“Unwelcoming and cold”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

My partner & myself had the misfortune of visiting this pub last week. The lady who I believe owns the place was probably the rudest person i have ever met. We were told abruptly to finish our drinks at 2pm as she was closing, The food we had was best described as boil in the bag junk and the pub itself was freezing. If this is the standard The Cotswolds have to offer I am staying away. Dreadful.

“So homely and welcoming”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

The staff were so welcoming we felt like locals. Excellent Donnington beer. There was a wide range of food - all beautifully cooked and very generous portions, served with all sorts of vegetables. The cost of our meal with wine was so low that we had to check they'd charged us for everything we had! An added bonus was the skittle alley at the back of the pub. We were staying he village for 3 nights and ate here on the second night. The pub was very busy and there was a group having a birthday celebration - they had booked the skittle alley and invited us to join the game for a bit of fun. We enjoyed the meal , the ambience and the skittles so much that we went back again the following night.
