“Excellent teahouse - restaurant near the passendale museum.”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Not expensive, worth every penny. Probably the best lunch I ever had in Belgium.
Waiters are not really fast but the food makes up for that. Given the fact that's next to the Passendale battle museum this is a good combination.
Clean restrooms as well.

“Brilliant.”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We stopped in here for a much needed coffee. What a treat. The coffee was delicious and the little extras really made the stop worth while!

“Nice place for lunch”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We spent an enjoyable morning looking round the Memorial Museum Passchendaele, and particularly enjoyed the mock up of the dugouts and the trenches. The Koklikoo Teahouse is in the grounds of the museum was the perfect place for lunch. Luckily we did not want a main meal, as the main Bistro area was full, but it was warm enough to be able to sit outside and have a light lunch. The waitress was very helpful, and explained in English the items on the menu which we could not translate. She also told us that they have ordered menus in English.

“A great find”
Reviewed 22 August 2012

We were in Zonnebeke and desperately trying to find a place to have lunch. We almost gave up when we saw the signs to this restaurant located adjacent to the Passendale museum.

The restaurant has a terrace and a nicely appointed, modern dining room. We were only looking for a light lunch and weren't disappointed. I had the pate 'sandwich' with a side salad while my table mates went with the Croque Monsieur. The food was excellent (particularly the fries side order) and the service efficient and friendly. The menu was only written in Flemmish but the waitress explained each of the items for us. This is probably your best bet in the Zonnebeke area.

“ypres - what a find”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

We have been living in belgium 20 odd years and have eaten just about everywhere... we turned up on a wet and windy cold day to do the Museum which was packed out by a school trip. next door an unassuming little place - my wife said - that must be the coffee shop. As soon as we walke din we were immersed in hospitality, great food, good service and (for me important) good portions... Our steaks were cooked just as we wanted it, the frites were superb and plenty of them, the soup plentiful and tasy... the house white was good and even though i was driving afterwards I indulged too much. - then the bill came. I was shocked. I asked if they had checked it. we estimated it to be about 100 EUR for two but it was half that. At first we were not going to leave a review as we are sure to go back and you never recommend your best favourite restaurant for fear of spoiling it but we want to make an exception. On a trip where so many memories were sad and reflective, this was a bright spot and a connect with the now local population...
