“Lovely little get away”

I stayed at owlpen manor in one of their delightful cottages for a few days , we stayed in Peter s nest a lovely secluded cottage enough for two people, lovely fully equipped cottage, amazing views of the woods it nestles in the base of its own woods so if you need a real country retreat away from it all this is defiantly the place. As an added bonus no or virtually no phone signal heaven, also if you do decide to stay there order food from the resturaunt and eat at your cottage, we had the soup fish pie and the beef all amazing and very reasonable for such high quality food . Would defiantly recommend for a wonderful chill out retreat

Room Tip: There are many cottages on the estate of various sizes but for a couple peter s nest was amazing

If you want to get away from the rat race then this is the place for you. A beautiful estate set in the Cotswolds. There are several cottages scattered about on the estate, we stayed in Peters Nest, perfect for two and a million miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Very friendly people on site and very helpful. Lovely food homemade on site and available to buy if you don't want to cook. All in all a fabulous break which we highly recommend.

A large group of friends arrived to Owlpen to celebrate two 30th birthdays. Our long weekend was absolutely fantastic, the cottages were quirky, interesting and comfortable, the location is spectacular and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I will be back again!

We have just returned from a week in Woodwells cottage, situated on the Owlpen manor.

My husband and I arrived at Owlpen for our honeymoon after a week in Paris. We are from Australia so the English countryside is something we just read about in Harry Potter novels and see on 'Escape to the Country'. We had both been dreaming of rolling green hills and quaint villages for some time. This was my second trip to the Cotswolds and my husbands first...

Owlpen manor does not disappoint. As you enter the winding road there are rolling green hills, fields, woods, Cotswolds stone houses and the village of Uley in the distance.

This little hamlet has the best of the Cotswolds all tied up in one near little bow. There is a gorgeous church next to Owlpen manor that is open for quiet prayer and reflection. A short walk past ducks, geese and past streams, fields and cows takes you to the village of Uley with a cafe, small arts centre, pub and a post office/store selling everything from stamps to goose eggs, Cotswolds ice cream, Scottish trout, good cider and more. It is the quintessential, picture book English village and hamlet.

We stayed in Woodwells cottage which was a generous 3 bedroom cottage and one of the prettiest little houses in the Cotswolds. Surrounded by wood and on the edge of the hamlet, it was perfect and felt like our own if only for one week. There is a little foyer for muddy shoes and jackets, a comfortable and English rustic lounge room, a decent enough kitchen that is fully equips, comfy beds, a spacious kitchen and more. We loved sprawling out in "our own" honeymoon cottage for a week especially after a week of European hotel rooms. There is a decent tv and DVD player and sufficient equipment for our grilled salmon and trout dinners and lazy breakfasts.

The furnishings are eclectic and ruggedly English. You really feel like you can relax but it's still nice enough and feels like a typical English cottage... A five star, pristine, designer hotel it is not but as a three bedroom country cottage it is good value for money and a home a way from home.

We never got a chance to try any of the meals but there is a delectable menu on offer for heat up meals.

We were very close to Tetbury and the lovely cafés close by, ten minutes from a Tesco in Stroud and thirty minutes from good value restaurants and movies in Cheltenham. It was a wonderful and down to earth week !

On the last week we had a visit from deer who were eating something next to our kitchen window. Ducks, bunnies and birds were all on show and we woke up to bird songs. The daffodils were out and it was as green as ever. I can only imagine the magic and splendour in Summer.

This has everything you could want from the Cotswolds - if you didn't go further than Owlpen, Uley and maybe the odd trip to Tetbury it would be more than enough.

No wifi or mobile coverage in the Cottage and we felt a bit off the grid but were able to use wifi near estate office or drive to closest tesco or macdonalds to check wifi. This was only a concern because am addicted to email.

A magical and enchanting place.

A perfect stay in the Owlpen valley. We stayed in a lovely house called Woodwell, nestled in the woods with uninterrupted views across the valley. Owls hooting in the woods at night, and buzzards wheeling overhead by day.
The house was cosy, the staff were warm, and Owlpen is well situated for exploring the south Costwolds, which have far fewer tourists but just as many great places to visit. You can get to Wales in an hour, we visited the seaside at Burnham on Sea, and the city of Bath is one of my favourite places.

Owlpen was a dream. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Woodwells was lovely, and the Girst Mill looks amazing. Next time we'll be staying there.

We rented all of the houses for my sisters wedding, the houses we stayed in
(manor farm and overcourt) were beautiful, perfectly located for all the lost relatives!! The estate itself was perfect for our 2 dogs and 3 children who loved going on the endless walks in the muddy puddles. The houses themselves were clean and comfortable and accommodated all our guests easily. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and we felt at home straight away.

Room Tip: All of the houses i went in were beautiful my favorite was Grist Mill.

Our annual pilgrimage to Owlpen has just come to an end (sad face). This year we were accompanied by my mother and sister so stayed at Manor Farm. Even though the weather was on the dreich side of the scale it certainly didn't dampen the spirits. How could it? We have seen this wonderful place on crisp, sunny winter days, snowy days and rainy days and it always remains magical. Osian (The Newfi) always settles well here and enjoys his walks around the estate. There are lots of beautiful villages and towns nearby to visit that are busy even in early February.

There are lots of dog friendly pubs within short driving distance that serve good food (I have the 'Dog Friendly' and 'Doggie Pubs' apps to assist).

Once again, nothing was too much trouble for anyone on the estate. We love spending time away with Osian and before finding Owlpen we weren't big on returning to the same place as there is so much to see in Britain. However Owlpen is something different. It is beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, and food for the soul. So beautiful in fact I may possibly get married here......... Watch this space :)
