Immediately on arrival, we reaslied we'd discovered treasure! After a long drive from the UK, we received a very warm welcome from Nicole and Alex and after a quick exploration of their beautiful surroundings (old restoried buildings, gardens, chickens, endless views over fields), we settled down to a very thoughfully provided 'welcome' pack - perfect to enjoy in our secluded private garden.

The gite itself is very thoughtfully furnished and set out, perfect for a self catering base or to store picnics in between days out. The folder of brochures and good ideas, set out by distance away and with Nicole's helpful guidelines, set the tone for a week of relaxation and exploration. We slept so very well too!

This was a real tonic from busy lifestyles - we promised ourselves at the start of the week that we wouldn't rush around to see too many sites and therefore not relax. But still, from here, we managed to see the very best of the Loire countryside, chateaux, fortresses, vineyards and peaceful historic towns.

We can recommend, besides this fantastic accommodation, the Amuse Bouche restaurant, Jeanne d'Arc pizzeria in Chinon, Amboise, Blois, Cheverny, Chenonceau, Chinon all round, Vouvray and Montlouis sur Loire for wine tasting, Grand Pressigny for tranquility and history...and so much more.

We'd love to come back - and have brought back some lovely wine to remind us until we do! Alex and Nicole, thank you for a wonderful break.

I can find nothing else to say about staying in Chezania Cottage, other than it was completely perfect. Alex and Nicole have created a beautiful retreat in the French countryside, perfect for families and couples alike.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Nicole's cooking was also superb.
I sincerely hope this will not be our last stay at this wonderful place.
Thank you.

Our stay at Les Limornieres was fantastic! Our two girls, who are 7 and 9, bounced on the trampoline from dawn until dusk, and then came in exhausted to two happy parents just in time for a fabulous home cooked meal by the owners of the cottages.
It was great to have the kitchen, plus the bonus of ordering a delicious meal if you did not want to cook (which we didn't!).
The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - from contacting a local stable, to leaving us 4 bikes to explore the area.....
The accommodation is quaint, and we loved all the games etc that were on hand for the kids. The property is truly lovely.
We could find no fault with our stay here - perhaps apart from a morning when we had no matches to light the stove - that was a wee chilly but all part of the experience!
We cannot recommend this place highly enough - it was perfect, and Nicole and Alex truly did all they could to make us feel welcome - they are brilliant!

Alex and Nicole were wonderfully personable from the point of booking to the moment of departure. They had stocked the fridge with sufficient local food for breakfast. Chene was a cottage full of character and the lovely closed fire (with wood provided) added to it's winter charm. It was amazingly peaceful, yet within driving range of many attractions (chateau's and beautiful villages). Alex and Nicole had printed tourist information within the cottage as well as providing verbal guidance about places to visit over the New Years period. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a good base to explore the Loire Valley.

We spent a week at Les Limornieres in June and had a great time. The hosts gave us a lovely welcome and continued to look after us during our stay. The large gardens and many toys both inside and out meant it was perfect for our two year old. The cottage itself was gorgeous. I'd thoroughly recommend Les Limornieres.

We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children aged 12, 10, 9) and we stayed at Chezania for 1 week at the end of July 2009. I really couldn't recommend this place enough if you like peace and quiet and would like to experience an 'authentic-feeling' French holiday. Firstly the Le Grand Pressigny, is a small and beautiful town with a lovely church and shops. The Chateau was being rennovated when we visited but I understand it is now open. There is plenty to do such as swimming in a river,(which we did most evenings, visiting nearby cave houses, kayaking on the River Creuse and cycling around fabulous countryside trying to spot wild boar. But one of the best excersions was a night time trip to see the sound and light show at the stunning chateau at Azay-Le-Rideau which was just fabulous - the kids really enjoyed this.

Chezania itself is wonderful! The hosts have got it spot on because they are attentive but not intrusive. We had spent the night prior to our arrival in Paris and we were all quite frazzled when we finally reached Chezania but Nicola had prepared a fabulous meal with local wine which we ate in the beautiful old barn. You could feel the stress melting away. If you go, you really should try Nicola's cooking.

The children really loved the freedom of the place. They enjoyed feeding the hens, visiting the snowy owl in the barn, spotting huge birds of prey and finding strange insects.

I have never written a review like this before but I think a place such as this deserves to do well and I know that if you do visit, you won't be dissappointed.

We travelled via Euro Star and Car and arrived with very little and our 5 month old baby .

We had a great stay, shopping nappies, food and toys were all waiting for us with a warm welcome

We took advantage of the evening meal and breakfast and they were great, local info was to hand and we even got Fresh eggs.

The cottage really is small but beautifully formed and even better if it is cold enough for the long burning stove.

Plenty of things to see in the area and if you don't want to travel just stay in the cottage, enjoy the gardens and go for local walks.
