“Great Hotel/Not So Great Beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2012

Great place for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Not a five star, but very nice nonetheless. We stayed here in November 2011. Our room had a private patio and a plunge pool. Patio was great, plunge pool was brutally cold. We were right beside the sidewalk to the beach, so we had very little privacy on the patio or in the pool. Would recommend asking for something a bit farther from the sidewalk. Room was very nice...bed was comfortable, shower was spacious, amenities were great. The staff was superb....service cannot be faulted. Restaurants were very good. There were 3 weddings the week we stayed and, in all cases, the hotel shut down the beachside Isla Grill, our favorite, and we were forced to eat elsewhere. Breakfast buffet was excellent and Lupita Lounge was great for a before-dinner drink....the ceviche was superb. The pool was not heated (manager said they turn on heat in December....way too late) and was extremely cold. The beach is very narrow and there is a great deal of seaweed. The staff was very diligent about removing the seaweed, but if you're on the beach you have to contend with the noise and smell of a diesel tractor for good portion of the day. There's a great walking /jogging path along the golf course, the spa was fantastic (although expensive....aren't they all?), and the exercise facility was nice, too. All in all, a very nice place. The resort is north of Cancun, and there's not much to do in the evening if you're looking for entertainment....you will need to take a cab into Cancun. We enjoyed our stay, but will probably stay near Playa del Carmen when we go back to Mexico since there are more entertainment options and the beach is far nicer.

This review is long over due as we stayed there during Christmas 2011. We stayed in a junior suite which was amazingly clean, spacious, comfortable and had an ocean view. The Junior Suites are only a 1 minute walk to the beach. I am glad we did not pay extra for the ocean side casitas as they are located right in front of the busiest pool at the resort.

This is the best all-inclusive resort we have every stayed at. We loved the fact that this was a small boutique hotel as this allowed for more individual attention from the staff.

The beach was clean and had plenty of open chairs and cabanas. The hotel is quiet at night so if you are looking some where that offers night-life you might want to try the Excellence next door.

We had a private romantic dinner on the beach one of the nights. Our waiter for the dinner was Ishmael who went above and beyond to make this a special night for us. I would definitely request him if you decide to book a private dinner.

The food was high quality and the drinks were not watered down. We did not leave the resort at all as they had everything we needed.

This hotel is quiet and did not have many activities. If you are looking for your typical drunk fest Cancun hotel this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for first class accommodations than this hotel is a great choice!

We just came back from (May 2012) 5 nights at Beloved Hotel, it's beautiful resort with excellent selection of food and drink. Best all inclusive so far, it's great for short staying. We were bored by 3rd nights, nothing to do (not safe to walk outside of the resort). Beach front of the hotel is rather small and it's not beautiful as other Cancun location, but if you take 20 minutes walk north of the resort you will find amazing beach.
Wall is rather thin and I ended up waking up middle of the night from crying baby from thunder and really hard bed doesn't help either. What's up with tinny pillow?
We tried all restaurants and "Isla Grills" was our favorite.
Although we enjoyed all the great food and drink, we won't be returning this hotel again. We ended up waiting 4 hours to check in to our room, and found broken glass by beach and inform the hotel about the broken glass to hotel but they didn't do anything about this, (very next day one guy had his feet cut open).

This resort is small, 109 rooms, and it was the perfect place for me to get married on April 14, 2012.
31 of our family and friends came, which was a great amount so we could spend time with everyone and everyone else got to hang out with new and old friends. We couldn’t walk anywhere without running into someone we knew. The staff knew who we were from the beginning, and gave us excellent service most of the time. They said 31 is a big number for this resort, so we did overwhelm the dinner staff and kitchen one night when we all went together to dinner. The idea was to split up at different restaurants but everyone wanted to be together so as a result, some people didn’t get their food at all and the rest of us had to wait a very long time. The beach service was also slow in my opinion, often just one person working the beach and pool. Room service is 24 hours which is nice, but it took did take a long time, and you didn’t always get everything you ordered. For example, my friend ordered a cheeseburger, and got a cheesecake instead.

The food is amazing at all the restaurants! Small portions so you can order appetizers, and dessert! YUM! The staff at the Lupita Lounge, which is the only “bar” was so great we drank a lot as a group, and they made my friends fun and different drinks. They close at midnight but didn’t mind if we hung around there after. The mini-bar was always fully stocked with beer and liquor, as well as soda and some snacks.

We stayed in the Ocean View Terrace Suite with Plunge Pool. The rooms are fantastic. There were three beds on the patio! Each room has a jacuzzi in the corner, ours obviously had a great ocean view.
I personally didn't like the set up of the two story rooms, seems a bit awkward to me. Also, it is all very open in the bathroom, the shower is not frosted glass. Not a problem for couples, got a bit weird for our two single guy friends sharing a room!
(Wedding tip- having the big room was great for the wedding day as I was able to invite most of the female guests to get ready together and have a champagne toast. It was nice to get to hang out with them before the wedding.) We also had a lot of people over for more intimate time with us so it was cool to have the plunge pool. There were a surprising amount of children at the resort, and they were all surprisingly well behaved. We usually go to adults only resorts and it didn't bother us at all to have kids around.
My husband and I got a couples massage and "milk creme" bath. We spent about 3 hours in the spa because prior to the massage they offer Aqua Vivo therapy. This is a series of hot and cold "experiences" for circulation. First was a very steamy steam room, then cold plunge pool, hot plunge pool, "aqua therapy" where the water hits one body part to massage it out, then ice bath, then steam room and finally 5 different types of showers. It was very interesting and fun. It also was really relaxing! The massage was fantastic as was the creme bath, we got a little face massage and chocolate covered strawberries. Very great experience.

I really just wish I could do more than write a review to tell everyone to have their destination wedding here. It literally is the best. My husband and I married here April 2010 and our friends liked it so much they had their wedding back at La Amada, April 2012. The quality of the resort is the same, and if not better. We loved, LOVED, the all-inclusive and I have to admit were weary of it b/c of we didn't know how that would work quality-wise but we think the service was even better this time around, which I didn't know could happen! The food and drinks were delicious and we give the staff five stars.

We will be back, we keep hoping some other friends/family will marry there again so we can have another excuse to come back.

If you want to review my 1st review, it is under sunsunsun_10 and was written April 2010.

My girlfriend and I headed out for our annual girlfriend getaway and didn't want to come back!! Our stay at The Beloved Hotel was truly exceptional! This hotel skimps on nothing..the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. It is a beautiful boutique style hotel that is an all inclusive. The rooms were well appointed with a large shower, comfortable beds and a sitting area, a large deck with a bed to lounge in, and a jacuzzi tub. The beach was beautiful and quiet. I liked the plantings along the way and there were enough chairs and palapas for all to enjoy. The service on the beach was also exceptional, every day there was a special drink (my favorite was the white sangria) and a special lunch item..so nice to not have to move from a beach chair to have lunch. The restaurants were good and you could either order from the menu for breakfast or have the buffet, both were good. I thought this place was great for a getaway and so relaxing. If you are looking for the pool disco and water aerobics this is not the place..you go at your own pace...There were families there with children and it was no problem. I did say to my girlfriend that I didn't think my boys (12 & 14) would love it as the water was serene and the pool fairly quiet..but that's OK!! As not every place is made for kids..the ones that were there did get involved in plenty of water activities...but just to be clear this was a pretty quiet place. A place that I enjoyed every moment at, a place that I will surely come back to on my next girlfriend weekend..so any of you Mom's looking to get away from it all..hang out on the beach with a good book and great conversation with your friends or husband..enjoy some cocktails have a great meal and just shut off from everyday life..this is the place to go!

Gorgeous hotel with outstanding service. Is clean, is neat, customer service is magnificent, staff is always willing to help and meet every little need you have. They take care of every little detail. We stayed at a beautiful "casita" very close to the beach and the main pool with our own swimming pool, which the kids enjoyed so much. Food was very good, with much more quality than most of all included resorts I have stayed at. Beverages are also first quality and you can opt for the best brands. It is a relaxing place, very good for families, with a nice kids area for the children. Do not expect those huge -all included- resorts, with hundreds of people...perhaps that's what I liked the most. The location is OK, a little bit far from Cancun. We rented a car, which I guess was a good idea, specially if you want to drive around. Paying for a taxi every time you want to leave the hotel might be expensive. Beach is nice, clean, calm and you can expect also first class service while chilling out by the sea. White clean sand, however sea colours are not as intense as they are in Cancun hotel area, but I guess water is pretty much cleaner than in Cancun area. great place, fully recommendable!

Room Tip: Beach front Casitas are great when you are travelling with family. Kids will enjoy it very much, esp...
