I can't recommend this Gite enough, it was perfect for our family holiday, great situation about an hour from the tourist attractions of the beautiful Mont St Michel and Granville and an hour and a half from the D day beaches so there's loads to do but it's also in a lovely quiet location close to the French towns of Mortain and St Hilaire du Harcouet both with amazing markets and restaurants. The Gite itself is a real home from home, really well equipped with comfortable beds, a traditional French kitchen and the games room and trampoline were well used by our children, when they weren't catching grasshoppers ! The local wildlife was also a real bonus and it was a perfect place to come back to every evening to sit outside in total peace while the sun went down with a glass of wine !
A great gite, just like home from home, only better views. Great for getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life for a few days.
Everything you need for an enjoyable holiday is here.
This gite is the ideal 'get away from it all'. Lovely and spacious with a beautiful traditional French kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and airy. Very well equipped kitchen, and large stock of cleaning products etc. which was very thoughtful. English televsion channels was a bonus too. Only a few miles from Le Teilleul and slightly further away from Mortain to get larger supermarkets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this gem of a place.
Beautiful and tranquil rural setting. Set among rolling farmland yet close to lovely towns with all amenities - Mortain, steeped with fascinating WW2 history, open air pool, waterfall and good restaurants 7km, St Hilaire-du-Harcouet - lovely town with excellent child friendly municipal indoor pool, public gardens surrounding beautiful lake with play area shadowed by the magnificent Eglise 8km.
Mont St Michel an hour away, our boys loved it as well as the nearby Alligator Bay - incredible collection of gators, snakes, reptiles and giant tortoises. Great day out.
The house is truly rustic and traditional. Chris has renovated the upstairs since our last visit to a really high standard offering loads of space for two families.
The biggest plus for us is the incredibly friendly reaction we get from the locals especially farmer Michel (only neighbour) who could not be more welcoming - tractor rides for the boys and real French hospitality.
Don't pass by the little cafe/bar and local poduce shop ( La Cour des Grands) at Bion - about 2km away. A hang out for locals and farm workers, so friendly and so traditionally French- made our boys so welcome each time.
The house has everything we needed. Huge rustic kitchen, very tidy comfortable bedrooms and even UK freesat TV - not used much but handy.
This is the place for you if you want peace, rest, beautiful rural countryside, a gorgeous traditional farmhouse and to experience the real French way of life !
