We booked for 6people, arrived and some one in front of us were given our table they had not even booked ! Still got another table and waited 20 mins for drinks, 20 min for menu !
Then 40 min for meal the place was half empty ! My fillet steak was cooked blue how I asked for it but it was so tough I could only eat half of it ! Pizza was nothing to write home about, wine was £18 bottle for cheap Chardonnay !!! Waited 20 mins for the bill and it had no total !! The land lady was nice and friendly but we did not even get offered any dessert menu we just wanted to go by now
All in all very dissatisfied particularly with service, we won't go back shame that place needs a good pub we waited long enough for it to open !

Had a fab meal with my sisters. We were made very welcome and enjoyed a delicious and ample meal with some lovely wine. I had a delicious vegetarian pasta dish with chargrilled peppers and olives whilst my sisters enjoyed pizzas that literally hung over the plates. All fresh. Already planned next Meal. Well worth a visit.

which lets face it is a alot of todays food out is pre-prepared, not a microwave in sight !!
hallelouya proper food !!. pizza and pasta fantastico , and the spaghetti bolognese was the best ive had out in 20yrs and i eat out twice a week and have been doing so for 20yrs.
brushetta-garlic bread was superb and all very keenly priced.

We visited Tuesday this week for an inpromptu meal and had a fabulous experience. We were welcomed like old friends, the place was busy but not too busy (always a good sign when the locals are flocking in!), and we each had a delicious meal (from the Italian specilals board) and a good glass of wine. The seafood linguini was excellent - huge amounts of clams, langoustines and mussels!

Will return very soon and can't recommend highly enough.

The Buthay is now under new ownership. This is well overdue and the result is well worth a visit. I think you will be glad you did. The drinks are first class and the food is just simply wonderful. This along with super friendly staff makes for a great experience.

Have eaten twice in the last week and impressed both times. Good that the venue is split into bar, pizzeria and Italian restaurant. Also worth a mention is the excellent garden and enclosed children's area. The staff/owners are most welcoming, especially the genuine Italian Chef Peppe(!) and the food is fresh, great tasting and food is excellent value. All in all a much needed addition to Wickwar, long may it continue!!

I stayed here whilst visiting family nearby and had a wonderful time. Great atmosphere comfortable room, friendly staff. The home made food was excellent and they had my all-time favourite dish - liver and bacon which was excellent! Not to mention the choice of ales and ciders available! The final icing on the cake was an excellent playground in the garden which kept my children occupied for hours! I'd recommend the Buthay to anyone!
