We felt right at home the minute we walked in for the first day of our walking tour in north Cotswold. There were plenty reading material to get ourselves oriented to the area. The wifi connections worked (Important for my husband).
We appreciated the fact that it did not have an associated pub/restaurant so we did not have to worry about noise when we need to retire early. The restaurant in the village is only a very short walk away. So it was not an inconvenience.
Breakfasts were ample and well prepared by Veronica and William. They were very helpful and resourceful hosts. We also met a couple on holiday from Wales over breakfast one morning. We enjoyed good conversation with the other guests and our hosts and breakfast felt like a truly warm family gathering.
The B&B is across the street from a horse walking trough. It turned out to be a blessing. The water is clean and clear. We were able to wash the mud from our hiking shoes at the overflow pipe after each day's walk. [It rained both days and the fields were VERY muddy.] Veronica helped us spread out our wet things on the stone floor of the hallway to maximize the drying overnight.
We were also very thankful for the sitting area in the room so we can really sit and put our feet up for the evening. [So much better than sitting on the bed for it.]
We appreciated the concern for conservation and their policy of not changing linens and towels daily, esp. since were staying only 2 nights. Great idea.
All and all were we very happy to have started our walking trip there. Will return when we are in the area again.
