“Beautiful cottage in a great location”

For our family of eight get together the location was ideal & I booked the cottage because it had the right number of bedrooms & bathrooms. The cottage is very tastefully furnished & finished to a really high standard. Sometimes holiday rentals are cheap & a bit lacking. Not this one, everything was lovely & comfortable and high end. We were able to step out of the front door & find some great walks without having to drive to them, but quite honestly we loved the cottage so much we wanted to be in it. Out of the back door was a small garden with comfy seating for 6 and 2 tractor stools, with a bench at the bottom of the garden where you can catch the last rays!
There was a pub and village shop a few yards away. Quick to drive to was Stowe on the Wold & Moreton in Marsh, a little bit further was Bourton on the Water. My only criticism is that it's sold as a cottage for 8, however to get all 8 of us round the dining table we had to bring in a little table from the lounge (there were 8 dining chairs) this wasn't a problem for us, but it's worth knowing.
The attic bedroom was a little awkward for two grown ups, but we managed. Ideally I would say this is a 6 grown ups & 2 kids accommodation. But if 2 grown ups in your party are petite, you'll be fine. Would definitely recommend & would love to return.

“Comfortable and cosy; ideal for a family get-together.”

Fairview Cottage is like a Tardis: it looks small from the outside but has been extended to provide spacious, warm and cosy accommodation inside. Beds were comfy and everywhere was clean and fresh. The kitchen opens on to the patio where we spent a lot of time due to great April weather, enjoying the sun and the resident chaffinch. We managed to squeeze 8 of us round the dining table for dinner. Parking wasn't a problem in the village. The pub was friendly and served standard pub grub. Bourton on the Water and Broadway were within a short driving distance, although I suggest you avoid Bourton on a sunny Saturday if you don't like crowds or fancy a wait of 20 minutes to get served in the pub! We also took several pleasant walks through the fields around the village.
Only downsides- the largest bedroom does not have an en-suite, and due to the low ceilings there is limited storage space in the bedrooms. No matter; this is a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Longborough.

Everything worked but it took us a while to make the Stow annex warm. We needed the thermostat up higher than we thought. We cooked quite a bit so were pleased with the kitchen equipment. All it needed was a potato peeler which I hear is to be replaced. We were delighted with the décor and the various objet d'art which made it very homely. We also liked the amusing instructions and messages on the soft toys. Although it wasn't warm during our stay, the outdoor space was good. There was plenty of space for the children to run around and the patio area looked good. We even liked the little one at the end which caught a bit of sun. The lounge was comfortable but if there were 8 of us we would have missed all sitting around the dining table. However for 7 a round table was very sociable. We appreciated there being supplies of basic needs in the cottage (and the little treats!) and if we had known we wouldn't have had to pack so much! The nearby village community shop was well supplied with quality fresh produce and. very friendly too. The village pub is two minutes walk away for a good simple meal.

Have just spent 3 nights with extended family at Fairview Cottage and couldn't fault it! The cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard........is in a great location for walks from the doorstep and trips by car to other Cotswolds villages and towns. There is a really friendly local pub and community shop..........what more could you want?
Really hope to return one day!

“Fantastic cottage, superb 10/10”

I spent a lovely weekend here with friends for my birthday and had a great time. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and immaculately furnished. It is situated in a pretty and quiet village with a pub and village shop both a very short stones throw away
The cottage itself has 4 bedrooms including an outside bedroom which opens directly onto the garden and all were as nice as the best hotels I've ever stayed in, if not better
There were some lovely touches including a bottle of wine and a birthday cake when we arrived, also everything you could ask for was there, even down to the kitchen eg top quality dab radio, top quality fridge, washing machine etc no expense has been spared here and everything has been done to make this as perfect as possible down to the chalk board in the kitchen with all the local events in the area which is updated for that particular month. I could go on and on about this cottage but suffice it to say it is one of the best places I've ever stayed at and I cant recommend it highly enough 10/10
