“If you are looking for relaxation, tranquility and service, this IS the place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2014

full disclosure we have been to the Beloved 4 times in the last 2 years and expect to return as soon as we are able. I am available to answer any questions, please keep in mind this is not the place for you if you require loud obnoxious music and non stop entrtainment and nightclubs if that is what you are looking for yoiu would be best served staying in Cancun proper at one of the many cookie cutter mega resorts.

I have reviewed the Beloved in my previous visits and while i do not have too much to add to the many postive reviews below I want to make sure to thank and give my positive comments to the many hard working men and women who make the Beloved the top notch place it is and the reason my family and I keep coming back!

Noe-the MOST fantastic waiter there is, not only does he remember your name and your order pefectly he also remembers just how you like your drink and how fast you drink it so he is always bringng you another just as you are finishing the previous!...he is so knowledegable and patient, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were absolutely satisfied; Noe, Thank you for the flambe on our last night!!

Emiliano Asisstant waiter- works with Noe at Isla Grill such a kind and hard working young man he is a fantastic waiter at Isla (Noe's asst). He is on point and on top of everything he anticipated our every need before we even knew we needed things, he is definitely ready to move up to a full on waiter he has been trained by the best and it shows!

Jesenia-Isla grill I can not say enough about Jesenia, seeing Jesenia was like coming home and getting a warm hug from a long time friend...Nothing was too much to ask, always looking for a way to help us find more enjoyment-she alwasy made sure to tell us what was happening that eveing in the various restaurants gave us her advise and what to do and not miss during our stay. She is an absolute gem and the Beloved is blessed to have her Jesenia, la familia Munoz te adora!!

Cinthia-hostess at Isla and Lupita, always had a friendly smile and a great seat for us either at Isla or Lupita attentive and sweet yet always professional. It was so nice to be warmly welcomed by Cinthia every time we came along.

David-lifeguard I would like to start by saying that Davis is so much more that a lifeguard he is a "beach Concierge" he is the greatest- one of a kind-so helpful and caring. he was always around, willing to help in any way he was able be it, bringing extra towels, securing a cabana, giving us beach tips and fun ideas of thngs to do. he always went out of his way to stop by say hello make sure we were ok, advise us to wear sunscreen and answer any questions we had !! I looked forward to his daily stops at our cabana or palapa and his frendly smile easy conversation.

Eduardo - beach waiter quick and responsive, nothing is too much for him, he was so accomodating when we moved around he found us-our food was always hot and our drinks were icy cold thanks to eduardo who kept the ice coming!

Claudia-front desk always helpful with a big smile and a friendly Hola!

Patricio-what can I say about Patricio that has not already been said, he was EVERYWHERE, on the beach, in the restaurants walking around the resort...always with a smile, a recomendation, a reminder of the days "happenings". Just a tremendously hard working guy nothing is too much, nothing is a bother, he was always around being helpful even when it is not his problem, once he went out of his way to track us down on the beach, and make calls on our behalf to help us sort out an issue with a vendor-we were blown away and so appreciative of his help.

Freddy-waiter breakfast at Aroma, we have loved Freddy from when he was a beach waiter- he is now at Aroma for breakfast and is just as phenomenal! Do I miss him at the beach? of course, but i am happy for him that he is enjoying his new role.

Conception-Aroma-a tremendous server she is a hard worker but was always ready with a most beautiful friendly smile, caring and genuine person.

FaniLu -massage therapist I was the most relaxed after this massage than I have ever been after any massage (and I am kind of a massage snob)
Elizbet-Aqua Viva therapist, loved her! she is very quiet but very effective.

Room Tip: be careful not to leave any open food on your balcony, those birds will be all over it in seconds

I am usually very picky on vacation as I travel for a living, I have not even one complaint or criticism. The Beloved is a perfect ten in our book. We rented a penthouse suite with plunge pool and we felt like rock stars! Food, service, liquor selection, entertainment, the whole experience was seamless excellence. David the beach lifeguard was a delight to talk to ( wife lost her sunglasses in the ocean, he jumped in with snorkel and mask and found them). Servers bent over backwards to help, if we wished something which was not on the menu they made it available. The food quality was fantastic and fresh. Purified water from the tap. We are going back.

Room Tip: Penthouse suite well worth the cost.

First and foremost, if you require 24/7 entertainment from your resort, this is NOT the place for you. That includes nightly "shows", games by the pool, a nightclub, a place you can leave your kids at all day, etc. If you want excellent service, gourmet food and a relaxing, low key luxurious stay away from it all, this IS the place for you.

We stayed once in January 2013 for 8 days with our kids (ages 1 and 3). We loved it so much, we went back for 4 days sans kids for our anniversary in June 2013. I cannot say more about the service and luxury. The rooms are large and well appointed, the shower is super sexy for couples (but would be weird if sharing with adult children or another couple), and the food is fantastic (especially for an AI). I also recommend the catamaran trip available to Isla Mujeres. It was a ton of fun. We also enjoyed a couples massage on our return trip… best massage EVER and the accompanying water session is fantastic. The kids club was a little boring, but we didn't really need it. We vacationed with our kids to spend time with them. Maybe when they're older it would be an okay place to drop them off while we go to the spa for a few hours.

I am just now writing this because I feel inspired after staying at another All Inclusive that fell short of our high expectations set by La Amada. We WILL be back… several times. =)

Room Tip: I wouldn't splurge on a bigger room unless you need separate sleeping spaces for your party. The...

I had an "Ocean Front Penthouse Suite with Plunge Pool" for two nights at The Beloved Hotel in Cancun. The suite was huge! At 2,873 sq. feet, the suite included a large living room with seating area and large television, a huge bedroom with a connected bathroom, featuring the biggest shower I've ever seen. There was also a bar desk, and a seperate kitchen, with a full sized fridge. And another small bathroom. In addition, you had a huge terrace facing both the ocean and the nearby marina, with your own private pool and several places to sit or lie down.

The room itself was lovely, albeit perhaps not the most cosy. The suite certainly came with all the amenities you could think of, including a fridge with several beverages, snacks, full-sized bottles of alcohol, and kitchen facilities if you wanted to cook yourself (probably not going to happen at an all-inclusive resort where the closest supermarket is miles away). The bed was large and comfortable, and the bedroom also had its own television, although it was placed in quite a distance from the bed. The bathroom was lovely as well, and had several toiletries.

The heated, private pool was great, and the huge terrace was quite impressive. The view of the marina was great, although the ocean view was a bit far away, as my room was placed in the building furthest from the beach. Your view was mostly of the hotel property, with the ocean in the distance.

There are only three a la carte restaurants which is a bit on the small side, compared with the Excellence Playa Mujeres next door which has around ten. The food was good, though, and the restaurants had some nice dinner selections. Dinner service at Lupita was quite slow on the evening I dined there, however. Isla Grill had quite a good location, right on the beach.

Of course, there was also the option of 24-hour room service, which is a great feature, and the aforementioned mini bar which was not so mini!

At times, the hotel property seemed a bit like a ghost town. Very deserted and with little activity. It was mostly around the main pool area and beach that people seemed to hang out. I don't think the hotel had a lot of bookings at the time I stayed there.

Service from staff was good, albeit a bit 'robotic' and automatic. They would often ask if there was anything they could do for me, but it seemed most like a standard phrase that was thrown around by default. Staff members were nice and service-minded though.

I did not try the spa, the golf course or the other facilities on site, but it seemed nice enough.

Ultimately, The Beloved is a great hotel, and it's hard to point at anything specific that is lacking. It just did not feel very 'personal' and luxurious somehow. If you're staying in this part of Cancun, I would recommend staying at Excellence Playa Mujeres instead.

For eight days, we were in paradise. In every way, we were truly guests of this fine resort. The Beloved is ably named as you are beloved from check-in until check-out. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles, drinks and warm greetings. Luis welcomed us in the relaxed lobby and was aware of our anniversary and had special amenities ready for our stay. We upgraded to a beautiful two-story beach-front casita with plunge pool. Champagne and fruit were waiting when we settled into our suite. The suite was specious, perfectly clean and a fully stocked bar plus a full-sized ocean-view jacuzzi. The roof-top plunge pool was amazing. Hermosa 4 is a premier location in every way, private, overlooking the beach, the lush grounds - we even had our own palm tree. The porch furniture included a dining table and a full sized lounging bed. And another lounging bed on the roof adjacent to the huge plunge pool. And the views - just check the photos. The food was more delicious with every meal - breakfast was endless with selections and daily variations. The beach-side nine-course tasting breakfast at El Mar was a work of art and a cultural experience. Lunches of fresh fish, salads and fruits were perfect everyday with so many choices we never got the same thing twice. We had dinner at Aroma, Isla Grill and El Mar and each location provided unique offerings and beautiful views and surroundings. We ate al fresco every night as the moon appeared. Wonderful beef, fish, lobster and local offerings were all exceptional and delicious. We learned about so many new foods and tried dishes we had never seen anywhere before. One night, for our anniversary, Chef Juan Garcia of Aroma made us an amazing Italian tasting dinner that was spectacular from start to finish. From perfect omelets in the morning to exceptional gourmet dishes at sunset, the food was magnificent. Special thanks to our wonderful servers Freddie and Christian for their fine service and recommendations. We went to Excellence one evening for dinner and with arrangements made by super-concierge Sebastian - our dinner was spectacular at the French restaurant. Though an impressive resort, Excellence, which is a short walk on the beach from The Beloved, seemed huge, crowded and noisy. We were quite happy to return “home” to The Beloved for some quiet and personal attention. The spa is amazing, both in architecture and atmosphere. Everyone was so helpful, especially Jorge who rode bikes with us a few mornings and gave an amazing cross-fit class. The Cactus Fruit sampling at the Spa was a very nice evening event. The beach drink service was awesome, never needing anything because of the careful attention of Luis and Alex. They served hors d’oeuvres on the beach at noon a few days a week with some of the best finger food you’ll ever find. If you want to visit Isla Mujeres, we found the most direct and affordable way to make the trip - see Victor at the beach stand for AquaSports and for $70 roundtrip he’ll speed you over the island at 10 am right from the Beloved beach front and then direct you to the best Golf Cart vendor and arrange for a return pick-up at the time that best suits you. Be sure to spend a few hours on North Beach while there for some of the most beautiful beach and clear water anywhere. You can do the island, on the golf cart ($45) in less than an hour, visit the quaint, colorful town and enjoy the beach for a few hours and be back to The Beloved for a late lunch. That’s really plenty of time there. Lastly and most importantly, the crown prince of The Beloved is Patricio, who patrols the beach and property, knows your name and attends to absolutely anything you need, even things you don’t know you need. He is a wonderful guy, follows through in every way and somehow, when you turn the corner or look up from your book on the beach, there he is - that handsome head shining in the sun with a huge smile and suggestion for something special he has arranged for that day. Amazing - he is the Ironman of The Beloved. Thank you so much for everything you did to make our trip perfect, Patricio. Be sure to request transportation to and from the airport through the resort because Seasons Tour Service is first class in their arrangements and vehicles for the trip. Our driver was very polite and provided a nice riding tour of Cancun in route, no wonder he is also the driver for the owners when they visit their property. I could go on, but it is enough to say that our stay at the Beloved was perfect in every way. We were quite fortunate to have eight days of perfect sunshine and warm breezes - as the week before was rainy and cold. The Beloved is intimate, attentive, friendly, family friendly. They understand if you want to be active, they’ll recommend activities but if you’re there to relax, they'll cater to your every need so you can truly rest and enjoy. To everyone - well done - we’ll be back, hopefully quite soon.

Room Tip: If it's available, upgrade to a beautiful two-story beach-front casita with plunge pool like we...

We booked this hotel for a quick weekend get-away from NYC's frigid winter weather. TripAdvisor ranked it the #3 all-inclusive resort in the world, which is ultimately why we chose this. With that in mind, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, we were somewhat underwhelmed. I had regrets not staying where we stayed last year, the LIVE AQUA.

PROS:
• Service was excellent. Everyone we encountered was extremely accommodating and pleasant. This hotel's logistics were also very well thought-out.
• Everywhere in the hotel is very well maintained and cleaned.
• Rooms were well-appointed: liquor, mixers, beer, wine and snacks available in the bar, luxurious robes and towels, BVLGARI amenities, hair dryer, large walk-in closet, coffee machine and french press, plenty of outlets, large flat-screen TV.
• Live music throughout our stay: piano at breakfast and a band/DJ each evening.
• Atmosphere is peaceful, quiet and relaxing for the most part.

CONS:
• Food was spotty. Some dishes were excellent as well as interesting with local influences. Others were unappetizing to the point where I ordered something else after being served. In general, the breakfast and dinner options were great. Lunch often left something to be desired.
• Airport was about 30-40 minutes away. If you're interested in the bar/restaurant scene of Cancun, this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this is a great choice.
• Walls of the rooms were a bit thin. We could hear pronounced sounds of the shower and the band from the lounge.

GOOD TO KNOW:
• This is NOT an adults-only property. Please keep that in mind for your preferences.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 112, which had an AWESOME balcony where we had drinks each night, breakfast each m...

Overall, we had an enjoyable holiday at The Beloved Hotel but there were a few things that didn't shout '5* hotel' at us. We previously visited Cancun and stayed at the Le Blanc Spa which we would have gone back to that hotel again but it was adult only and we now have a 5 month old baby so this wasn't an option. If we were asked to recommend a hotel in Cancun, we wouldn't recommend The Beloved unfortunately.

The main things that we found disappointing was the food. The restaurants were limited and pretty much only offered Mexican food or pizza and the room service menu was so limited. When we ordered food for room service it almost always turned up luke warm or cold and it was very inconsistent. For example, for breakfast sometimes you would get toast other times not, sometimes you would get maple syrup other times not.

There were a few stand out members of staff that improved our overall experience. We had one of the beach front casita rooms which was lovely and one of the pool waiters used to come and take our drink order from our terrace. That was great but when he was on a day off, no one would come round. There needs to be some consistency here.

Finally, the hotel needs to invest in some new baby cots as the one we had for our baby for the first couple of nights had definitely seen better days. We had to ask for a new one, which the hotel did provide but we should not have been given one in such a poor condition in the first place.

Overall I dont feel this was worth the money or that it was 5 Star.

Room Tip: Beach Front Casita;s are the best

Thank you for taking the time to share this review with us. We are disappointed to hear that your experience with us did not live up to your expectations, although many travelers find The Beloved Hotel to be a peaceful place, with excellent food options and outstanding service.

We are disappointed to read that we fell short on your culinary expectations. As a luxurious all inclusive hotel we personalize not only our service, but also our food and beverage offer. In an effort to reach this premise, we offer 4 restaurants, 3 bars, 1 sushi bar, a smoothies & crepes bar and 24 hr of room service.

We will forward all your comments and suggestions to the above mentioned departments as your feedback is very important to us since it helps us improve on a daily basis. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and to provide you the memorable and relaxing experience you deserve.
