“Our first return for 2011”
Reviewed 8 May 2011

Taking advantage of the series of bank holidays in the UK we decided to treat ourselves to a four night stay at La Cour de Remi.

This was our third trip to the hotel and it lived up to all our memories. Yet again we chose to stay in room 7. As ever Sebastien's food was fabulous on both of the evenings we chose to eat in the restaurant.

Whilst Bermicourt is not exactly close to anywhere it has plenty of places which are easily in range for a day trip. Having done Lille and Vimy Ridge on previous trips this time we tried some new trips. We had an excellent if very poignant day at the Somme battlefields, a day in Amiens and a fascinating trip to the Carriere Wellington underground tunnels in Arras.

I always think you can learn as much about a hotel by how mistakes are handled. Well on this occasion there was a mix up with our booking which a hugely apologetic Sebastien resolved perfectly.

This meant that we had to spend our final night in the Treehouse - hardly a trial! A very interesting experience in the midst of a major thunderstorm... This room is clearly much smaller than room 7 but is stylishly done and would be excellent in better weather and the opportunity to make use of the outside space.

Already looking forward to a return visit on the way back from Italy later this year.

We have eaten in many fine dining rooms. La Cour de Remi easily equals those in central London - it is very good indeed. The food is sourced locally and professionally prepared to a very high standard. The menu choices are plentiful enough for most tastes and the two nights we dined in the restaurant were both superb. It's family run and owned and we were well looked after and left for home feeling we had received good value for money. We stayed for one night on the Tree House and for one night in a traditional room - both were comfortable and very restful indeed.

Room Tip: Ask the owners to recommend a dining choice.

We we're only here in November, but we loved it so much we had to come back again! We were concerned that our amazing memories of the food wouldn’t live up to expectations. But it exceeded them.

This time we stayed in Room 9, which was great. The bathroom was perfect, massive granite bath and huge shower. There was a private terrace which would have been perfect if there was a glimpse of sunshine!

We cannot recommend this place enough, and the food is the best we’ve ever tasted.

My Girlfriend and I stayed here for one night and had a great time. The food in the Restaurant was better than that of a Michelin Star restaurant we went to the next day!

Stayed in Suite 1, had the great feature of an old well on the bottom floor. On the top floor there was a massive bath to relax in, in the bedroom. Very comfy bed.

Criticisms:
(only very minor)Could have put complementary Bath Gel and candles as a gesture

In a small hamlet, you drive through the imposing entrance to the chateau and turn off half way up the drive to the adjacent former stable block and courtyard. We didnt stay there but went for dinner one evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was excellent quality, carefully cooked and well presented. Comfortable modern decor with stone walls and some floor to ceiling windows and sympathetic efficent service. Its worth making a big detour to go there and we shall defintely go back.

We used this as base to visit the Somme battlefields. It was convenient and lovely. Big room, comfortable bed, brilliant breakfast (freshly baked brioche, locally-made natural yoghurt, cheese, more bread, fantastic coffee, freshly squeezed juice), delicious evening meal (home-made terrine and bread as a complimentary starter, lamb shank that fell off the bone, best panacotta I've had in a while). Lots of attention to detail on the food. The owners have turned an amazing family home into a business and deserve credit for all they have done. Would love to go back.

You won't stumble upon la Cour de Remi. It is nestled in the French agricultural countryside, inside the grounds of a Chateau which served as the HQ of the Royal tank Corps in the Great war. Our welcome was fantastic and the staff were accomodating of any request. The rooms are large and spacious and individually decorated. We stayed in room 3 which was a threshing room in a previous life. It had large windows on both sides and was huge. The bath was equally large and the attention to detail went down to an individual nespresso machine in the room which served sublime coffee. The king-sized beg gave a fantastic sleep.
The restaurant served a great value meal at 29 euros and the pate and bread served before the meal were excellent. The chef serves local, seasonal food and it is cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend la cour de remi too highly. Go there! You will not be disappointed.
