Beloved Playa Mujeres

Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 16 August 2014

We spent 10 nights with our teenagers at the end of July. The wife & I had a bottom floor casita with pool and the kids were in the upstairs unit with a plunge pool on the roof top terrace. Consentida is a great building if you can request it and Hermosa is another great choice.

The grounds are nicely done and we just couldn't believe the place was full. Anytime we would walk to the restaurants near the lobby we would hardly run into any guests. We know it was full because our daughter found out one of her friends was attending a wedding at Beloved but was staying next door at Excellence because they couldn't get into Beloved.

The room was great and we got whatever we asked for in the mini bar. The restaurants were mostly very good. We did learn that it's best to order fish. They definitely did a better job with the fish than the meats. Breakfast at Aroma was a great buffet. The pool bar is a great place to hang out in the afternoon. You'll probably run into some great Brits on a family vacation. They say it's a great deal vs Spain, France etc.

We did the Season's private Chichen Itza tour. Our driver (Sergio) was great and we got to have our choice of how much time to spend. He took us to a great little place for lunch that had no tourist buses. The tour leaves early in the morning, but you'll be glad when you get there. By the time you're leaving Chichen Itza, all the tour buses are just showing up.

We also did a private sail boat from the marina across the street. It was a great 4 hours where we got to pick what we did (lots of snorkeling in 2 different places) and where we went. The tours weren't cheap, but worth the money.

The only downside is that the wife is now trying to talk me into buying one of the condos next door. I keep telling her that we are hotel people where they bring you drinks on the beach and have multiple restaurants to choose from.

Room Tip: Consentida and Hermosa casitas are great choices.

We visited the Beloved Hotel, as a large group of 12, around mid July. We had a very enjoyable. We had usual hiccups of large group traveling, but none the less all problems were solved to the best of the facility's capabilities. We enjoyed the amazing spa, and the tour company's arrangements for a private catamaran trip and trip to Ichen Itza. The only con was the food, which was typical all inclusive food, was expecting a little better for such as nice hotel. The staff was so accommodating, they even helped us with an improptu photo session on the beach.

My husband and I stayed from 7/31/14-8/6/14.
The weather was amazing. No rain. Approx 86 degrees F. The humidity was 90%. Water temp was perfect.
The resort was GORGEOUS, immaculate, beach front, close to Cancun, yet far enough from the touristy life of it.
The staff is AWESOME. Every single one of them!!!!
The restaurants are delicious. Offering a variety of dishes. They accommodate every taste bud out there. Every age.
The ambiance is perfect if you are not trying to do the party scene. We were not.
There is really no need to book any of your tours ahead of time, the hotel works with an amazing tour company who are on grounds, to book everything your heart desires. They are Season Tours. They treated us FANTASTIC, and made us feel comfortable and safe while we were out on our excursions.
Thank you a million times fold Beloved Hotel. We can NOT wait to go back with our ENTIRE family!!!

We spent a week at the Beloved and we did not want to leave.
The rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff is AWESOME.
We loved Omar at the pool bar and Eduardo at the beach.

We have 2 girls, ages 8 and 11 and they made friends and were entertained all day!

The pools do get warm, but they are never crowded, and the beach is lovely.
We took advantage of they hobbie-cat, kayaks, and paddling.

The Mexican Fiesta dinner night was the best!

This is a beautiful property, impeccably maintained. You will see stay cleaning and painting at all times. The rooms are large, and extremely well appointed. The front desk staff is fabulous and will do anything for you with a smile. Housekeeping is very good, and room service is superb - no small statement with 6 teenages age 14-18. The bar staff is excellent as well and every kind of Mexican or carribean drink flows non stop for the adults. The food is average to good depending on what you order. Ordering can take some time but what the heck this is Mexico. When we checked in our rooms were not as ordered but by the next morning they had it all sorted out and moved us with no problems at all. There are daily programs and exercise. With only 100 rooms this is never crowded and dinner is available when you want at any of 4 restaurants.

Room Tip: we had a room on the first floor which opened directly to a pool and loved it

I came here with my boyfriend April 2014. This was our first all-inclusive resort and I think this one will be hard to top. I purposely chose the Beloved Hotel because I wanted to stay an all-inclusive with good food and top notch service. The Beloved Hotel lived up to all the hype.

When we first arrived we were greeted with a cold towel and champagne. The staff treated us like we were their only customers. Everything at check in went by smoothly even when we booked our tour to Chichen Itza. When we went to the room we were blown away. It was huge! We booked the swim up suite and we were very happy with our location. I felt like we had a lot of privarcy. We were even excited to see all the alcohol that was included!

The food was great! We tried every restaurant and we ordered room service almost everyday for for breakfast and late night. We were especially impressed with the food at Isla Grill and Lupita Lounge. We drank at the lobby bar 3 nights with the bartender Hayden. He makes excellent (and very strong) Margaritas!

The spa was another treat! We got a couples massage and we both agree that was the best massage we ever had anywhere! The massage included the Hydrotherapy treatment, which was interesting and a bit strange at the same time.

The only "negative" comments I have are: there are only 3 small pools but this IS a smaller boutique resort so the pools were not crowded all the time. The main pool (with the swim up bar) had the most people so we mainly stayed at the pool closest to our room. Also, they could use more live entertainment (maybe a salsa night). We did not go to the beach because we heard the waters could be rough, but most people just sun bathed anyway.

Keep in mind this is not a "party" hotel and the Beloved Hotel is pretty far from downtown Cancun. This hotel is ideal from couples and families because it's tucked away in a secluded area.

This company is great and I would defintely come here again.

We have been to 6 different all-inclusives in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum and none can compare to The Beloved! I must tell you that this hotel is far superior even to the Ritz Carlton in Cancun and I never thought I'd say that about any hotel. I had a lot of questions about The Beloved before going and hope to answer some of those for potential travelers as well.

Which Room?
If your budget allows for it, book the 2-story beach-front casita. Our room was so amazing that I was ready to move right in! The first floor included a giant king-size bed and plenty of pillows (in fact, there is a "pillow menu" so you can select exactly what you want), a large walk in closet, a shower beyond my wildest dreams, and a giant jacuzzi tub that fills like fountain with water coming in from all directions. The top floor included an outdoor bed and plunge pool with waterfall. The beauty and peacefulness of this room can not be overstated!

Dining and Dress Code:
The only buffet you will encounter is at Aroma and it is only offered for breakfast. (We have survived many a buffet in Mexico...some better than others.) All other meals are sit-down. Unlike many AIs, all restaurants at TB have a dress code. You will not be able to wander into a restaurant in your dripping swim suit, though you may eat on the beach in your suit and the restaurant on the beach allows you to eat there with a cover-up. The dress code is called "casual elegance": Dresses, skirts, and capris are fine for women. Flip flops are not encouraged, but dressy sandals are. For men: bermuda shorts or long pants and a button down shirt with sleeves must be worn. Sleeveless shirts are frowned upon for men (in general...who wants to see a man in a bro-tank at dinner?). You do not need reservations for dinner as you do at many other AIs, you can come and go as you please and as many times as you please. Room service is offered 24 hours a day. If you do not want to see someone when you order, they place your meal in the 'x-box' by the door and you retrieve it from inside. When you finish, you place the dishes back inside and it is removed within the hour. I think this concept is genius! If you eat at The Lupita restaurant, please request Victor. I don't think we have ever had better service or conversation with a waiter before. He is fantastic and loves to describe the food to you.

The beach is beautiful! People are pretty smart about getting the better beach chairs and outdoor beds by going early and putting their towels down. We were able to reserve a cabana for only 45 dollars a day. The cabana came with an ice bucket and frequent water refills, a waiter for the day, a beautiful fruit bowl arrangement, and mineral mist for your face!

This hotel leaves you wanting for NOTHING! Even at the restaurants, you will be asked if you want something that is not on the menu and they will offer to prepare whatever you wish! Everyone that works at the Beloved seems to be very proud to be a part of this hotel. The pride in the grounds and the beauty of the rooms is breathtaking.

You will NOT be disappointed! One word of warning, if you are used to the "party vibe" and looking for the underlying sound of bass at 2am, this is not your resort! It is beyond peaceful at The Beloved. This is not a criticism, but more of an FYI, as we were a bit surprised by this after having been to hotels that seemed to have more of a party atmosphere. This hotel is spa like in every way! You will be greeted with champagne and cool towels and the rest of your stay will just get better and better! Enjoy!

Room Tip: If your budget allows, by al means choose the 2 story casita with private plunge pool.
