This was our first visit to this hotel and we were very impressed with the level of customer service. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from the reception through to the bar staff and restaurant staff. Our room was immaculate, the food both in the bar and restaurant was very good, would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Our room was on first floor and was very quiet.

Stayed for a long weekend on a dinner bed and breakfast package, imagine our consternation on booking a table for dinner we were told that the restaurant was fully booked. On informing the head waiter that we were on a DBB package he said he could squeeze us in at 9-15pm,we opted for room service.
The steak was tough and the chips were not fit to eat .
The next night in the restaurant this time had the lemonade battered fish( solid as a rock ) skin on the fish, same chips as the night before, refused them boiled potatoes were brought as a substitute.
On checking other diner's plates going back almost all had chips on them. Why does nobody take any notice of this fact and change them
The room entry card:twice having got to the room on the 2nd floor the card would not let us in ,we then had to go to reception to have it re-programmed,not very happy
Room facilities quite good ,fresh milk in the fridge, bed very comfortable.

Breakfast buffet style lots of fruit, cereals cooked breakfast plentiful.

Dear Jean/bManchester
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your comments regarding your recent stay at The Chase. We really do appreciate all of our customer feedback and it proves to be a most valuable tool in maintaining our levels of guest satisfaction for the future.
I was disappointed to read your comments regarding the standard of food that you received in the restaurant and the issues you experienced with your key card and hope that you will accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Our restaurant does get very busy during peak times and we do endeavour to advise all of our guests to pre-book their preferred time for dinner. I do apologise if this was not mentioned to you during booking stage and I will ensure that our reservations teams are briefed to ensure that this happens without fail in future.
I do hope that your stay with us was otherwise enjoyable.
Kind regards

Lovely, friendly staff and the spa treatments were wonderful! Just a shame the quality of the food (dinner) on both nights was poor and most dishes served luke warm. Also could not get the room to warm up despite leaving the heating on 32 degrees.

Dear pips78
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to comment on your stay at The Cheltenham Chase Hotel. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your Spa treatments and found our staff to be so friendly and will ensure that your comments are passed on to the team.
It was a shame therefore to read your comments regarding the food quality. As you can see from the majority of reviews on this site this is not a true reflection of our normal standards at present and I have passed your comments on to the team here in order to take any action necessary for the future.
Our air conditioning/heating systems in each room are functioning correctly as far as I am aware, however I will ask our housekeeping team to check all of the units to ensure that there are no faults. I hope that you will accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
I do hope that your stay with us was otherwise enjoyable and that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Hotel in the near future.
Kind regards

My husband chose this hotel as a surprise for me for my 50th Birthday. The hotel was great, the room very clean, tidy and spacious with an excellent view of Coopers Hill. The food was very tasty and well presented - and plenty of it!!! The service was unbeatable, extremely attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for you . The Spa facilities are brilliant. All in all it really made our break. We couldn't find fault with any of it. Definately recommend anyone go here, didn't want to go home!

Dear JulieE

Thank you so much for your kind comments, you have just made my day and I will take great pleasure in passing on your feedback to all of the team involved in what was a very busy weekend. Well done for recognising Coopers Hill on our doorstep- the infamous Cotswolds “cheese rolling” hill . There is so much to do locally we do hope to welcome you back in the near future.

My husband and I would normally stay in Witney when visiting the cotswolds, but decided to try somewhere else. The choice could not of been better. The hotel is lovely, staff very attentive and the rooms are a wonderful size. Clean, comfortable beds and a separate shower cubicle, which means no horrid shower curtain. The first evening we ate in the restaurant. Food was beautiful and again lovely staff. Breakfast is also of a good standard, only small criticism is not enough staff to clear tables in between dishes. Our last evening we chose to eat in the Lounge area, again good choice of food and I would recommend the chicken and bacon pasta, but I think you will find the small option is more than enough. Ordered the large and couldnt eat it all, even though it was delicious. we will definitely consider returning to The Cheltenham Chase

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to pass on your kind comments. Witney’s loss is our gain with our south Cotswolds location. I will take great pleasure in passing on your feedback to all of the team involved in what was a very busy weekend. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future for more Cotswolds exploring.

We arrived for a relaxing spa break over the bank holiday weekend. On arrival we requested a room with a view, we got a view of the car park. On trying to call the front desk there was no answer after a couple of attempts. The room was tired with large cracks to the sloping ceiling and down the wall with paint flaking on the window sill with obvious damp mould areas. The spa was open to all, kids 'dive bombing' was not my idea of a relaxing spa break. When we highlighted our concerns to the front desk at dinner, they couldn't offer us a comment card but a headed note piece of paper instead. On closing the curtains, we saw a large layer of thick dust across the top of the curtains. We met with the duty manager the following morning who had to take us back to the room to prove our issues with the room despite showing her photographic evidence. On the whole very disappointing for a 4* hotel.

Dear J-N7

May I thank you for taking the time and trouble to pass on your constructive comments following your spa break which I have also received direct. I was most disappointed to hear of our shortcomings with your room and with children’s use of the pool and would like to apologise. We have pool rules that we ask all parents to abide by but regret that we may now have to consider stationing a team member poolside at peak bank holiday weekends to ensure that they are adhered to. We have an ongoing refurbishment programme with the feature wall in your room having been redecorated only this February. Unfortunately following a leak the window wall had to be left to fully dry before redecoration hence the cracking. It has now been redecorated and I am sorry that this was not the case last weekend.
Thank you for your feedback.
Kind regards
Keith Turnbull

This was a very last minute booking for a two night Easter break for wife, me and 9 year old son. Really glad we found it as it was a great choice. As previous reviewers have said, the service was very good. In particular James (restaurant manager) who recalled we wanted an earlier booking for dinner on the Sunday night and came and found us and told us a slot had become free. Geri, who served us dinner on the Sunday night - great service. And a young lad behind the bar who, seeing that my son was looking a little bored, came over and told us about the Wii that was set up in an adjacent room. A good touch!
Room was comfortable and quiet, food of a good standard, breakfast plentiful, pool and spa are great for kids.
Only downside was that we were told that we could book spa treatments on the day we wanted them but when we went to book were told there were no more slots available.
Would really recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing break and would definitely go back again.

Thank you so much for your “cracking” comments. They have made my day and I will take great pleasure in passing on your feedback to James, Geri and to all of the team involved in what was a very busy weekend. I am delighted that the Wii games room was utilised and just hope that on your next visit the weather is kinder and you get the chance to explore Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Cotswolds.
