We were met with tall glasses of cool lemongrass juice, a stunning view of the ocean and smiles at the airy lobby of the Pavilions. We had booked an Ocean View Pool Villa online, and after a quick check-in, we sped up the hill in a buggy to our villa.

Quaint wooden doors, a stone Ganesha and a tortoise in a pool lead up to a large living room with a deep sofa facing a wide-screen TV, (perfect for watching all the movies you can borrow from the Recreation Centre), beyond which glass doors show you a tantalising blue glimpse of the infinity pool and the ocean beyond. The bedroom also has glass doors that lead straight out into the pool, and the bathroom is large and well-appointed. The slope of the hill offers you complete privacy, and the pool is clean and inviting.

The food at the restaurant is tasty, though the portions are a bit small. Breakfast was excellent though, we loved the waffles and the eggs Benedict. The Recreation Centre lends out DVDs for free, and you can sit in the plush sofas and play Scrabble and a couple of other boardgames they have there. The souvenir store stocks some pretty jewellery as well. There's also a shuttle to the beach and a market nearby that operates on a fixed schedule.

Our stay was filled with small surprises - treats left on our pillows, a complimentary foot-massage, an invitation for an evening of cocktails and conversation with the hotel's senior management. We spent the first four days of our honeymoon at the Pavilions and everything was just as we'd expected it to be. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our lives together.

My husband and I stayed at Phuket Pavilions for 6 nights.

The villa is amazing, large, clean and fully equiped. The pool is gorgeous and providing your neighbours are quiet, it is very very relaxing.

The downside of this resort is the food. The menus are far too big to have all fresh food and most of the food (except breakfast, which was very good) tasted pre-cooked or from the freezer.

We ate in the 360 bar on our first night. Not only did we have to contend with cockroaches skuttling around the floor but a family with 5 very very noisy children. This resort clearly states no children under 16 are allowed, however, this family were visiting from another resort and were only dining at PP. The children were running around and making a lot of noise.

The food was average at best.

The second night we ate in The Plantation Club. No children this time and no cockroaches, but the food was no better.

After that we ate in our villa, food was slightly better or ate out of PP.

The villas do make up for the bad food, they truely are amazing, however, the villas do provide i-pods which can disturb the quiet and relaxation of the neighbouring villas, we had such a problem from our neighbours every morning from 8am!

When all is quiet you really do feel like you're in heaven. The staff are very attentive and service was excellent.

Dear Madame, Dear Sir,

it is a pleasure to read that overall you enjoyed your holiday, the villa and service. However I am sorry that you didn't find the food to your liking.
Our Chef had the opportunity to speak with you during your stay. I also met you at the end of your stay and I am grateful for your feedback which we take in a constructive manner.
We look forward to welcoming you back at Pavilions.

Warm regards

Pavillions is a perfect spot that brings you a happy place where you can read in a very relax environment, meditated in different spots of the villa, pamper your self with the spa in villa services, enjoy the sun of thailand in your private silent terrace with pool, eat wonderful upscale food, chill out in the 360 lounge and be glad with the staff service.
Love this place!
Don't think about it, if you can afford it, just go & enjoy...

We believe the above title tells the story well. We just returned from a 2-week stay at the Pavilions, the perfect place for romance and couples. We have now gone there four years in a row. This was our longest and best visit so far (and all of our visits have been great!). When leaving, we booked another 2-week holiday there for February 2011, which will make it 5 years in a row.

We could write a very long review listing all of the great aspects of our stay, but it would be repeating many comments made by other people in their Tripadvisor reviews over the last year. The resort itself is great, and has been improving year by year. However, the people are the reason we keep returning. JC and Sophie, the two managers, lead a great team of individuals who make the guests feel very welcome and special. We highly recommend Pavilions.

If your looking for perfection this still is it.

The staff are amazing and despite needing a lick of paint here and there now it still is a million miles ahead of the game. The only slight niggle was when a owned property nearby was having some work done and it killed the calmness for 2 days, to make up for this management gave us a bottle of wine, and offered to move us straight away.

It's been a while since we stayed at the Phuket Pavilions, but I thought better late than never for a review.

Phuket Pavilions is, in my opinion, the perfect location for a honeymoon. It is private, romantic, spotless...an absolute paradise. My husband and I were so impressed the moment we set foot into the resorts. The villas are more than you can ask for - a true home away from home (actually, I would prefer it to my home :). From the cozy living area, kitchen (if you need to use it), bedroom, to the spacious and lovely bathroom, it is top-class all the way. I especially loved the large walk-in shower with the rainfall showerhead; along with the Jasmine-scented toiletries, it really makes you feel like you're in the middle of a tropical paradise!
The large private infinity pool is definitely the best feature of the villa, with spectacular views of the city.

We only had breakfast in the resort restaurant and must say it was amazing food! There is limited variety, but what they do have will not disappoint.

I must echo everyone else's sentiments on the level of service here - every member of the staff is more than happy to help you, always prompt and friendly. You really get the royal treatment.

My husband works in a 5-diamond hotel in North America and said that Phuket Pavilions is 8.5 stars. He is also very hard to impress, so that is a huge statement, coming from him. We both talk about Phuket Pavilions quite often and cannot wait to go back. I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a quiet, romantic, luxurious getaway.

PS: Don't forget to get yourselves a massage (or 2.. or 3 like I did) - you are in Thailand afterall! :)

Was told about this hotel and it's amazing pool villas. But wasn't told you have to take a car to the beach. Due to it's location on a hill it's difficult to walk which makes being on teh resort a little restrictive. Liked the bar at the top and the food was okay. Small hotel suitable for couples who prefeer to lie around a pool for their whole holiday. Set out of the way and not close to anything really! But it does have a good view of the ocean..

Dear Madame, Dear Sir,

We are sorry that your stay did not correspond to your expectations.
We emphasize the fact that The Pavilions is a secluded romance destination, offering a unique experience of space and total privacy with a great view, which seems to be enjoyed by the vast majority of our guests, a number of whom have returned their comments on TripAdvisor.
We are located on a hill 30 minutes' drive from the busy Patong area and 5 minutes from Layan Beach with regular shuttle service from the hotel.
