“Wonderful weekend break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2008

Just returned home from a fabulous stay at The Cour De Remi.

Like an earlier reviewer we also stayed in Room 7, a 95sqm suite with bed, sofas and twin baths. Completed in a contemporary style it is very comfortable and my only suggestion would be that it could do with a few more power sockets and perhaps a table lamp or two just to allow a little more variety in lighting levels.

I was a little concerned when I noticed it was over the restaurant but clearly they have the soundproofing sorted as we heard very little from downstairs.

Talking of the restaurant, we ate here twice and it was noticeable that most of the other patrons were French and many were not residents, always a good sign.

Food was excellent on each occasion as was the wine and the service. Breakfast was a fresh brioche loaf, butter from the next door farm, home made jams, fresh orange juice and fabulous coffee.

Throughout our stay the staff and owners were wonderfully helpful and friendly.

A fantastic weekend and one we look forward to repeating again in the future.

My husband and I decided that we would have a few days away not too far away from home, while our youngest daughter went on a school trip to Italy.
We went to Belgium first then Lille and wanted a stop over before heading home, we found La Cour de Remi on a ferry website, as always we looked on trip advisor and found the reviews to be great so we tried to book. I emailed the hotel direct and they couldn’t fit us in the Saturday but we changed our plans and booked the Tuesday in room 7.
Wow and fantastic is the only way to describe this hotel from the quietness of its surroundings to the hotel room, the staff we’re very pleasant.
Dinner we had was one of the best I’ve tasted and reasonably priced with a lovely bottle of Morgon red wine ummmmmm eating and drinking my favourite pastimes! Room 7 is the largest room I’ve ever stayed in and we enjoyed a relaxing bath there are two baths so no fighting who gets the tap end, word of warning it takes ages to fill the baths up so its not a quick bath but very enjoyable. The bed was comfortable and the room had tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar. My husband went to reception to get me a hair drier as there was not one in the room and quickly came back with one, no problem.
Breakfast was different we had coffee, tea, orange, lovely jams with bread, brioche, cheese and yoghurt!
A very delightful overnight stay I would recommend La Cour de Remi to friends and family and would certainly stay again.

As our son lives in Paris, a pre Christmas trip to pick him up at Calais combines with a wine and food shop and end of term treat before starting the festivities. we found Cour de Remi on the internet and loved the look of it and we weren't disappointed. The room we had on the first floor was spacious and very comfortable with a huge bed and sofa. My request for a hairdryer was met with very promptly and courteously.

Although the dining room isn't very aesthetically wonderful, the food more than made up for it. The table was as usual a little splashed by the end of the meal as we each had to try everything the other was eating. As someone who only eats puddings very rarely I was tempted to a lemon dessert to die for. It combined all my favourite tastes, a strong lemon kick with a creamy lightness and what's more it came with a promise of the recipe.

Breakfast is not the best we've had but it was enough and as usual the coffee more than made up for it along with the fresh orange juice.

We hope that all went well with the birth and that the family are doing well. They deserve to make a success of it. We will certainly be going back, this Christmas, if not before.
