Just coming to the end of a 1 week break here via Inntravel. Weather perfect. Accommodation excellent. This area is totally unspoiled and very relaxing. Lucy and Angel are great hosts and cook superb food. Plenty of decent walks in this area and the notes supplied by Inntravel were very comprehensive . Highly recommended.

Angel & Lucy are very welcoming and knowledgeable, accommodation was most comfortable and warm, great walking in the area and we had lots of sunshine - can thoroughly recommend this as a winter break. Nice to know the posada was forward thinking environmentally.

The Posada is really cosy and comfortable. Our room on the ground floor had a big shared terrace with a view over the garden, swimming pool and the oak covered hills behind.. It was incredibly peaceful with only the sound of the church bells. We had excellent breakfasts and three great dinners cooked by Lucy which included greens from their garden. The village is small and lovely with enough restaurants and bars to try the local cuisine. The walking is wonderful- up and down wooded hills.with marvellous views into another sleepy whitewashed village with a convenient bar or restaurant. Angel's introductory guided walk of the area was invaluable. We learnt and met the famous Iberian pigs and their acorn diet and learned about the cork oaks which are everywhere in the area. A later trip to the village curing house with Angel and subsequent tasting in the sunshine on the terrace was a highlight. In the evenings there was a nicely furnished sitting room with an honesty bar and tea/coffee making facilities. Angel and Lucy's love and appreciation of their area and their commitment to making their hotel environmentally friendly is striking. If possible try to arrive in Alajar in daylight as the cobbled village streets are very narrow with some sharp corners. Don't order too many courses in the restaurants as the servings are huge and very inexpensive compared to other areas of Spain. We were blessed with seven days of sunshine and temperatures in the mid teens in January. We'll be back.

Room tip: all good.with similar outlook. the garden level with direct access to the garden and pool might be nicer in summer.

We had a lovely three day break with Angel and Lucie in their excellent hotel - which was a very good way to spend some of the first week of the new year. It was our second trip to Alajar and just as enjoyable as the previous time. Angel and Lucie are excellent hosts, the food is high quality and the walking options are varied and interesting. In simple terms, the perfect break!

Lucy and Angel were excellent hosts and the Posada and its grounds were a delight and furnished to the highest standard in character with the building. Lucy helped us at various points with our walking holiday in Aracena. Our stay was outstanding
