“Gem of a Place”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

We stayed for just one night at this farm house on our way to the Isle of Wight and what a lovely place. The family were all very welcoming even to the extent of taking us into Whitchurch and picking us back up. Our room was delightful and breakfast was delicious, we wished that we could have stayed longer but will definately stay again.

From the minute we arrived (and found!) this off the beaten track farm, Jennie made us very welcome with a tray of tea and biscuits in the lounge whilst telling us about her family and the busy lives they all live. We were only staying one night as we were visiting the Records Office in nearby Winchester and our hostess's recommendation of a local pub turned out to be good advice.

The yellow room on the first floor was very comfortable with a good view (probably) over the adjacent paddock on a less foggy day! Save room for the breakfast which is freshly cooked to order and unobtrusively served. Apart from never seeing or hearing their herd of cattle, this was a real working farm with the family preparing to take their horses for a canter following our departure. Spot on - many thanks.

We spent a lovely weekend at Peak House Farm staying in the yellow room which was beautiful.Breakfast was wonderful and Jennys choice of eateries for an evening meal were excellent.A great stay would return again and definately recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely peaceful break. The only downside was an extremely squeeky wooden bed !

Room Tip: Yellow double room was lovely.

My wife and I stayed at Peak House Farm for a few days break which enabled me to go into Winchester University on two days. We found it welcoming, comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. We were greeted with tea on our arrival which was an extra nice gesture. We found some interesting places to visit in the area.

Running B&B on a working farm with two school age children is bound to be challenging sometimes but we always felt that they made meeting our needs a priority. I booked in for another visit in June and would most certainly recommend Peak House Farm.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex which worked well for us.

We had 2 lovely nights at Jenny's B&B, the family were very welcoming without being intrusive. The children were very used to B&Bers and entertained us with intelligent conversation without being underfoot. The fact that we had glorious Easter weather for our 3 day biking trip no doubt helped, but we really enjoyed the peacefullness of the farm. The main road isn't far away, but you couldn't hear it in the bedrooms, and we slept well in the comfy bed. We had wonderful times watching the deer from our bedroom window and saw hare and kites and lots of other wonderful wildlife during our cycles. Jenny recommended the Vine pub at Hannington which was excellent and we also enjoyed the Jack Russell pub which offered squirrel burgers! The Coop in Whitchurch is 'open all hours', great news for hungry cyclists. This is a farm though, so of course there will be cows and horses etc..we loved it!
