Just eaten a beautiful meal in the Last Light Lodge Cafe, at Tuatapere, Southland, New Zealand. I had the Warm Blue Cod salad and my friend had the Greek Salad. Both generous servings, fresh, crisp, great flavours and the cod was to die for - lightly pan fried and with a delicious balsamic dressing. A great sauvignon to accompany, and lovely ambience - this place is part of a back packer's lodge/ holiday camp, but the meal was worthy of any great restaurant in the capital Wellington. Thanks guys - a great send off meal before we walk the Hump Ridge and eat freeze dried food for the next few days.
