“Hainanese Chicken at Temasek”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Temasek is a Malaysian Restaurant secretly burried in an alleyway off George Street, Parramatta.

My mates and I were most impressed with the Hainanese Chicken dish, valued $13.50 - affordable, not cheap but not expensive. Taste-wise ... delicious. The rice was beautifully flavoured and the chicken succulent and tender.

The restaurant was busy and booking is recommended. Unfortunately, we could not stay longer than 1.5 hours as a long queue of customers snaked outside. You may be rushed to order and not provided with the best, professional service - but the buzz of the restaurant makes for a lively atmosphere. The credit card machine did not work so be prepared to pay with cash.

Overall, the food and atmosphere was great and would definitely return for some authentic Malaysian food!

“Worth it for the laksa alone...”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is a very popular lunchtime haunt with a varied Asian menu. They sell lunchtime versions of several of their most popular dishes and the chicken laksa is fantastic. Service can be very hit and miss - expect meals to arrive at very different times if you are with a large group. The value is good though and its a very lively place - if you turn up midway through the lunch shift then you may struggle for a table...

“Well deserved reputation ”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

This little hole in the wall has a cult full listing among Malaysian curry fans, but it is the eggplant sambal that had me returning time after time. Powerful flavors which include chili, sticky caramel, salty shrimp paste and goodness knows what else, coupled with silky eggplant... Just perfect. But be warned, these are authentic flavors, and a long way from what you may be used to, and no punches are pulled!

“We have been dining here for 10 years and counting.”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Homesick for the food back in Singapore where I'm originally from... Temasek has been my saving GRACE. Singapore Hokkien mee at Temasek is my favorite. We dine here at least once a month in the last 10 years. We will cry if Temasek decides to retire :) Owners are so friendly and restaurant is always busy. Good value , quality and Delish. What can you ask for?
