with airport shuttle but we were headed to Koh Phi Phi. The hotel instead drove us to the ferry port at no cost. The service at the hotel was great and the staff, despite suggestions in any previous reviews, was friendly, well organized, and always eager to be of assistance. The rooms were always meticulous (our clothes on one occasion had even been folded). I have highly recommended this place to other couples. It was a dream spot for us. I’m not sure how our real honeymoon will compare (any suggestions?). After the trip we have gone back to our different countries once again and continue to talk about our wonderful stay in Thailand. This was a great way to be introduced into the country and back to each other. We have some wonderful memories of our stay at the Pavilions and think this is definitely a perfect place to go if you are on a honeymoon or trying to rekindle any sparks. It really just becomes you and your partner and it is a terrific way to get to know each other all over again! We have plans of hopefully doing Thailand again in the works before I head home to Canada so we may be back! Any questions don’t hesitate to ask…

My wife & I just returned from a three night stay at Pavilions, which concluded a three week trip throughout Thailand & Cambodia. We could not have picked a better place to conclude our vacation. The villas are beautiful and staff is attentive. They work very hard to please and are still learning a bit; however they do a very good job. The “no-tan-lines” tag line is true, as the villas are very private. There may be a few places in the pool where another pavilions may be able to see you, but those spaces are very small and limited. The resort is billed as an “intimate escape” and that is exactly what it is. Don’t go to Pavilions unless you want to spend most of the day secluded with a significant other. The personal iPod, the DVD player, and in villa dining are all excellent touches. Pavilions is really a great value for the room, dining, and drinks. The place is a wonderful place to relax and is perfect for romance.
