“Planet green - Great experience”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

Myself and my husband was ready to explore this place as referred by our friends. They share a lot of good feel about the place and that helped us narrow down this place. I would say a best place for a couple to stay back and relax along with the nature. All four days was a pleasant stay for us. If you are person to stick to a room with your patner and enjoy the nature and spend time with him/her then this place is the right place. Do not miss it. We felt like being home. Hospitality is pretty good and the people over there are too kind and provide all that we want within no time. Food is amazing and you get fish whenver you want ;-). The honeymoon suit is fantastic and gives us a great feel when you stay there. I love the balcony which has the valley view. A cup of coffe or tea and you rest on the chair feels heaven:-).

Great co-ordination done by Aparna. Also so by Radhakrishnan who took care of us very well when we were there

Great place to live in for 4 days. Don't miss it.

The view from the room is exotic offering a spectacular view of the Chembra peak, changing its hue at different times of the day. The resort staff are very friendly and helpful and always at your service. The food is also fantastic, the staff particularly Mr Radhakrishnan ready to cater to any of your special food preferences. Only difficulty is the approach road to the resort , which you have to negotiate with care. Grateful to Ms Aparna and Mr Anand to make this possible.

The view from the balcony is nothing short of spectacular. The staff (comprising of star attraction Radhakrishnan and the others) are friendly and helpful. The walk to the stream (praised by other reviewers) was a bit of a let down. And you really need to be careful if you have children because there are steps everywhere and not too many flat areas inside. Here are some suggestions for the management. Please clean up the place - the play-area was littered with discarded trash on both days that we were there. There were empty bottles placed on the main gate due to which we couldn't take a picture of the entrance. Please improve maintenance - many of the steps and hand rails are broken (the staff said we want to keep it natural as if broken is natural!). The play-area has some nice stuff but unusable e.g. the slip was rusty and almost broken. Also management could provide tea making facilities in the room for those moments when you don't want to ask for room service but just want to quietly make your own tea. Finally, a welcome letter or note in each room introducing guests to the property and things to do in the area would be nice. Bottom line: what these guys lack in infrastructure, they almost make up through services.

The location of the resort stands true to its name. It was wonderful to stay amidst so much greenery. The view from the balcony was breathtaking especially during the early mornings.
We were 6 adults and 3 kids. We stayed in a single suite. The suite was quite spacious, comfortably accomodated all of us. So much relief when I saw geese and rabbit inside the property since we were thinking of how to keep the kids entertained. The service and the food were good. Overall it was a very good experience for all of us. I would like to thank Aparna and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

The view that we had was absolutley fabulous. The staff and food was also awesome. We were a group of 2 familes traveling together (2 women, 3 teens, 1 child) and very much felt welcomed here. Upon arriving they even offered us a third room that was empty with no extra charge so that we could spread out a little. We had a couple of very picky eaters with us and they made sure that there were several options for everyone and it was also delicious and incredibly affordable. My daughter had recently been quite ill and was still recovering and really only wanted grilled cheese sandwiches, which they provided in abundance! It became a joke with everyone. We were given a walking tour around the plantation which was wonderful but a little fast paced for this 40 plus underexercised American woman. The kids loved it and the description of the village and landscape. They also arranged for us to have a driver to take us to the Edakkal Cave (WARNING: MAJOR WORKOUT!!!) and to one of the waterfalls (also a workout). We enjoyed the cave but the vibe at the waterfall was a little off. There were mainly men swimming and a few ladies sitting on the side. We were the only Americans there and since our group consisted of 2 woman and 2 teenage girls we felt a little uncomfortable so we did not swim. Out of our month of traveling across India the waterfall was really the only place we ever felt uncomfortable, of course this has nothing to do with planet green. Planet Green Plantation was perfect for us as it was near the end of a very active busy scedule of traveling and it was a great place to relax and chill out. We also loved the monkeys. The rooms are very basic but have beautiful views and decks to sit on. I would give this a place a 5 if the wi-fi had been dependable. It was super slow and you really couldn't get anything but basic email checking done and that took forever. Maybe it's because this place really is in the middle of nowhere? Also, the roads are really bad to get there. I hope to someday be able to go back and take my husband because he would truly love this place.

Room Tip: Get the ones on the second level, they are bigger and have better views but all views are nice.

We were a group of 12 adults of various ages, with the oldest being 80+! The entire family enjoyed their stay. Whatever issues (hot water, bad TV remote) we had were dealt by the staff immediately and with attention. Right from the reservation onwards, communication with the resort was very good. We also had the opportunity to custom make the menu for each meal. Mr Radhakrishnan, Mr Justin and Mr Chandran do a great job of taking care of guests in terms of meals. The rooms and the dining area have a scenic view of Chembra peak and you feel nestled in greenery. The resort has a number of birds for petting, and although a pool was mentioned we didn't see one. However, since our intention was to spend quality time with each other, this didn't matter. The ambience was perfect and we felt that the staff accommodated us very nicely. Overall, value for money.

This was my first vacation/long journey trip for my son who is just 3 yrs.The resort was full of green especially the rooms having view of hills, we together with our son enjoyed first day evening with birds, duck, rabbit, trekking inside the resort and it was so relaxing. Next day we went to site seeing, which was arranged by resort with very good travels and journey was very comfortable and safe, Since the resort was full with families my son was enjoyed playing carom, shuttle......Food was good and it was given in time, thanks to Mr. Radhikrishnan who serviced with smiling face in our request. Last day again morning we went trekking inside the resort to enjoy the morning climate, it was so peaceful and we really wanted to extend our vacation.... Thanks to Mrs Aparna, who was so polite right from my booking to arranging all my requests in resort. It was a great and memorable vacation for us,,,,,,,,,
