Having spent weeks on end in high end hotels the Crown Inn in Frampton Mansell was exactly what we were looking for.

Execeptional in every way - I only wish that I could pass this message to everyone venturing into the beautiful English countryside.

If you are looking for somewhere with atmophere and personality, while still being immaculately clean, this is the one for you. The staff-owners are lovely, the food (both breakfast and the evening meal) was fantstic and the accommodation itself was clean, spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The current owners have apparently been there three years, and in our opinion, have done a wonderful job of creating the perfect english countryside experience

It's not often you find somewhere that has everything - and is reasonably priced as well - but The Crown Inn ticks all the boxes.

A beautiful old pub with bags of charm that nestles in a picture-postcard village, The Crown is within an easy drive of the well-known Cotswolds villages, but is far enough from the main roads to offer total peace and tranquility. The views all around are superb, giving you the feeling of truly getting away from it all.

The accomodation - in a detached block only yards from the pub - is cosy and welcoming. Clean, modern and offering everything you need, it compares very favourably with the bigger well-known chains we've visited.

The owners, Simon and Gemma, are very friendly. From being shown to our room personally rather than just handing over a key, to checking when we left that we'd had everything we needed, their customer service and attention to detail is outstanding.

And they run a little gem of a pub with magnificent food. Real fires, oak beams and cosy chairs tucked in quiet nooks and crannies - the pub is a perfect example of a classic country inn. The atmosphere is friendly yet very relaxed, and it was easy to sit back, chill out and just let the evening tick by.

The food, as I said earlier, is quite simply outstanding. Plenty of choice, generous portions, a superb range of ingredients, and stunning in both its presentation and taste. And great value too - I would certainly have expected to pay more at many other establishments.

In short, The Crown is a perfect choice whether it's for a night away or a little longer. And judging by the range of people staying during our visit (couples, younger and older groups, and families), the warm welcome extends to all.

I can't recommend The Crown highly enough.

If you're looking for a quiet inn with decent pub in a lost village then this is your place. The room was clean and well appointed with full bathroom and situated in modern annexe to old inn buildings. The inn itself possesses plenty of charm and is very welcoming. The breakfast included was hearty fare and service was very good all-round. We also had dinner in the pub and were very happy with our mains. Portions were well-sized and ales and ciders on offer were good too. Overall, we were very happy with the village and the inn and would thoroughly recommend it as a base for exploring the local area.

turned up on valentines night without a booking and were told they were fully booked, but the person behind the bar suggested we had a drink if were happy to wait. The place was warm and welcoming so we decided to stay, although we had to stand beacuse there were no seats, Within 5 minutes the same person had moved some coats and rustled us up a small table to sit at next to the open fire.
After about 3o minutes a few people had started to leave and we were ushered to a larger table. We ordered and were served our meals within 15 minutes. The beer was good, the food was good, the atmosphere great and the service first class. It was everything you want in a pub serving decent food....I only wish it was nearer where we live.
They seem to have captured that magic ingredient that many strive to find in that it was a foodyish pub but still felt like a pub and staffed with people who seemed to care but did it a natural way that wasn't overly trying hard to please.

Telephone booking handled very professionally and we were welcomed in a similar manner. The room was fine although on reflection I wish we'd asked for a room with a view, as ours was somewhat limited in that respect. However, the room was clean, warm, tastefully decorated, with tea /coffee making facilities and very comfortable beds.
Our evening bar meals were good and there was a cheerful atmosphere in the bar, albeit fairly quiet on the Monday. Although the Dining Room was a little chilly, we enjoyed our full English breakfasts on the first morning although we both chose something a little less substantial for our final day.
Just two small comments about breakfast. The toast could have been presented better and we too suffered from a lack of tomatoes!

Room was cold, shower head broken and we found an empty beer bottle under a table.
The breakfast was 1 sausage, 1 fried egg, 1 mushroom,1 rasher of bacon, 2 tiny pieces of black pudding and 2 rounds of rock hard toast. Tomatos was off the menu as they had none nut nothing else offered or item doubled up instead.
Very poor value for 47.50 per head b&b.

Just returned from a christmas party with friends at The Crown. It was a brilliant weekend, the staff were so helpful and professional, the food was as good as any mitchelin star restaurant that I have been to. We had a wonderful walk on the sunday morning followed by a scrumptious sunday lunch at the pub.
Thank you to Gemma Simon and all the staff, we certainly will be back soon.
