We really loved The Hollow Bottom, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, the food was absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend the Venison - it was first class, compliments to the chef. We stayed for 2 nights in Earth Summit, which was so clean and inviting and had absolutely everything we needed. Guiting Power village was so peaceful and quiet, our weekend was much more relaxed than anticipated, we didn't want to leave! Cannot wait to go back to the Hollow Bottom, maybe try the Pigeon next time!

Stayed on a hot July weekend with family. Booked two rooms which were both on the small side but well kitted out and tasteful with all you could need - including good coffee with a cafetiere. Great bathrooms with modern showers and fittings. This is a popular pub with locals and more, making for a hearty atmosphere and there will be some hubbub at night, but either join in or take an extra drink to help you sleep. Breakfast and food was well thought out, but the best part of the stay is the staff, who work hard with a great attitude. The village of Guiting Power is a gem too. Lots of walking in varied landscapes and well off the beaten Cotswold path.

Room Tip: Only a handful of rooms, but the two we had were well decorated and laid out.

Stayed just one night but managed to eat lunch, dinner and breakfast! Great pub, excellent staff and the food and wine were super. Bedroom small but very comfortable with views over countryside. Guiting Power is a pretty village, very quiet. Really enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon

Room Tip: Our room had private bathroom across corridor; we got good at streaking across from our room to the...

We stayed in the hollow bottom in the run up to my friend’s wedding and we had booked out all of the rooms for the wedding party. The team were so friendly and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. We had a delicious dinner on the Friday night and then had Maddie the resident makeup artist come on do our makeup on the Saturday, she was excellent and did a wonderful job. The team then came to collect us all after the wedding which was very handy and then as a favor drove us back the next morning to collect all of our cars. Everyone was so kind and friendly that it was a pleasure to stay there and it made the bride very happy as they had everything planned and executed it all perfectly.

Room Tip: The Earth Summit was a lovely room with more than enough space for us all to get ready

We stayed a couple of nights, in their annex. It was perfectly comfortable, but nothing amazing. The pub is fine and the people friendly. Watch it, though, with the food. It is overpriced and not very good. If you are there, don't order anything more complicated than a burger or sausages, and you'll be fine.

Thank you for your comments and we are delighted that you found our pub to be both comfortable & friendly. Both our Menus on food & drink are being reviewed at present to help those customers on a tight budget and there will be some radical price changes. We have recently been awarded "Cotswold's Best Pub Food" from our local Food & Drink producers and we disagree strongly that our food is ordinary. We do feel that your nonconstructive & uneducated comments on the food are wholly inaccurate and quite honestly unnecessarily insulting of our fantastic, hardworking Award winning Chefs.

They're all horse-racing mad here, and as it's a 17th century building, the 'guest stables' are a bit snug. But top chef Charlie Pettigrew produces superb cuisine based on top-quality cuts of meat (we sampled the venison and the lamb with a herb crust). You won't find horsemeat on the menu, though!

Thank you so much for a great review. You clearly know your food and you chose well with the Local Venison & Lamb in Herb crust (my favourite) Charlie & Karen, our top Chefs have worked together for 12 years in our kitchen and they are always looking to improve on the high standard they have set. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

we visited The Hollow Bottom in May for a birthday weekend. Its a bit off the beaten track, and due to the rotten weather we weren't able to go out (it was lashing rain and very windy and we had no suitable shoes/clothing).

The pub itself is lovely, very olde worlde, our bedroom was large, clean and comfortable and the staff were very obliging and welcoming. However, I did feel that the drinks were expensive and the food was not that good (nothing out of the ordinary and expensive for what it was). The breakfast not good, the eggs did not look particularly appetising and the fried bread left a lot to be desired! (dripped fat onto plate when you bit into it - not pleasant!). The room was not cheap - it cost over £100 for the two of us for one night - paid less for better even in London.

All in all, an disappointing weekend
