In short, this hotel is very nice. The rooms are well furnished and taken care of and the staff has been very pleasant. Outside of the hotel there is not much to do (within walking distance), but otherwise there isn’t much to complain about. For my stay, I believe the price was about 500 Riyals a night.
Regardless, let’s hop right into things:
-The rooms. They are spacious and well furnished. Not only that, but the furniture seems to be decent quality-- especially for this area of the world). Even the kitchen is a good size
-The hotel. The halls are clean, pleasant and overall the hotel feels like it is a quality building.
-The beds. Large and comfortable, the rooms are quiet and dark at night-- good for sleeping
-The staff. They are pleasant, their English is excellent, so communication isn’t a problem. Zero complaints from me on the staff. They helped me order in dinner, everything. I loved the staff.
-While they do not have dining facilities (just an area for breakfast), the staff was amazingly helpful for ordering dinner. The gentleman behind the desk pulled out a dozen menus from local restaurants and even called and ordered for me. The food was cheap, filling and arrived pretty quickly. So, while I was disappointed that there was no dining hall on site, it quickly didn’t matter.
-The internet. It is free (which is very good), but cuts in and out quite a bit. It is slightly annoying, but not frustrating. At least you’re not paying for it. On the same note, I don’t count on being able to place decent Skype calls or anything.
-The pillows. In my room, my two pillows were quite stiff. I managed to sleep alright, but the pillows could use some major improvement.
-The location. It is not in a bad part of town. I feel safe, it’s fine. The fact is that there just really aren’t any stores of any kind nearby within easy walking distance.
-The breakfast. The breakfast is a free Continental Breakfast and the food is okay, but the selection is very limited. There really isn’t any fruit or anything-- just pastries, juice, eggs, sausages, muffins...
-None. The pillows are a bit stiff like I said above, but overall I would still be happy to stay here.
