“Great family friendly holiday apartments”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

We stayed at Baan Puri, apartment B26, a two bed apartment, for a week in April. It was great - the apartment was lovely, very comfortable and spacious and nicely decorated.

There are 56 apartments in the resort, but the pool and restaurant were never over crowded. The pool was fabulous, a lovely organic shape with a great kids pool, just deep in enough for my 3 1/2 year old to stand in, she spent many happy hours practicing her swimming and diving to get stones. There was a general friendly vibe around the resort, we chatted to many of the others staying and the kids played together.

The food at the restaurant / bar was great, a mix of Thai and Western dishes set next to the pool; simple and reasonably priced; managed in a laid back, almost backpacker-hostel way, rather than with attentive Thai service - but that didn't bother us much. I heard it may be taken over soon so I hope that the quality of the food does not change.

The location is also good, a short walk (5min) to restaurants, mini marts, massages, bars and Bang Tao beach. However, we preferred Surin beach, a 5 min car ride away - though it was a shame that the beach and seawater wasn't cleaner - that's a Phuket problem generally though, I believe.

All in all, a great apartment for a laid back tropical break.

Room Tip: Rental of the apartments seems to be via a number of different agencies; ours (B26) was on the secon...

As a family of five Baan Puri was perfect for us. Two bedrooms with three single beds in the kids room, big master bedroom and direct pool access so no worrying about stairs when something was forgotten pool side.
Bangtao beach area and Baan Puri offers peace away from the craziness of places like Patong. The area is more laid back there are plenty of places to eat. If you want an authentic Thai massage, speak to Jason at the bar who I'm sure will direct you to a lady named Butsaya who will punish your body for at least an hour and you will thank her for it afterwards.
The apartment was perfectly clean, my understanding is that these apartments have different housekeeping staff contracted, our staff were fantastic.
We hired a car for one week from Andaman car rental and was perfect for taking ourselves to the Phuket attractions we wanted to see, renting a car is by far the most economical way to move around.
The pool is fantastic, usually only a few families using it at any one time.
As far as apartment living is concerned, it was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped, not that we cooked for ourselves and the restaurant and bar is happy to serve ( food prices are same as the local restaurants).
Certainly worth consideration when planning on a trip to this part of Phuket.

We had a wonderful holiday in your vacation apartment in March 2014 for two weeks. We arrived late in the evening from a long flight & our driver was waiting for us just outside the arrivals hall. We were taken straight to Baan Puri & after a brief checkin process we were shown directly to our room. We were helped with our baggage & given a brief rundown on how everything worked before being left to settle in.
The apartment is on the second floor but as long as you don't have any mobility issues it won't be a problem. We managed several times a day with a toddler & stroller. I think bring on the second level added to the privacy & peace & quiet of the apartment.
The apartment was fantastic. It was clean, spacious & had all of the facilities to make the stay comfortable. Full kitchen, wifi, pay tv, in room safe etc. We also loved the high chair and portacot which came in very handy with our toddler.
The pool & gardens are well maintained & many hours were spent down there. We also used the gym quite a bit, treadmill came in very handy to work off all of the banana pancakes!
The on site restaurant was quite handy, with several meals enjoyed there both dining in and takeaway, with everything we sampled being delicious.
It was only a few hundred metres walk to other restaurants, mini mart, laundry etc with Bang Tao Beach just a little further past that. Bang Tao Beach is very family friendly, 8k long, small surf & goes in very gradually, perfect for our toddler.
We contacted CBRE & were able to organise Khun Daow to babysit for us a couple of times in the evenings. Khun Daow works on site & was absolutely lovely, no hesitation in using her services.
We enjoyed a couple of days out but spent most of our time enjoying the pool and beaches (we also went to Surin a couple of times).

All in all it was smooth sailing, from our initial enquiry to check out, everything was well organised & there were no hassles. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay in your beautiful apartment. Would not hesitate to recommend to family & friends.

My trip was done up to the last hour. Due to some logistic problems, I looked for an accommodation in phuket only a couple of days before my arrival.
Ian the manager of this property helped me tremendously. He understood my desperation and worked his magic to put me up at this place, considering it was the peak period.

I stayed for 4 nights and had to change apartments once after the 3rd day due to availability but it was all done seamlessly. Kung Deow was very helpful throughout our stay!

Our first apartment was on the ground floor with direct access to the swimming pool. Lots of toys and pool floats available which provided hours of great delight n fun for my 3yr old daughter.
Since we had 5 adults, The 2nd bedroom was set up with an extra super single bed and still the room didnt seem cramped. The rooms are basically clean and quite spacious with tastefully decorated paintings and ornaments.
Living room consist of a sofa bed and a lounger. There are DVD player and cable box though 70% of the channels are not available. In the master bedroom also they provide a flat screen tv and DVD player. Just bring your thumbdrive and you can watch your movies easily (that's what i did)
The only major problem about the ground flr apartments were the mosquitoes. Though i cant say ive been bitten but once you open the balcony door they all come charging in.

The 2nd apartment we changed to was on the 1st floor. Access was abit out of the way, you have to go round the back of the building. And there are no lifts but not a problem for me. Great thing was there are no mosquitoes and we could sit out the balcony which overlooks the kid's pool.
There is only one TV in the living room and its the old box TV. DVD and cable box also available.

For Muslims (like me) food is soo easy to find. just rent a bike for 250 baht a day and go to the bang tao village which is predominantly muslim with a few mosques along the way. A meal for 6 pax with 5 dishes costs about 350baht. They also have their night markets on Thursdays and Fridays.

Pros - Big apartment, spacious rooms
- Full set of cutleries and even kids bowls and plates. Kitchen fully equipped with microwave and oven n hot plates.
- Great for kids. Lots of toys provided and pool floats and toys as well. Kids pool available
- Food easily accessible. TESCO only 8 mins ride away. Restaurants & massages & laundry just 3 min walk out along the Bang Tao beach
- Helpful staff
- Quiet, far away from the populated area. But still within walking distance.
- baby cots available upon request. comfy beds and lots of pillows.

Cons - Ground floor always infested with mosquitoes. maybe should do something about it, regular fogging?
- Bang Tao is quite far away from the activities and city centre. One way taxi to Patong might cost you 600-700baht.
- the apartments settings are not standardised. In my 2nd apartment there are no toys, and the DVD was unable to read my thumbdrive. There was a baby cot and baby high chair but no child cutleries.

I would still consider to return to this place since my daughter had a great time.

Room Tip: If you have kids, choose the ground floor for direct access to the swimming pool. But mind the mosqu...

House keeping stole small amounts of money from our room on two occasions. When we reported this to management we were told it was our own fault for not locking valuables away. Disgusting attitude and customer 7378423 from senior staff. Also the hotel is noisy - thin walls mean guests loud voices are easily heard, dog fights and noise from the pool. I would not recommend this hotel.

We have been to thailand many times before but this was our first with out children (1&3). We were pretty cautious over thai belly as this with kids would not be fun. The rooms are spacious and very clean with good kitchens to make breakfast lunch bottles etc. A few local shops to help you create a few meals - tesco up on the main road could sort most things. the restaurant by the pool served excellent thai and western food and was very clean. jason would do anything for you - a true gent. We ate here most nights as it was so easy for the kids.
pool was excellent with kiddies end, river and (more grown up) main pool.
excellent gym and reception staff.
5-10 min walk to beach which was nice and shallow and shaded in the morning. nice too for a walk (with pram) and sundowner. could also walk to surin for a change - very different! We preferred bang tao beach - much more easy going.
These really are good apartments for people who want a relaxing time whilst retaining their independence.
liked it so much we are looking to go back in April!!

Really enjoyed our trip to Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand. 1st class facilities at Baan-Puri Apts. and only 300mtr from lovely Bang Tao Beach. The staff could not be more helpful and the atmosphere is so relaxing, I certainly intend returning to Baan-Puri.

We stayed in Apt A5 which was immaculate: http://bit.ly/YH7dmD

P.S. Everything is so cheap in Thailand, car rental.....£10 a day, motorbike rental,,, £3 - £4 a day.

Overall - a fantastic break, hope to return soon.
