I have stayed at this hotel on a number of single night stays and the service is super, very friendly & helpful the even remembered I prefer a duvet. Rooms are slightly dated , but very clean and comfy. The food is superb at dinner - I have had some outstanding meals. It's a pity they still charge extra for wifi . I will be back again though as its a very relaxing place.

Our second visit in 2 years and the welcome was just as warm. The house, grounds and surrounding countryside are just as lovely with great walks and pubs nearby. The website has recently been updated which was well overdue and shows the hotel in a much truer light. Local ales are available in the lounge - all good and distinctive and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Service was also beyond criticism, genuinely friendly and unobtrusive. The hotel's pool is one of its features which we love but it was looking a little sad this time. Possibly the awful weather prior to our stay contributed, but a daily clean with a net would clear most of the leaves and debris. Had one been available we would have gladly done it ourselves. The water was very cold which was apparently due to a faulty heating mechanism. It didn't bother us but I can understand how others would be less understanding. This is a quality hotel charging a commensurate rate for all rooms, food and drinks. With that in mind it did slightly annoy and disappoint us that wi-fi was chargeable - a facility whch once established costs the same regardless of use. Overall, a relaxing, stress-free weekend and still a hotel we would recommend for a treat.

Room Tip: First-Floor rooms are the largest and 5, the front corner room has stunning views over the valley.

i have just returned from a visit to highgrove the garden of Prince of Wales we stayed over night at the Burleigh Court after chicking tripadvisor ?
First, it is very hard to find in the middle of the summer, and would be imposible in the dark
second, the food is very poor both my wife and i left ours, as it was cold and geasy
this was not helped as we were the only customers,
I did not sleep well because i was very hungery and the beds were very hard
i would not recomend this hotel but the vue is very nice

Staff charming and food of real quality. Great place for a short break whilst exploring area. Close to Berkeley Castle, the Jenner Museum and the lovely Cotswold villages of Painswick and Slad.

Stayed here for one night as a 'just the 2 of us for the weekend' treat without the rest of the family - excellent location and beautiful, peaceful setting in an old country house. Couldn't fault the service, from the friendly welcome on arrival, through service at dinner and then at breakfast the following morning.

We had a second floor ('superior') room in the main house, with excellent views over the front gardens and Golden Valley - king sized bed (two singles zipped together) in a moderately sized room, but with a very small, scruffy and awkwardly shaped bathroom (with the danger of burning your knees on the radiator when sitting on the loo.....). Shower is 'over the bath' type with flexible hose, but was not very satisfactory, and there was LOTS of hair in the bath plughole - not very welcoming. When provided with this feedback the management did suggest the room was due for refurbishment ... but that didn't help us.

Dinner in the restaurant was moderately expensive, but the quality made it worth it. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, and presentation of both starters and mains was wonderful. However, breakfast was a bit of a disappointment by comparison, let down by poor quality sausages (pappy texture apart from the piece of gristle!) and the [small] piece of black pudding (half a 2-inch round - why only half?) Apparently we could have asked for more, but that's not the point! This was a shame as breakfast is the last meal before you check-out and it leaves a lasting impression ...

Overall, this hotel appears to be living either on its past glories or on the reputation of its restaurant (for dinner, and possibly lunch). Very good, friendly service but needs to address the 'little things' that matter to provide value for B&B customers - if the room is marketed as 'superior' then it has to be way above the standard we got.

Room Tip: Excellent views from second floor rooms at front of main house

Expensive for what you get. Beautiful setting. Very dated & needs some fine attention which could turn this into an amazing boutique hotel. Disappointed with the quality and the price charged. Breakfast finished at 9.30am on a Saturday - the hotel were accomdating and served us after this time, we thought this was an unacceptable time to finish breakfast on a weekend. The quality of the breatfast was very poor with cheap ingredients used. This is more like a 2* hotel and we would not recommend. There are plenty of nicer places to stay. Disappointed!!!
