We headed out to Loch Coruisk with the Misty Isle the other day and what a trip we had. The crew were first class, informative, friendly and especially good to our wee boys allowing them to "drive" the boat (captains hat and all). We had a great trip out and enjoyed a wonder round Loch Coruisk following the tips from the crew about where to find the best views. We then headed back and were nearly at shore when the crew were informed about a pod of dolphins. Instead of heading back to shore they took us out to find the dolphins and find them they did!! An amazing experience and so so good of Misty Isle to extend our trip so we could see the dolphins. If you are coming to Skye Misty Isle must be on your to do list!

Today we enjoyed the 'standard' 3hr return afternoon trip to Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Black Cuillin. If there is a more peaceful and incredibly scenic spot anywhere in the British Isles I'd like to see it. The weather and scenery were stunning. The crew were friendly and entertaining. On the way back to Elgol, upon receiving a radio report of dolphins elsewhere in the bay they detoured half way to the Isle of Soay to find the pod -and cap off a memorable day for us all!

We had a lovely trip over to Loch Coruisk with Misty Isle Boat Trips. The scenery is spectacular, the seals are playful, and the Misty Isle crew provided plenty of entertainment with their patter. An excellent morning out!

Family run business employing locals sustainably with real feeling for environment/posterity. These are the folks you can depend on to take you to coruisk and other island trips. The Misty Isle is a beautiful boat which has been taking me to and fro for decades now. The scenery is breathtaking with something for everyone. Take a wee short trip or a longer combination such as a walk back. This is a unique place where huge mountains meet the sea and you can enjoy it all so much more on a leisurely boat trip . Allow plenty of time for travel on busy passing place roads. Public toilet still open at Elgol and toilet on boat. No mobile phone signal locally.

As regular visitors to Elgol we took the opportunity to take several trips with Misty Isle Boat Trips. You have numerous options - a short trip which gives you half an hour ashore which is ample time to walk from the landing steps along the River Scavaig to the Loch. The scenery is magnificent. We opted for longer trips with more time ashore to allow us to explore the area surrounding the Loch and on one occasion walk round it (good footwear recommended). The Crew and staff were excellent, with good knowledge of the local area, wildlife (seabirds and seals aplenty) and surrounding islands,as well as being very accommodating with passengers. (You can vary your trip length almost to suit your needs - as they have several boats - you can come back on a sister boat if it helps to fit in with your plans or you can go one way if you plan to walk in/walk out of Elgol or if you are being more adventurous and walking further afield say over to Sligahan via Sgurr Hain. It was always nice to get back to the boat and be met by friendly faces offering a drink and biscuit. (I loved the hot chocolate - especially after a dip in the sea). Many thanks to all the team - Skippers James and Thomas, crew Fiona and Seumas and land crew Anne and Roderick. We'll be back.
