This place was an amazing place to vacation. Everything about it was fantastic. The staff was incredibly patient and very helpful if you do not speak Spanish well but are trying to learn. They all go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your trip.If you decide to visit this hotel, make sure to find Teresita. She is a wonderful person that really goes above and beyond her job title. I would definitely go back and vacation there again. It is a little bit of a haul from the airport, but once you get there it is well worth it.

We stayed at the Beloved for 10 nights in early May. My husband and I were looking for relaxing elegance. TBH did deliver plus some. We have stayed at multiple resorts throughout the years. As far as all Inclusives go - TBH has taken the top spot as a new favorite.

We flew thru customs & immigration. Lomas Luxury was waiting outside with our name on a sign. We were on our way within minutes. Enjoyed the familiar ride in a Navigator. (We've stayed at EPM a few times so we knew the route). Arrived at the resort @ 11 am. Pleasantly surprised that a room was ready for us. Your picture is taken at check in for identity purposes (staff greet you by name almost immediately). A $500 hold is put on your credit card for incidentals and will be promptly removed at check out should you choose not to charge anything to your room. The one thing we noticed immediately upon arrival was the atmosphere of serenity - everything from the decor, smells, landscaping exuded calmness and class.
A bellman took us to our casita pointing out places along the short walk. The casitas are very similar to the Roof top plunge pool rooms at EPM with just a few exceptions. The beds are huge but not set up on a high platform which makes it easier for shorter people to get into! The bed had a headboard which served as a divider to the bathroom so you didn't feel like the sink so near your head while laying in bed! The shower was at the rear of the suite without the glass opening to the main room which should make it more private for those who want that. There are two types of coffee makers - French press and Necpresso. Loved the little pods which were convenient when you just wanted a cup. Frig had the standard Coke, Diet, Fanta, Sprite, Milk, water, Coronitas, Bud, Bud Lite, and white wine plus M & Ms, Snickers bars & Oreos. Chips and nuts in drawer. 4 full bottles of liquor (tequila, gin, rum & vodka) and red wine. Nice comfortable couch, desk and flat screen on swivel so you could also see from bed. Balcony had daybed, table & chairs. Rooftop area had daybed and plunge pool with private shower area. We used the plunge pool daily. The water was comfortable temp even at night. It was also great for star gazing. All in all, we liked the casita better than any room we ever had at EPM. View was a top priority and the casitas are truly ocean front with great views from both the balcony & the rooftop.

Another plus was the gym which we used daily. Large area with high quality machines. Much larger than other resorts we have been to. Healthy snacks, bottled and lemon/cucumber water, dry and scented wet towels were provided. Classes were held in a room next to the gym but we didn't try any.

Food - Food is where the Beloved far excels over EPM. We could have honestly stayed 3 weeks and never tried everything we would have liked to. There are only 4 restaurants to choose from but there was not one meal where we had a less than wonderful meal. The tasting breakfast was an experience not to be missed. Breakfast buffet was good although we ordered from the menu most days. We also had breakfast via room service a few times which arrived hot and was a treat to eat out on the patio. Lunch can be eaten in a restaurant but we didn't. Food can be ordered from you beach chair or they had a different cuisine featured at the beach grill everyday. Dinners are all FANTASTIC at whatever restaurant we dined at but we became partial to Aroma. Can't forget to mention the smoothie bar which also had crepes and waffles...very,very good! Absolutely no wait at any restaurant any time!

Entertainment - There was live music daily at the swim up bar pool which we enjoyed from the beach. The Lupita Lounge had nightly live music which we enjoyed but they could get more comfortable seating. There were multiple weddings while we were there. Larger weddings had receptions at the Isla Grill with either live or music by a DJ. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our patio listening to those but it could be a problem for families with small children as the music went until 11 pm. The resort was basically quiet at night and not a party atmosphere. There is a small kids play area which looked cute. This is a family resort but we didn't find the number of kids to be excessive. Most children were very young & well behaved. I don't see this as being a resort for families with older kids as they might get bored.

The beach had a bit of sea grass our 1st day but nothing excessive & to be expected after a storm. The rest of the trip it was absolutely beautiful. Crystal clear water, soft sand....loved seeing the fish swim by. We never had a problem getting a palapa for shade at any time of day. Because this is a smaller boutique resort nothing, including the beach & pool areas, ever seemed crowded. Pools were warm and pretty. Didn't like that there were only Bali beds under large palapas around the pools. Would have liked option of a lounger.

What sets the Beloved apart from many resorts is the EXCELLENT service....everywhere we went someone was asking if they could do something for us. Just too many names to mention but Aby in Aroma stood out due to her smile and knowing what we wanted before we did!!! She is a gem & well worth requesting. Also Manuelo & Alec at the beach who were just delightful. The Beloved does not have a Club area or room designation. Bravo!!!!!! This absolutely impressed us! EVERYONE checks in at the same place, gets the same wonderful service and amenities. If you want a larger room with a view you book it and get it rather than hoping for it! Everything is top quality, calming, wow inspiring, and included in the price you pay.

All in all, we both highly recommend The Beloved and will be back...in October as a matter of fact. If you have any questions, feel free to PM.

Room Tip: Casitas provide the best view along with a private plunge pool.

Exactly what we needed! A week away from hectic work schedules to relax and enjoy ourselves. This resort pays attention to every detail from top to bottom. We never went more than a few minutes without someone checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The service was exceptional and the food was far better than anything we've experienced at other all inclusives. Namely, we loved Isla Grill and Lupita restaurants. Also, there is no skimping on watered down drinks here- even the mini bar in our room was stocked with high end alcohol! The spa was extremely relaxing and we loved taking the catamaran to isla mujeres one day- all we had to do was literally walk across the street to the marina! No precious time wasted traveling to that excursion.
We will absolutely be back, namely because of the top notch service. We've never been able to kick back like this and it was all due to the staff. Specifically, Alex at the pool, Noe and Victor at Lupita, Jose at Isla Grill, Hernan at the front door, and Carlos at Lupita Lounge. These individuals made this experience one we will never forget!

My husband and I spent four nights at TBH before transferring to the Excellence Playa Mujeres. This trip was our sixth to Excellence resorts. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool in building two. We had requested a quiet room and this one certainly fitted the bill. Initially, before arriving we were concerned that we might be troubled by children as we normally go to AO resorts but all the children we saw were exceptionally well behaved. For those of you who might be interested all the restaurants have children's menus and they have a children's club for those aged four to twelve with their own club, park and mini water park. I would say that really this resort is only suitable for children up to about 7 as there are really no clubs and facilities for older children. The food in all the restaurants is of a good quality, although you need to be very specific as to how you would like your meat cooked, otherwise it might end up too rare. We particularly liked Lupita which is the Mexican "fine dining". The Lupita lounge is a great location for an alfresco cocktail, although we found the service here to be rather slow. We did ask the sushi chef to suggest some special items but he just directed us to the regular menu. We chose for ourselves and we were pleasantly surprised . The Aroma was very good for breakfast but a little disappointing in the evening .Both for the quality of food and for the service which was very slow. We enjoyed lunch at the Isla grill and had the tasting menu for breakfast at El Mar on our last day. Although it was a good concept, we felt that the courses were heavily bread and sweet pastry based and even the fresh juices were high in sugar, so not a very healthy option. Also, it took over an hour so it wouldn't be suitable for anyone in a rush, or those with children as the menu wasn't suitable for them. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay for us for the four nights but we would have got a little bored with the restaurant options if we had stayed for longer.Although all of the staff we met were very helpful, we would like to mention Susana at Aroma, Patricio, for the extra services he provided and Hayden in the lobby bar as a great mixologist.

We returned a few days ago from a brief trip to TBH. We stayed 3 days prior to a scheduled move to the Excellence next door. We enjoyed our stay but will likely not return. The hotel is beautiful & the staff is wonderful. We tend to stay at adults only resorts & this visit reinforced our decision. The young children were barely noticeable during the daytime. Dinnertime was another story. Meals at TBH tend to be a rather prolonged affair & most 2 to 10 year olds do not tolerate a 90 minute dining experience.
We also felt the night time activities were very limited as would be expected at a family resort. We may be old-timers but we are not over-the hill yet. We "closed down" the lobby bar (at 11 PM) 2 of our 3 nights. On a positive note, we found Hayden (sp?) the bartender to be both attentive & great entertainment by himself.
We recommend TBH for families looking for a upscale resort or couples wanting a boutique-type AI experience.

I found a great deal on the hotel through Expedia. With direct airfare, the price was lower than other all-inclusives we have stayed at in the Caribbean. We had the Ocean View Suite and the room was an excellent size for my husband and I. It had everything we needed - the minibar was well stocked with drinks and snacks. There was a walk in closet, and the balcony with the bed was a great place to read a book. The food was very good, although I agree with the other reviews, at times the meals seemed to be a bit long, but for us, it was not an issue. The staff was wonderful - very nice, very helpful, and very happy. We have only positive things to say about everyone from the bellman to the concierge. This is not the party spot, it was a great place to relax and unwind.

We never had an issue getting a place at the beach or the pool, and I did not notice people leaving towels all day and not showing up, as some of the other reviewers noticed. There was no need to make dinner reservations. We ate at all the restaurants, and for us we liked El Mar best for breakfast - the tasting menu is excellent and changes everyday. We liked Isla Grill best for lunch and Aroma for dinner. One note, the website says you cannot wear beach coverups, or casual gear for breakfast and lunch - we did not find that to be the case. It was very casual for breakfast and lunch - coverups were acceptable. Dinner it was a little more beach chic but not dressy by any means.

The turn down service at night was excellent. The grounds were beautiful and there was always work being done. The reasons I would not give this a 5 were some of the timing issues with meals (it was not really consistent with how long things took), the floors and the rugs in the room were not super clean, and the food quality - although overall it was really good, it was not always consistent. Better than most all inclusives, but sometimes the same dish was better than the day before or visa versa. And while I was in the spa, using the pool (as part of my spa treatment), there were men in there working on hanging drapes - this did not lend to being the most relaxing experience. I wish I could give it a 4.5.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to rest and relax for a week.
