Echo the praise and happy sentiments of other good reviews. This place is genuinely special and genuine; somewhere you can truly leave it all behind. Would love to go back and spend another day swinging in a hammock by the pool, exploring the hillside, playing with the friendly family dogs, looking forward to a special evening meal and sleeping in spectacularly spacious rooms with great views.

Podere conti is in an unrivalled setting, absolutely beautiful! The rooms are large and stylish with great bathrooms. Food in the restaurant is gorgeous and the owners, Cornelia and Corrado were friendly, knowledgeable and lovely people! We hope to return next year!

We spent a week at Podere Conti in August with teenage kids. Lovely setting and surroundings, comfortable and stylish appartment, beautiful swimming pool and garden, fantastic view- especially in the evening on the restaurant's terrace. Relaxed and familiar atmosphere.

The owners, Cornelia and Corrado, have created a unique place. They manage the hotel and restaurant in a dynamic and friendly way. Their five sons are lively and charming boys. Of course they play around the pool with the guest's children but never in a disturbing way.
The restaurant serves very good quality for a reasonable price. At first we did not plan to eat every evening there, but it is such an exceptional location. Indeed, it is remote and you have to make a little effort to drive into town, but in return you can enjoy real peace and quiet. As we drove away on the morning of our departure, we crossed a little deer on the street.

We spent 4 days at Podere Conti in April 2013 as a break away from city life. 3 young professionals we were seeking relaxation, good food and wine and this is exactly what Podere Conti delivered! Cornelia and her husband were so accommodating and helpful in offering suggestions for places to visit in the surrounding area. The food was delicious, a small menu, however this was best as the food was fresh and cooked to order and all sourced in the local area ( I recommend the trout- it was divine). We stayed in the larger apartment which had a small kitchen, and a beautiful terrace( shared with others) overlooking the tuscan hills. We couldn't get over the location, absolute bliss in the middle of nowhere but you do definitely need to hire a car if you want to visit other places! The weather wasn't great, but we made the most of it. Glad we went to Florence- a 2 hour drive away- but definitely worth it. Visited Cinque Terre and Portovenere, two unspoilt Italian towns. Overall, it was the perfect getaway- thankyou Cornelia and Corrado.

Spent a fantastic 12 days here in August 2012. We are family of 5, children aged 13, 10, 5 - and it was perfect for us. Smart and chic, while friendly and relaxed at all times. Great food, and ate many meals at the restaurant - making one of our most relaxed holidays for ages. Cornelia runs the place perfectly - friendly and open, while allowing everyone their own space. Cornelia and Corrado were perfect hosts. We loved the pool and our appartment - 2 bedroom, small kitchennette and balcony with views across the valley. Local town of Pontremoli is very Italian - small but friendly and fun. We had great weather - full Italian heatwave which we loved, but for some may have been a bit much! Overall a family holiday that made us, as a couple, feel like we were on a smart weekend break for much of the time - perfect! Thanks Cornelia and Corrado

Reviewed 20 October 2012

We stayed a night here in early September 2012. We had our own crisis in that I had lost my driving licence and we couldn't hire a car, and the first thing to say is that Cornelia and her husband were very helpful in trying to help us get our holiday back on track. There's really nothing more that she could reasonably have done to help.

The location is very beautiful, but be warned, it is remote. I was slightly hoping in my mind that it might be like holidays we'd had in France where we would wander from the farmhouse we rented to the local village for supplies - it was a nice diversion. This hotel is up a long and winding road, and there's no village nearby. You either stay in, or you go out on a proper trip. Some might really like the seclusion, but it's good to know in advance that's there's nowhere obvious to take walks to from the hotel.

The rooms are very nice, and the bathrooms and large. My only niggle about the rooms is that they use these energy saving bulbs which are, frankly, rather weak and gloomy. When it was raining or dark outside, the room felt dim and a touch miserable. It is fair to say that I'm keen on bright rooms generally, and maybe it wouldn't bother others quite like it did me.

We didn't stay long enough to sample many things on the menu, but from what we did eat, the cooking was good - indeed we had a salad on arrival which is one of the best I've ever eaten.

There is a negative review about Podere Conti based on the view of the reviewer's view that the family's kids were too invasive. There are other reports that the kids kept away from the pool and didn't impose. We weren't there long, but our impression is that you are certainly aware that you are guests of a family, and in this respect, the hotel has almost a 'bed and breakfast' feel rather than the feel of a hotel. I don't suspect that the fact that when you stay here the owner's kids around will affect any but the most touchy travellers, and indeed some will welcome the relaxed and familial feel. We were travelling with a toddler ourselves, and liked the family feel.

In our short stay, the highlight was sitting on the balcony reading and watching the sun set - that was really very special. It is a good place for relaxing.

While Wedding Venue Hunting 3 years ago, Podere Conti was recommended to us.
We had planned are trip near Florence but thought its only 2 hours away "Worth a look maybe". So glad we did! As soon as we arrived from us the mountain road we knew we had found somewhere special. A Gorgeous, rustic farm turned into a boutique style hotel.
Shown around by the Owner Cornelia, we were amazed by everything. The standards are Excellent.
This Sept we will be holding are Wedding there, bringing 60 friends and family over to enjoy Podere Conti's gorgeous views, superb food Food and excellent hospitality. Can't Wait!
