“A lovely wee tearoom in a really nice little village.”
Review of Penpont Tea Room

Penpont Tea Room
Ranked #2 of 3 Coffee & Tea in Thornhill
Description: Penpont tea room We visited this small village tea room at the end of a river walk on a lovely spring day. The walk starts just down the road from the tea room, passed the garage, over the bridge and the path starts just to the left. Follow the path next to the river and then turn right at the end and right at the T junction. It takes around 2 hours. The tea room is shared with the village Post Office and run by 2 ladies that make all their own cakes. Prices were very respectable and they're very used to walkers, even keeping cold bottles of tap water in the fridge. Generally a great little find.

We went to the Penpont tearoom for a mid morning breakfst and ended up buying some of the baking as a carryout. Lovely BLT and beautiful baking. Will definitely be visiting again. Seems to be a busy place.

“Brilliant Tea Room Worth a de-tour !!”
Reviewed 7 November 2012

Dropped by Penpont Tea Room on reccomendation from Rik's Bike Shed, we had just hired some bikes and were in need of quick refreshment before making our onward journey ! I was very pleased to see haggis on the menu (my absoloute favourite dish !) I sampled a cheese and haggis toastie, my husband had the haggis and mincemeat pastie and my daughter had a homemade sausage roll, all were equally delicious. We definetly reccomend the pasties, also homemade ! The staff were friendly and very accomodating even though we had called by at the end of lunch service. Excellent value for money, couldn't fault the prices at all ! Brilliant discovery, if we are in the area again we will be back !!

“MARVELLOUS BAKING IN TEAROOM IN SOU'WEST SCOTLAND”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

The Penpont tea room , in the small village of Penpont , near Thornhill , is well worth a visit . Superb baking and savouries make it a tasty treat in Bonnie Galloway . You can also conveniently post your letters or post cards in the post office section which shares the floor space . The Penpont tearomm is a real find just for the quality of its baking and cakes .

“A real friendly place”
Reviewed 8 October 2012

Stopped in for a snack and found one of Scotland's gems. Honest, home made food, great coffee, and all made fresh on the premises by someone who knows how to cook, and just loves to feed people.
Excellent value for money. Thank God there are still places who use real food rather than serving things out of packets.
A proper village tea room, worth deviating off the A76 for.
