“Absolutely Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2014

This is an amazing place :-). We were so lucky to spend 3 nights here and we would highly recommend this place to anyone driving by or past towards Abel Tasman National Park. Stan and Jenny were great hosts and ever so helpful, doing anything they could to help us (which was a lot seeing as we don't drive). Breakfast was a beautiful spread and again, you could have anything that you wished for (ok maybe not anything!). We found the place to be really spacious especially with only one other room and though the other room had different occupants every night we were there we really saw them or had to share the lovely pool/hot tub.

The Tasman Store does good sandwiches and Mapua Wharf has several amazing places to eat.

Def sad when we left and we hope to be back whenever we come back to NZ. Stay here, you won't regret it!

We loved everything about our stay at Wharetutu. The B&B is beautiful with spectacular views and designed for privacy in the bedrooms, but then has ample areas for guests to relax (pool, patio, tv room/lounge, kitchenette). In addition to the wonderful accommodation, the hosts, Jenny and Stan, were so welcoming and helpful. They went out of there way to make sure we had a great time. Also, it's in a perfect location for exploring the Abel Tasman with great restaurants down the road in Mapua.

We loved this well build and designed property. The rooms are contemporary and it has a pool an hottub. In new zealand u are often dependant on b&b's. And this one sets the bar! We had lovely breakfast and sat in the sun. Lovely place!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed with these delightful people and they always exceed expectations.their hospitality is 2nd to none, sumptuous breakfasts with a great choice and varied menu.

Ideally situated for a stop before going to Abel Tasman approximately 2.5 hours from The Picton Ferry. Heated swimming pool with views to die for.

The only downside was that we had to leave!

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms which are very similar.

We spent two delightful nights at this beautiful purpose built B&B in Upper Moutere. We were warmly greeted by our hostess Jenny and were shown to our lovely room which opened on to a very private terrace.

The B&B has a separate lounge for guests as well as a separate dining area where guests could heat up food in a micro wave. There is also a large refrigerator where you could store cold provisions.

We opted to eat out each night and Jenny and Stan suggested two lovely places to eat. We ate at the Big Apple on the first night and the Jellyfish Restaurant on the second night. Both served good food.

Jenny and Stan served up a wonderful breakfast each morning and a bonus for us was that we were able to do our washing whilst there. After 9 days on the road, it was great to have everything freshly laundered and ironed.

We would return again to Wharetutu if we were ever in the area again as Jenny and Stan are great hosts and their luxurious home is fantastic being situated on a hill with great views.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely with great views.

Dear Stan and Jenny
Exceeding the stunning weather was your wonderful hospitality which helped make such a memorable occasion during our week long stay for a family wedding. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere you both created combined with the tranquil views and modern comfortable facilities. We were very grateful for such comfortable beds re-arranged by Stan to suit our needs and for all the trouble you went to, Jenny, in sourcing low salt bread needed for health reasons. The younger members, of course, loved the spa pool whereas my brother said everything was way beyond all his expectations, especially the fresh wholesome breakfasts. It says it all, that we would all love to stay again and again.

Happy and well-nourished, we arrive at Wharetutu B&B. Beautifully set on two acres of landscaped gardens and olive grove, this entirely black-coloured mansion has uninterrupted views of mountains, the estuary, vineyards, orchards, and open countryside. Unfortunately, it’s already too cold to have a swim in the pool or relax in the hot tub, but we enjoy a BBQ in the evening. Jenny and Stan are both fond of children, open-minded, endearing and caring hosts. Stan’s Eggs Benedict for breakfast are great.
