We stayed recently in room 25, great room jacuzzi and powerful shower. Nice and airy with views over countryside.
The food was really tasty, however they offered Scallops and salmon on a la carte but upon service was told there was no salmon. However the duty manager was very polite and professional. Breakfast was great. smoked haddock with poached eggs and a monster omelette.
We would return again. It was also dog friendly with little restriction on access areas which was great for our spaniel.

We have mixed feeling to our experience at the restaurant whilst we had our Sunday lunch.
Although the hotel grounds and the restaurant initially felt very appealing the quality of food we were presented with was of poor value.
My husbands soup was luke warm and inadequate portion of vegetables that was already on the plate. (We were expecting a small dish of vegetables to arrive.) We eventually found a desert spoonful of veg under the small amount of meat and three halves of roast potates. A small cheesecake with a slither of strawberry and two blackberries and a teaspoon of fruit puree followed leaving us still in need of nourishment.
We have had better pub Sunday lunches at half the price.
Would we return or recommend?.....Absolutely not due to poor value for money. All in all a rip off!

Room Tip: We did not stay

We stayed at the hotel as the 6 of us were going to Stroud show. I had booked and the cost was £60 per double room per night.. on arrival and on seeing the room we all thought had I been told the wrong cost.............incredibly not! Our room was so comfortable with a huge bath and lovely views over the countryside and the lights of Gloucester ( amazing lightening storm as an extra). Charming courteous professional staff. Breakfast was delicious and fresh and tasty! Best toast ever!
As we all were soaked through and tired after the show it was such a pleasure to return to such a comfortable place!! Thank you to all the team at Hatton Court!

Room Tip: It was lovely and peaceful at the back - room 24

Unfortunately we only stayed one nght here. What a delightful place - deserved of 5 stars. They say its the little things that matter and it sure is. These guys have got it spot on. Our room was delightfully furnished - appropriate to the style of the building - anything modern would have looked wrong. The fresh milk in the fridge for using to make tea and coffee was an unexpected luxury, given that it was complimentary as well as the bottles of water.
We ate a la carte and the food was delicious. In fact our restaurant bill was more than our overnight stay.
I only wish we hadn't had to get up and leave early the next morning as I would have loved to have been able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast - there were so many delightful choices to choose from, but we were up early and haven eaten late the night before I couldn't do breakfast any justice but everything that was coming out of the kitchens looked fabulous.
I will definately be coming back for more - just wish I had more reasons to go to this part of the country - purely so that I can visit again !!!!!!!

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing views towards the Severn estuary. The rooms are large and comfortably furnished with huge beds. It is set in a peaceful location and even though there was a function in the marquee the night I stayed I didn't hear any noise at all from my room in the new part of the hotel.

The breakfast was truly amazing with a choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts etc and you could also have a full English breakfast too.

Incredible value for money. Will definitely return.

Fabulous views and good food with beds to stay in for ages. The staff are pleasant with Craig the barman a good laugh. If you go please call him Captain Awesome. and your service and craic will be good. The restaurant staff are attentive and the food of a high standard.

Room Tip: Just get what suits your pocket. No disappointment guaranteed

Book through travel zoo for a overnight stay, with dinner and breakfast, room was large and very relaxing, food was good at dinner, breakfast was a bit slow, but they were busy. Would recommend and go again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. ... more   less
