This was our second stay in The Beckford in January due to business. The first time was a walk off the street enquiry. We were offered the new or old building when asked for the best room we were offered a room in the old building which was clean and nicely decorated with modernised bathroom. The bed was so comfortable with a chunky quilt and throwover which was nice and cosy. The bar staff were friendly as were the owners and we were soon chatting with the locals. The meal was excellent, we asked for extras such as spinach which was available. Breakfast was freshly cooked full english and we were able to have the spinach with that too! Our second visit we stayed in the new building which was just as comfortable with secure access and again clean and nicely decorated. We highly recommend this lovely pub and looking at the marquee and the outside seating we can see it is a busy little place in the Summer. We hope to return when the weather improves. For those who are light sleepers bear in mind this is just off the A46 which becomes busy early morning, however this was not an issue for us.

My Partner and I stayed here on the 25th December after a lovely Christmas Day with our family who live locally. The room we stayed in was very clean, comfortable and richly decorated in fashionable and chic tones (coppery browns, greys and blacks). My only slight criticism would be that the room was a little cold (mind you, we did not return to the room until 2am by which time the heating had probably been turned off)! We awoke to a delicious, well presented breakfast. We were generously offered a late breakfast at 10.30 - many B'n'B's or guesthouses would not serve you this late in my experience. The service was warm and friendly and the pub/guesthouse is set in a very charming location. I would definitely stay here again.

Called there for lunch and found the whole thing very amateurish. The portions were tiny, in fact I thought they had brought me a child's portion and the food very basic and unimaginative. Service was poor, and the drinks over priced. All in all a very forgettable experience. Expensive for what we had.

My wife and I are staying nearby and thought we would try out the food . A couple of days ago we chose from the lunchtime menu and were very disappointed with the portion size which left us still hungry ! Two days later we agreed to give it the benefit of the doubt and tried the evening . They were not exactly busy but we still had to wait 40minutes. And once again the portion sizes were very small. Would not return or recommend! Would not have minded so much if had been cheap !

Room Tip: Only ate in the restaurant ,did not stay in the hotel.

We booked this last minute which is something we never do.had a lovely room The Limes.Disappointing bar area as lighting was far too bright. Breakfast was good and we both sampled the omelettes.Outside area was not what we expected as photographs gave the impression that there was a large lawn at the back with tables and chairs. However in reality this area was to the front of the hotel and there was a marquee for weddings on the lawn

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back.
