Patrick and Fanny run a fun comfortable chambres d'hôtes which is perfectly located for anyone doing research into Flanders war cemeteries, a couple hundred metres from Polygon Wood, close to the memorable Museum at Zonnebeke, and not far from the huge Tyne Cot cemetery. The hosts make guests very welcome and full of useful info about the district in particular the war cemeteries. Internet ok but best in the dining room.
Strongly recommended.

Thank you to Patrick and Danny for a wonderful last 5 days .. I stayed at the De Akkerwinde B and B ( for the second time) for ANZAC DAY 2014 , perfect location for the Dawn Service, as its literally across from Polygon Wood ... the site of some the worst fighting in the Flanders during WW1

Patrick and Fanny look after you with a wonderful breakfast, .... lots of information, tips on where to the numerous sites of The Flanders, good places to eat and drink

Patrick and Fanny make you feel welcome and part of The Family .. I Will be returning to De Akkerwinde in the near future !

Thanks again Fanny & Patrick

We stayed for four nights bed and breakfast, rooms were spotless - warm with all our needs met. Our hosts Fanny and Patrick are friendly - offering help - great breakfast including omelettes which are huge and with a choice of ham and or cheese.

Honesty bar available and great food - great choice of Belgian beers -white and red wine too, soft drinks also available.

I highly recommend.

Very nice B&B. Very friendly people, very nice breakfast, carpark in the back, terras in the front, backgarden, acces to drinks at any time. Eveningmeals during the week. In the weekend only 2 min. on foot to nearby pub 'De Dreve' with drinks and food. And the location is ideal for people who want the explore the WW1 sites. Zonnebeke, Passendale, Ypres, Tynecott,.... it all within a limited distance.

Happy to recommend Patrick and Fanny's comfortable home. We were very fortunate to be given the large 2 bedroom upstairs self contained apartment, which was very nice and would make a great base if you were planning on spending a few days in the area.

I enjoyed the communal nature of the breakfast, and it was nice having Fanny join us at the table. A delicious breakfast, with plenty to choose from. About 15 minutes drive back into Ypres and right on the spot for many of the WW1 sites.

Room Tip: Only saw the apartment - great if you were staying a few days in the area as it gives a self caterin...

We arrived late in the evening and were greeted warmly by Fanny. We were immediately made to feel at home. Our room was lovely, with a private courtyard and a beautiful big bed. We enquired about getting some dinner and was sent to a pub a short walk away. The people there were fantastic, but that's another story. If there is enough people wanting to, they will provide dinner at a very reasonable charge. We dined at De Akkerwinde the second evening and the meal was delicious. Fanny even packed us a lunch to take with us on our tour of the battlefields and cemeteries. The B&B is a short walk to Polygon Woods where we attended the dawn service on Anzac Day. The area has beautiful woods to walk in and the area seems popular with cyclists as well. Patrick and Fanny were wonderful hosts and we hope to return.
