We entered the water challenge for fun and weren't let down. As always the staff were very helpful, friendly and encouraging. They remembered my son who last went to the centre two years ago, when he had a crisis of confidence they went out of their way to help him achieve his objective. Exceptionally good fun and will enter the challenge again next year!

Arrived 20 minutes early for our activities and got scoffed at by the rude receptionist and told to wait in our car. She gave us no help, no info, just a sour face. Asked if we could hire wetsuits, to which she replied "well we do have some". So we asked again if we could hire them, and she said "no"... as blunt as that, no explanation.
When our activity started, we were shown where to get equipment and given a brief unethusiastic briefing on how to kayak, canoe and paddleboard... if you have not done any of these before, this is not the place to learn! Only go if you have some experience... luckily we did.
We were told that there would be somebody out on a speedboat for the entire time we were on the lake, but there was not... so again, only go if you have experience and are confident on the water.
For our first activity, we decided to canoe. We spotted a family that had capsized, looked around to see if anybody from the centre had seen them and were going to come and help, but nobody was to be seen... so we paddled over and helped them back to shore. Still nobody appeared from the centre.
Following that we went kayaking. This time we spotted a couple in difficulty... he had capsized and could not get back in to this kayak, she was trying to tow him in but was not strong enough. Once again, nobody from the centre about to help. One of our group paddled in and told the receptionist that somebody was in difficulty and she couldn't have been less interested. Another of our group towed the guy in. I towed the kayak in. Still, nobody from the actual centre there to offer any help or support!
At the end, we were asked if we had enjoyed our afternoon!?! We relayed the details of us having to rescue several people, and asked why nobody at all was keeping an eye on the lake (let alone out on a speedboat which we were told at the start). Their excuse... they had been putting some bits in the tipis and forgot about the lake! Oh well that's okay then, not to worry about all of those people out doing watersports!!
Wouldn't recommend this place until they at least have a modicum of care for their customers.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear of what sounds like a poor experience of us. This is definitely not what we are aiming for.

Would you be so kind as to drop me an email with the date and time of your visit and what you were booked in for in order that I can address your concerns and make the improvements necessary?

No matter what pressures there are on our time, I always expect customers to feel welcomed, safe and enjoy their experience with us. Please be assured that I will look into the points you raise and address them.

Kind regards

Matt (email: Matt.pritchard@prospects.co.uk)

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our girls loved their experiences on the lake both accompanied by their parents in sailing dinghies then when we returned the following day they went onto the water independently in their own kayaks which they were very excited about!

My teenage children thoroughly enjoyed their watersports experience. the tuition was concise and thorough, the equipment in excellent condition and safety was paramount. To see my teenagers learn new skills and having fun was such an enjoyable experience. They had never paddle boarded before and were quite apprehensive but after their introduction were allowed to take it at their own pace and gain confidence and took to it like a duck to water.

Discovered the fantastic Cotswold Water Park, and the South Cerney Outdoor team. There is plenty of scope for choice, using a pay and play system for those who have appropriate level of experience of windsurfers or sailing boats. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and helped get a board and sail ready swiftly. The lake is lovely - warm, clear waters and plenty of room to sail across to the different areas. I only wish it was closer to home so I could visit it regularly.
