Sundown Manor made for a perfect beautiful base from which to explore Cape Town. In fact, it was so pleasant there that some days we didn't even feel any rush to go out.

The "Luxury" room we stayed in was airy and spacious, and beautifully decorated. Beds were superb. The breakfast on an outdoor patio was a pleasure. The swimming pool is a great temperature and very pleasant. Parking is secure and spacious. WiFi signal was strong.

The location is fantastic - you are a 5 minute walk away from the Sea Point Swimming Pool and the promenade. Lots of shops and restaurants are on Main St just 2 blocks away. You can catch the tourist Red Bus there as well.... we walked the promenade into Green Point, which is about 20 minutes. Camps Bay is a short drive/cab ride away, as is Signal Hill. We hopped in our car one night and drove up the winding road to Signal Hill to catch the magnificent sunset. -- the Signal Hill/Lion's Head area is no more than a 10 minute drive away. I think by cab it would be maybe 50 rand from here to most touristy places in Cape Town (less than $5).

The area is very safe to walk as well, in my experience. Before coming to Cape Town I was confused as to the best part of the city to stay in. We split our stay between Sundown Manor and a hotel close to the Waterfront. In retrospect, I much prefer Sundown's Sea Point location. It's a much more authentic Cape Town experience. The V&A is a bit of a tourist trap and kind of isolated from the real city.

I highly recommend Sundown Manor. Hope we can come back one day.

We stayed in Cape Town for just 2 nights...far too short! Our stay was very comfortable in clean rooms with good beds. Gary, Lindy and all the other staff were fantastic and very helpful. We found the neighbourhood quite safe and could walk to a close restaurant without any problems.

We were in Cape Town just for 2 nights and 3 days. We had the best location and neighborhood that I can think off. Lindsy was very helpful and was very accommodating to our requests. The place was clean and everything was beautiful. Going down to the V and A is a breeze as you can take a Taxi which are pretty dependable ran from $ 7 to 8. Most of the time was helped by Lindsy. Try taking a Taxi for the whole day (negotiate) if you are a party of 4 best deal to go to see the penguins seals and cape of good hope.
This B&B surely stands out for all even the mini bar that you can use and the prices are very reasonable. Breakfast is reasonable and had no complains. Will visit again

Being in Capetown for our first time, we were apprehensive as we had heard not-so-good- experiences about Joburg' but that was all changed as our host Gary & Lindy including all the other friendly staff members made our stay very comfortable. We found the area safe as were able to drive around till late without any occurrence. Waking up to a beautiful sight of the Table mountain from our room window was just sublime. Loved the healthy breakfast & the clean rooms. The proximity to all the beautiful sites around Capetown was on point as we were able to access them very easily. Will be in Capetown again & we'll be back at Sundown Manor! keep up the superb work team Gary!

Sundown Manor's location is ideal for seeing Cape Town. We only had a few days and were able to get around to very lovely sights quite easily. With the extraordinary and delightful service of Lindy - manager, cook, greeter, concierge - we obtained easy directions, help with charging our devices, and all-round good advice. We rented bikes and rode down the coastline, stopping at the beaches and checking out the beautiful homes; hiked Table Mountain; and visited the breath-taking Cape of Good Hope. All easily accessible from Sundown Manor! We would love to return for a longer stay.

Cannot rate our stay highly enough. From arrival to departure everything was done to make our stay perfect. The only down side of writing a revue is the difficulty it presents when trying to book next time. Sundown has so many happy guests it is always full.
