“A decent stay could have been better”
Reviewed 17 August 2012 via mobile

We visited in January for 6 nights and stayed for three nights in a penthouse apartment and 3 nights in the pool villa. The hotel is very private and is set in beautiful gardens. The plus points are the bar and the happy hour cocktails and snack menu. The serving staff in the hotel were very friendly, but there was a feeling of a lack of senior management and generally we were not made to feel particularly welcome. The reception staff were short on local ideas and recommendations and their local restaurant choices were not great. The penthouse, whilst enormous, is rather lacking in character and I don't think is worth the extra money. The pool villa was beautiful, but be warned, they suffer from insect infestations from time to time, which are beyond the control of the hotel. Overall it is a very nice hotel.

I opted for the VIP pickup from the hotel which meant me and my girlfriend were met off the plane by a team of 3 people (pre immigration) who guided us to our carousel where we collected our bags - this service was nice, but probably unnecessary but it was a nice touch. The VIP pickup car was a nice new Toyota which was clean and spacious and was setup with cold water bottles and delicious fresh fruit plus some apt 'welcome to paradise' music. It set the mood really well as our friendly and funny driver (Bee) introduced us to Phuket.

Check in at the hotel was simple - we just handed our passports to the staff and lounged on a couch enjoying the lobbys exceptional view, then were greeted the the hotel manager which was also a nice classy touch for our arrival.

First impressions of the ocean view villa were that of amazement and awe. Having studied the room plans and 3D images on the hotel website I had a pretty good idea what to expect. My expectations were exceeded as the villa (#9) was quite considerably bigger than I had expected. A large spacious living room with a small kitchenette attached leading out to a patio and out big private infinity pool was a sight to behold. All very clean without being sterile, this place has some character that many brand new build hotels lack.

the bedroom was also bigger and nice than expected with extremely high ceilings and a massive dressing room and bathroom complete with the biggest bath ive ever had the pleasure of bathing in.

The staff in the hotel were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Transportation around the hilly hotel premises is done by free silent electric golf carts. A quick call to reception and a smiling face is waiting outside your villa in a few minutes.

At breakfast we were greeted by name (nice touch from staff members we had not yet met) and unlimited champagne cocktails were a great bonus. The ala carte section of the breakfast menu was extensive and very tasty, Eggs Benedict and Royale being personal favourites. The buffet had a good selection of breads, cereals, fresh fruits and asian breakfast (fried rice and normally pork or chicken and fish options). Something i had no tried before but was impressed with was tempura mushrooms at breakfast time, i'd foolishly thought that tempura was a post 11am option but it really was delicious and surprisingly fitting.

Ordered once from room service and the food was excellently cooked, presented and delivered very promptly (within 20mins of ordering).

Opting for the amore package meant we had a champagne candle lit dinner included in the package, this again was exceptional. Some fresh local fish - soft shell crab and crispy pork made up the Thai meal option and did not disapoint.

The included 90min massage was one of the best ive had. The staff set up unintrusively in your villa and then carry out as good a massage as ive had in Asia.

All in all, i cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the overall experience and I hope to return soon. the location is not really close to any 'action' in Phuket (10mins by free shuttle to local - Laguna area with a supermarket + wine shop + restaurants etc etc - was certainly enough to cater for our needs). If you are looking for a busy nightlife this may not be the perfect place for you but a few days here is peaceful and very relaxing.

We didnt use the beach at so cannot comment on this. No 'fitness centre' apart from the pools as far as i am aware hence the 3star rating on that. This hotel is not cheap but you really do get what you pay for - the amore package was perfect for us and I personally think that I would have opted for cheaper local spa facilities had i not gone for this option which would have meant missing out on a great massage.

Thanks to all the staff, will be recommending this place to any friends and family that are going to Phuket in the future.

Wow, this was wonderful! One of those places where 4 or 5 days could be spent without leaving the room, so large, comfortable and private that you could well consider yourselves royalty.

The pool allows for skinny dipping, the outdoor sala the same. If you have a honeymoon coming up I wouldn't hesitate. You can even start your day with a glass of Bubbly at the superb Buffet Breakfast.

Finally don't let the photo's give you an impression, reality surpasses the photographers skill.

The downside is its very isolated but, hey, sometimes that's exactly what we all need.

Room Tip: Any room is magical!

Stayed 3 days at this resort, in their Spa and Pool Pavilion.

The staffs are friendly and always there to assist, checking-in and out was done promptly. The service standard is very good.

The Spa and Pool Pavilion is huge, with a private spa room.

Their SONOS sound systems has a large variety of different genres of music, speakers are located in the living room, bedroom and the bathroom, not connected to the Spa room. So need not connect to my own iPod, even though I bought along.

The bed has two different sets of pillow for each individual, one soft and another firmer one.

The infinity pool has steps, equipped with night-lights and places to sit.

The food at the restaurant is good, accompanied with great ambience and scenery.

I visited the resort's private beach (Layan beach), it is very isolated, almost no one else in sight. It's truly a quiet getaway.

Not many resorts have a no under 16 policy, so it is a different but a great experience.

It is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, definitely worth another visit.

Just a little note, the Wifi signal in the room area is quite weak.

WHAT A PLACE!
Just fantastic. To the wonderful staff-whatever you are doing, please just keep on doing it.
We had a flawless stay......always had the very real feeling that ANYTHING you required was just a phone call away....thats if they hadn't anticipated it already.
The music at brekky, the music in your room....just wonderful. The housekeepers-wonderful.
The room itself? The BEST room we have stayed at any hotel, ever. We had a penthouse spa room, it was double story, and HUGE. Pool is heaven. Privacy is absolute bliss, they totally respect that its 'couples time' and they encourage it! No tan lines........yippee!
Breakfast was inpeccable-not the most massive selection, but what they did have was all class.
Had drinks at 360 bar, cocktails were ok, but not brilliant, and neither was the tapas. Not that they were bad, just probably not as outstanding as everything else about the hotel.
Complimentary car service to take you into town and pick you up-just wonderful-felt a little bit like royalty-in fact we had that feeling for most of our 4 night stay.
A spa and sauna IN YOUR OWN ROOM? How cool is that! It was heaven getting all hot in the sauna, having a quick shower, and then quickly running into your very own very cool pool!
Keep up the great work guys. You all deserve a pat on the back. WE WILL BE BACK! (we hope)

Room Tip: The penthouse is stunning, if money is no object, but the standard spa and pool pavilion is just bri...

It was the perfect honeymoon getaway, we loved the resort so much we barely left. Breakfast was wonderful with western and Thai speciality dishes. We also enjoyed the pool in the suite with lots of R&R.

.........my BF and I stepped into the car sent by the resort to pick us up at the airport, upon entry in the car; there were fresh fruits, fresh cold bottled water and cold towels for us in the back seat. The car was lovely and from the time we landed all we had to do was enjoy. The car had a pavilions logo on it and the driver was very friendly.
He spoke to us on the way telling us what the places we passed were and how long it would take to get to the hotel. Upon arrival at the resort we were whisked to our beautiful private pool ad spa villa where we checked in, in the comfort of our villa. The pictures on the website look great but they do not do justice to the actual place, it’s marvellous and we had an excellent stay. The private pool was spotless and so was the villa. The weather was lovely and we swam anytime we liked. The resort highly regards romance and they definitely act and show it, its evident in their rooms with a lovely welcome letter, bed time notes and scents they set up during the turn down service.
The stewards were always a call away and a little buggy was available to carry you wherever you wanted to go at the resort. The dinner at the 360 bar and the plantations restaurant was awesome and they both had a lovely view. We were treated like a prince and princess the whole time we were at the resort and I wished we could stay there for good. Check out was as swift as our check in.
We are definitely going back there again and I would highly recommend this place. The service was "excellent". I am very particular about service and the nature and state of where I stay on holidays but I had absolutely no complaint at the pavilions
If you are looking for a romatic slice of heaven with absolute excellence, this is it
