“A very special place”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in June 2013

This was our third visit with family and friends. We love everything about it. It has given us some very special holiday memories that we will keep forever. We enjoy the simple things like walking into Marca to the bakers, having a drink in the bar, a stroll up the hill to the turtle sanctuary enjoying the fantastic views. We love going further afield to the castle at Miravet, the market at Falsett and even a day trip on the train to Barcelona. Martin, Maggie, Ella and Joe are warm, friendly people who have created a very special place that I feel privileged to have shared a little part of. I look forward to going back one day.

“Magical Mother's Garden!”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in September 2012

Mother's Garden is truly a special place, the location, people and the incredible scenery of the region make it a fabulous place for families, groups of friends or couples to visit. The accommodation is very comfortable, fabulously furnished and homely. Maggie and Martin (the owners) are fantastic and have extensive local knowledge, so will advise on anything you may need. A great holiday, I intend to go back again and again! Many thanks, Colette

“Beautiful situation, lovely cottage, thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in September 2012

I stayed at the cottage with 5 friends. It was beautifully equipped and the accommodation was perfect. I am slightly disabled so having a downstairs bedroom and wet room was just perfect. We were amply supplied with logs for cosy evenings around the fire. The cottage is surrounded by stunning views and lovely countryside. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing holiday and I would recommend it to anyone.

“Autumn at Mother's Garden”
Reviewed 9 January 2014 for a stay in October 2012

I won't pretend this is the first time we have stayed at Mother's Garden, we have been coming to this magical valley for several years. Always staying at Mother's Garden and always returning home refreshed and relaxed. The holiday cottage is comfortable and has all you need for a memorable stay.
Martin & Maggie know the area well and can advise visitors about places to go that are not necessarily on the usual tourist agenda.
It is wonderful for adults and children, for groups of friends, and for families.
You will not regret a minute of your stay.
Its is a real chance to experience the true heart of Spain with the best company you will find in Cataunya.

“Wonderful, relaxing stay. Experienced the heart of Catalonia”
Reviewed 8 January 2014 for a stay in September 2012

We stayed for a week in September. There were 8 of us (6 adults and 2 kids under 5). We got the train from Barcalona to Marca, easier than I thought! The Cottage and farm are on the other side of a beautiful village and are surrounded by olive groves and grape vines. We spent the week eating amazing fresh produce, fabulous olive oil (we will never go back to shop stuff now!), walking in the foothills (although in Autumn we opted not to swim n the natural pools - bit too chilly!). One of our party wasn't able to do anything too strenuous, plus we had 2 little children with us but we were still able to do lots of walking, both around the village and into the hills. I recommend bringing a picnic up into the terraces above the natural pools! Maggie and Martin were great, very knowledgeable and keen to make sure we had the best stay possible. We ate out at their local, tried their local home made wine, ate al fresco with paella cooked on an open fire...
The cottage is spotless and the decor simple (but not basic). We had lots of evenings inside in front of the fire playing daft games but also lots outside eating on the terrace, playing dreadful ping pong and swimming in the pool.

“Wonderful accommodation in a truly beautiful area”
Reviewed 10 September 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Holidaying at Mother's Garden was my post-retirement treat to myself ... and what a treat it was! The accommodation itself is excellent - spacious, well-equipped and traditionally furnished. The outside areas are superb too - a sizeable pool with pretty gardens and lovely views over the meadow to the hills beyond. Martin and Maggie are delightful hosts - eager to talk about their life and the region and to make sure your every need is fulfilled.

The Priorat is a truly beautiful region. We visited in June when wild flowers were abundant and daytime temperatures were not too hot. There were plenty of "wow" moments on our travels through the area including visits to Porrera, Gratallops, Els Guiamets, Capcanes to name but a few. We took the train to Barcelona for a day trip and drove to Tarragona on another occasion. Reus is another beautiful town/city within easy reach.

Marca itself is a pretty little village and Falset is able to fulfil most needs on the shopping front, including its delightful market on Tuesdays.

My husband and I would love to return to Mother's Garden. Will we? We're not sure because we don't want to spoil the memories of this year's fantastic 2 week holiday - our best ever - but there are still many more places to visit in the area so we could certainly fill another 2 weeks while staying in such a beautiful location.
