We stayed here fora weekend as my friend was getting married at the local farm. The check inn was easy even though it was later at night, we had a table reserved in the pub for food. The food was great and the pub busy, the service was good and my husband assures me the choice of ales was excellent.

The room is basic but nice. It has no soundproofing and there's no pressure in the shower but it's clean, the bed is comfy and the room large. It was lovely waking up to the sounds of all the birds. The maid who cleaned our room only seemed to do half a job, we found the rubbish bins still full on the dresser?!

The breakfast was awesome too, staff again super friendly. The pub is just perfect on a summers day and at night with all the candles it's beautiful.

Eaten at this lovely country pub before and loved it. Came back this time and stayed over night. Very comfortable rooms and the breakfast was oustanding.

What fantastic staff! Nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and full of smiles :)

Will definitely be returning!

A lovely pub with great food and atmosphere in the main (old) area. Staff were absolutely lovely and helpful and 10 of us had a great meal Saturday night (4 couples staying). The accommodation block is at the rear and, while very clean and comfortable, is modern and a little utilitarian. Choices for vegetarians a bit limited, especially at breakfast but we had a great time, the beer was great, the food nearly perfect (notably the fish specials but I have had a better steak) and the beds comfortable. Handy for walks along the Thames-Severn Canal path, buses to Stroud and Gloucester. Highly recommended for friends' get-togethers

Room Tip: All much he same I believe so no need to bother

We had visited before but took some friends here for 3 days over Easter. We were all very impressed with the accommodation, the food and the extremely helpful and friendly staff. A very pleasant atmosphere, gorgeous log fire, superb food and (according to my other half) very good ales! The accommodation has been upgraded since we last visited and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Beautiful quiet spot but very close to Cirencester and Tetbury - both delightful towns to visit.
We were very fortunate with the weather and being able to sit outside a beautiful old inn on an evening in April with the sun shining down on us - it didn't get better than that! Will definitely be going back again very soon.

We stayed here on Friday evening 28th March . We arrived approx 3.30. pm and were immediately impressed by the attitude of the young staff. We eat there in the evening and had a smashing meal for a reasonable price. The place was crowded with locals enjoying a nice range of real ales which was lovely and complete with log fires.
In brief this was a place I would thoroughly recommend on all counts and cant wait to go back.

Stayed one night in mid-March on recommendation of an ancestor. Well actually, a Great, Great Grandfather was publican there, back in the mid-1800's. The Crown is full of olde worlde character in the main building and has a more modern annexe with accomodation that is very comfortable and reasonably priced. We had booked into the restaurant and were not disappointed. Food was excellent and a good choice of real ales, cider and wines, which we thoroughly enjoyed in relaxed surroundings. B'fast next morning was very filling and after we spent the morning walking the old canal to Sapperton, we returned for a light lunch and beverage before departing, very satisfied and looking forward to our next visit there.
