We have stayed here on numerous occasions and each one of them was enjoyable.

This was our first visit with our new son (only 6 weeks old) and Melissa once again made sure that everything was as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Highly recommended to get away from it all without needing to go too far from the city.

We will be back again!

We have had the pleasure of staying at Strath Valley View a number of times since 2008.

The cottage is situated in a stunning environment and the views of the surrounding hills are breath-taking.

The cottage itself is always immaculate and provides everything you need to get away from the rat-race.

From home-baked bread, generous breakfast provisions, complimentary port together with an extremely well equipped kitchen and BBQ, just bring up some food and you don't need to leave. There are even bottles of wine and beer in the cottage for sale for a reasonable price.

We've stayed there as a couple and later with our child from a small baby to the age of four and it is a perfect escape for a family.

She is always delighted with the books, puzzles and DVDs that are there - and so am I because it means we have to pack so little!

This visit we saw kangaroos and a wombat much to the delight of our daughter.

Everything from the quality towels and bed linen to the fire and DVD collection makes this the ideal place to unwind - particularly given the short travel time from Melbourne.

Melissa is a fantastic host and I hope to return many more times.

Tranquillity. If you came as a couple, or as a family with children, it is all there. Small native birds tapping on the window, Kangaroos and cows, appearing out of the mist and meandering past as you meditated by the highly efficient enclosed fire enjoying the complimentary port or two. Climb the mountain, hibernate, or go touring with info from the most comprehensive folder of information I have seen in the various B&B,s we have stayed at. The fire was burning when we arrived ,the provisions were great; and you felt comfortable there. From the binoculars to the picnic rug and thermos provided you name it you could find it;3 nights was not enough,we will need to return. From Yvonne & Ian Narre Warren. Thanks Melissa.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. I find it so rewarding to have my guests really enjoy their stay at Strath Valley View. This time of year is so cosy by the fire with the misty hills as your view. Looking forward to having you back again.

From the moment we glimpsed the cute wooden cottage nestled half way up the hill behind the farm and above the little hamlet of Strath Creek, we were transported to another world! The gentle views of the "Valley of a Thousand Hills" (even more breathtaking if you climb to the top of the hill behind the cottage!), beautifully appointed accommodation, delicious and generous breakfast provisions and a warm welcome from Melissa, complete with a basket of warm, freshly baked bread, meant our stay was perfect in every way. It exceeded all our expectations and we are still talking about it weeks after. Thank you Melissa for sharing your special place with us!

Strath Valley View is everything it claims to be on it's website, and more. This is easily the best equipped "self-catering" accommodation we have ever stayed in. The kitchen was well equipped, and made it easy to host a few people for a family birthday during our stay.

There was plenty of books, DVDs, toys and the cubby house was a massive hit with our young son.

The location is also great for a low key holiday....there are a few places to go, things to do and see, but equally you can just take it easy and enjoy the quiet and the view at the B&B.

We very much hope to return again some day.

We stayed 3 nights here and wished it were for longer. The cottage is beautifully located in the "Valley of a thousand hills" and the view is superb with the title being no exaggeration. The cottage is beautifully fitted out with 2 bedrooms and laundry facilities and everything you can think of has been thoughtfully provided. (This was the biggest dvd library I have ever seen in a b&b!) The little extras for the price make this place an absolute bargain - breakfast provisions provided with homemade bread and jams, a cheese and fruit platter on arrival, coffee pod machine, handmade local soaps and wines available at cheap prices. The place was immaculately clean and spacious. The garden was a delight and the cottage was half way up a 30 degree hill to maximise the views but so privately located you were in a world of your own.

Strath Valley View B&B is very peaceful and it is some way away from main towns so if you are expecting to just pop down the road for a quick cappucchino and a shop this is not the place. If you are looking for a quiet haven with country views where you can get away from it all then definitely come here!

Melissa has been running this B&B since 2007 and there was not one bad comment in her visitors books with visitors and friends and families repeatedly returning here to this gem and we can understand why.

There are additional highlights in the animals - there are cute belted galloway cows, a pony, horse, a dog and chickens on the property not to mention lots of beautiful birdlife and we even saw a koala crossing the road just down the hill... and the usual kangaroos at sunset. You are given the freedom by Melissa to wander the property and enjoy the amazing views from her hill (a small mountain really) but for those less physically able, you can just sit on the deck and enjoy it too! Loved the place!!

Room Tip: Beautiful country location
